i can understand selling wood for 20 plus. but i can not make sense of selling him now with nobody lined up. i want promotion this season and believe we have our best chance for a decade. this is the poorest championship for a long long time and we have every chance. i don't understand folk saying we should definitely take the cash for wood. why? lufc is not skint. why take away almost 50% of our goals from last season. who else will score even 10 plus. roofe? alioski? not a chance. it does not make sense to sell wood even at 20 miilion.

Because once a player gets premier league interest in there head they start playing like absolute dog poo, which will mean we get less when we eventually do sell them.

Clearly his head is turned already. I reckon between roofe, ekuban, Ali, etc., we will be fine. Can always invest in January if things aren't dropping our way. I don't see this side (without wood) in a relegation scrap. 18mil would be silly money to turn down, I reckon. Would gladly see us spend 5 or so on helander and 5 on someone like Bradshaw

I Love Wood as I do with all the players on our team, But I honestly think last year was a one off for him. I would break Burnleys arm for 20m. This time last year we were talking about only bringing him on in the last 30 minutes as he was so slow. take the 20 I say. MOT

I think with the Wood situation, it all depends! It depends on what the deals actually are in terms of cash now and future money, on how much Wood is really agitating to go and on what alternatives we already have on the table. Someone who really knows the answer to all of that then needs to make a judgement call, it becomes a business decision. Given the recruitment so far, I can't believe that they haven't thought about this as a possibility, therefore there should be a plan b, c, d etc. Or we have really decided that however much we get offered, how ever much Wood wants away, we are just going to say No. personally I think the latter is hard to believe so I hope we've got a good plan b, c and d!

if wood does go. and it is silly money for a great return last season, he reminds me of when beckford scored for fun. but how many did he miss. If mcbadgekisser is linked i'd take him providing he takes a massive paycut to prove he wants to come back and play football, because he certainly does know where the back of the net is.

January isn't the time to buy behave, over inflated prices as values know you are more desperate for the players. Some managers refuse to do any buissines in january.

Fair point, Martyn, but I'm taking about if we were to get there and we're in free fall, crashing through the bottom of the league - which, I absolutely cannot see with our current crop. We snap up someone with a bit about them, I don't see how we won't score goals. We bought wood for 3. If we sell him for 18, we're +15mil. That's a pretty good place to be for Leeds and in this division. I think the above comment is right. If we get wee Ross back, he takes a decent pay cut, to prove his desire to wear the shirt again, and he only costs us 3-6mil, We're up 10mil on Wood, who I honestly don't ever see scoring 30 in a season again, or being valued anywhere close to 15m+. I think we missed a massive trick not trying to get Joe Garner. For 1mil, I think he'll be the signing of the summer for the division. Him or Mendez-Laing at Cardiff, who has started very well.
