The QC in charge of the appeal has made his decision and he has agreed with the FL that MC cannot takeover Leeds. The reason for the delay in the announcement is that they have asked him to consider whether plan B, the Farnan group takeover of the club with investment from Cellino would break the rules also. Even though he wouldn't be named on the board or as owner, as he will be the one putting in the majority of the money to buy the club and facilities they want to check whether he would be seen as a shadow director and so blocking this takeover also as that breaks the rules.

The FL ought to have a working knowledge on the application of their own rules without having to ask the QC for his opinion!

Its getting rather messy at Elland Road, the club needs to move on.i am sure another buyer for the club will be found very soon, any other potential buyer will not be dealing with Master Bates.that was the main problem in the past

If this t/o doesn't go ahead then it will mean more months of pain for everyone and sorry but no guar that another buyer will be found, a bird in the hand saying springs to mind

It would not sit well with FFP rules, as it clearly states that "owners" need to "Put money in" for share equity should the 8 or 5 or 3 million permissible loss be exceeded.

Clearly MC will not be the owner, or part owner, so he would be unable to fulfil that part of FFP ruling.

So that's my take on it.

First poster, I think it is us that have asked for it to be looked at not the FL. As you say they know there own rules and we are asking for clarification of them from a QC now rather than the new consortium putting there bid in and then having to go through the appeals process again if it was rejected. Might as well ask now and risk a few days delay rather than find out the hard way if it went wrong

Club needs to move on? there's is nowhere to move to! that's why we have no money and the only assest (the ground) is shrowded in mystery, although Uncle Ken will be involved because he invested £7M of season ticket sales into it, to improve the East Stand. Get this Italian in and fast, I don't care how its constructed.

Surely if MC is not a fit and proper person then he can't be a FPP in the background putting they money in, after Risdale, Bates and GHF wouldn't it be nice to have an owner or consortium that isn't involved in some dodgy financial case. Someone who has LUFC at heart or does honesty and integrity not sit well with multi millions of pounds?

Agree with last post, I think there are lots of ethical millionaires and billionaires out there, Gates and Branson spring to mind. Just seems football attracts the less ethical ones
