I've heard that if mowatt leaves then we will target Zac Clough as an attacking/ midfield option. Birmingham have just had a 750k bid knocked back. If mowatt goes for 5/ 6, then 1.5 on Clough would be a brilliant acquisition in my opinion.

I think you should keep taking the tablets.

People can't seriously think that zac clough would make any difference to our team now we have as good academy players as him now. If he's that good then why are Bolton were they are it's not just a financial position it's on the field to.

Assuming its not reliant on Mowatt leaving I would take Clough in a heart beat at £1.5m. A natural attacking mid/ false nine, which we don't have, to play off wood would be really beneficial. Tbh Mr Smith85 we had some great players when we dropped out of the prem as did Pompey, Wigan, Fulham, etc. Moral plays a big part. Clough has scored 8 in 17 (few of them starts) big player for the future, could make a big difference to us if we could get him.

I think Clough offers something entirely different to what we currently have as a supporting attacking/ midfield option. Like the guy above said, he could slip in to a false 9 dynamic and be given a free role (Messi role) to draw out the center half and allow wide players to cut inside.

If we sell a couple (especially those that don't want to wear the shirt) and buy a few wide players and a solid CB to replace Bellusci, I really think we'd have a squad capable of contending in this division. I would love to see us sign someone like Demarai Gray (I know he has gone to Leicester) but someone like that, young, pacey, ambitious. No affordable names scream to mind though.

I like Clough and playing for the right team he'll be a cracking addition.

Clough is a player who can unlock defences and make things happen. If Mowatt (no pace) is worth £5 million plus then he has to be worth £1.5 million.

5m for Mowatt? Just nearly spat my coffee at the screen laughing.

Try around the 1m mark, has zero pace.

I laughed too at £5m for Mowatt - it's up there with the £8m for Byram! Often left amazed where these prices are pulled from.

In fairness this pricing is based on figures being handed around lately and I don't think they're a million miles off - Ross wasn't worth 11million. He wasn't worth 4 if we're honest. Cellini plays the hands off warning games, and when teams need to to buy and we don't HAVE to sell, it's a sellers market. Latest statements from club "strategy meeting with Evans and Cellino" sounds an awful lot like, here's how we play this and get top dollar. I think 4-5 for Alex is about right for a young, English talent with no contract clauses.

Who said Mowatt's leaving? Clough would be a quality signing, but he will be off to the PL.
