Gfh capital made 10 million or so profits last year and that only because they value leeds 10 million more than they paid David haigh and mr Patel are just 2 likely lads trying the luck there not in it for the love off leeds there in it to see if they can make a quick million, as a Leeds fan I just believe we finally got rid off bates but could off ended up with 2 clowns with no footballing sense at all, all these fans that believe there going to spend millions need to go see a doctor because there deluded

1.) 12 May 2013
I think they bought the club thinking a lot of business associates would buy in too and bankroll a swift prem return then sell for massive profit. Trouble is its a bit like a pub talk plan, everyone drops out after they sober, the missus finds out, and once everyone else 'no shows' the rest bail out. So here we are, an empty vessel with a bag full of failed promises.

2.) 12 May 2013
If I was a businessman looking to make a quick profit, the last thing I would do is invest in a football club.
it seems a bit unfair to be slagging gfh off already and surely no leeds fan wants a risdale type overspend again.
my concern is that a steady, championship mid table leeds united is, I imagine, a pretty good, profitable business requiring no risk or major investment. whereas, a promotion chasing leeds is a huge and expensive risk.

3.) 12 May 2013
They will only earn that money if we are promoted, and that needs investments to do so. And they know it.

4.) 12 May 2013
Do you think bates loved leeds. football has changed, they will be looking to make a profit on their investment, the only way to do that is by speculating. the only way to do that is by giving mcdermot a fair chance of getting in the premiership. are you aleeds fan anyway. , if your that negative at this time what do you get out of following leeds.

5.) 12 May 2013
£10m where did you find that extra 0 from

Clearly stated on web site £1m profit

Ain't enough to buy jack s*** that

6.) 12 May 2013
You are entitled to express your opinions but I disagree with you here. GFH have been in the driving seat at ER barely 6 months, it's quite unfair to expect massive root and branch changes in such a short time.
In fairness they have always been up front about needing investment, they have made it clear their ambition to take Leeds United to the PL and want to do this the right way not in a Risdale's type fashion.
I wish they were loaded with £££s but they have said they do not have the cash, they have not made promises and have shared there ambitions for our club. So far, barring keeping KB on board, I like what they are trying to do and appointing BM as manager is very canny. With time, patience, and us fans doing our bit, I feel really positive about the future for first time since we were relegated from PL.
We all have to be United from now on, we can have a very good manager, v. Good facilities, but if the atmosphere is crap and negative it doesn't help one bit. Word gets around, potential player targets will not want to play for a club immersed in negativity. There is a lost generation of youth supporters to reclaim as loyal Leeds United supporters. MOT

Northumberland LUFC

7.) 12 May 2013
I totally agree I don't understand why some Leeds fans think they have money they clearly had none last season, maybe they found a few million down the back off the sofa

8.) 12 May 2013
If you think ken bates would sell leeds for 10m less than it was worth your in cuckoo land mate.

9.) 12 May 2013
From day 1 GFH said they would be looking for investors to be a part of LUFC future. They said they would be looking to appoint a young manager. They said they would be looking at a good crop of youth within the squad. So far they seem to be delivering on these statement. I don't think it has ever been a secret that GFH hasn't got bucket loads of cash a-la Man City, we knew that from the start.

I personally feel it is too early to start criticising them, after only 6 months in charge. If nothing has changed after the end of next season then perhaps that is the time to question whether they are the right people to take the club forward.

10.) 12 May 2013
Well gfh has spent 10mill on leeds while talks of buyin the club then if they've made 1mill profit says on website then they made 11mill 10 back an 1 profit do your maths lol I dnt give to s***s what they do won't stop me travelling over every month from northern ireland to watch the super leeds MOT

11.) 12 May 2013
You can't say they've only been here barely 6mths so not really had time to spend look at forest who spent quite a bit in the first mth of there takeover being complete you can tell they have money and leeds don't

12.) 12 May 2013
They are clearly novices, with a lot to learn, and have no real resources to speak of. I wish them luck of course, and am really hoping their total inexperience and lack of clout does not hold us back. Those who were hoping for the dream outcome of ready cash post-Bates must be disappointed. As it happens, there is hope, because we finally have a proper manager at the helm, someone who seems to know how to implement a system of play and set about putting into place a long-term, sustainable strategy. If we are successful, it will probably be in spite of GFH, unless they find some major investor with whom to power-share. Go Brian! Chapel A

13.) 12 May 2013
I agree totally with northumberlands comments well said to the original poster how can david haigh be a clown when he imo has appointed one of the best managers that we have had in a decade that to me in itself that is a massive step in the right direction there is no quick return to the top flight you must build a team just let's say gfh capital throughs 20 million in the pot for transfers it would not mean we get promotion

14.) 12 May 2013
If we were expecting a similar injection of cash that has happened with Kuwaiti money coming in by the bucket load, where would be now?

Fielding a team lacking motivation, with a bench full of journeymen whilst been played off the pitch by Wigan. 12 points behind the s*** and trying to put together £3. 0 million to sack the manager.

Look what has happened to Leicester - nothing!andanother manager at the job centre on Monday morning!

A structured and well planned assault on achieving Premiership status is what's required.

Wait and see!

Only sad thing is we will not be playing Leeds Reserves next year along with their prolific goal scorer Bechi-who?

the reason for valuing club at 10 mil more than they paid was
1. it looks better on there profit/loss margin
2. they will receive a bigger amount for selling shares in the club.

gfh will not sell up before reaching the premier league and we are in good hands.
at least we know we won't suddenly go bust and fall down leagues while they are running the club

16.) 13 May 2013
"as a Leeds fan I just believe we finally got rid off bates "

Not quite sure why people think we are rid of Bates, when he's still here? We need him OUT, and that means OUT, not a president who has tarnished leeds name with his lawsuits and the like.

17.) 13 May 2013
Tarnished Leeds name?
Come on, I love Leeds as much as anyone and dislike Bates just as much but, you can't suggest that Bates's litigation dragged our unblemished name through the mud. Reaction to Leeds is still that we are a dirty team (not based on much other than the rubbish written by Southern press and proliferated by generations of fools) and our fans are a pain in the backside. That, unfortunately, is the fault mostly of a minority of our fans.
Opposing fans don't point at Leeds and say; yeah but their chairman is in court for anti-Semitic comments. They point and say; you boys deserve to be where you are because of the behaviour of your fans.

18.) 13 May 2013
The last poster has a point, but nonetheless Bates' behaviour didn't do us any favours either did it? Chapel A

19.) 14 May 2013
GFH have spent money on the club just because not all of it has been on players doesn't mean they have nothing. They kept us afloat last summer financing some of our later moves in august like peltier they financed thomas and tate deals as well as hall, tonge, habibou and barkley okay they didn't all work out but that isn't their fault at least they spent money. They also financed new contracts for Byram and dawson as well as diouf on double his original contract plus signing ALL the second year scholars to pro terms and reducing ticket prices for next year then bringing in a new manager that has already had a good effect on important players such as ross mccormack. Personally i'm happy with that i'm not sure what else they could be expected to do. They said they wouldn't spend crazy money and i'm not sure why anyone would have expected them to in January just a couple of weeks after actually buying the club because it wouldn't be sensible to plough millions into a club that early whether you can afford it or not. Okay becchio was sold but they reported offered him £20k a week which is a very good wage for a championship player and a lot more than Bates ever offered anyone and becchio still asked for more. Get behind them and wait and see what they do in summer
Okay rant over :)
