Well looking at the league table it’s soul destroying as not so many games ago we were sitting four points clear at the top and now we are 15 points behind top and twelve behind second! I don’t care how you look at it, it’s very sobering and unless things change dramatically I can only see one outcome! So fingers, legs, arms and toes crossed for a win, this game is bigger than ever! This is what happens when there's no spine in a first team. We lost every bit of ours at the same time. Green, Bartley, Birdcage and Wood gone.

When the season started and we were flying I used to read your posts Whiteman and wonder how anybody could be negative while we are winning but now I can see exactly what you meant! It’s like George says about no spine, you put that we weren’t really winning against top teams and you were right! Sunderland bottom, Birmingham, Burton, Bolton, we have only won against Forest, Ipswich and Bristol City that are above us! Things really need to change, whether it’s TC or we need to get players in that know this league because we need grit and passion which we are in dire need of! MOT

You misunderstand Wexy lad. Green should not have been sold but understand why he went. Bartley was never our player to begin with. Bridcutt did go off the boil significantly due to a combination of him being played too deep which caused a lack of motivation and malaise in his play. I agreed with his transfer as I did with Wood because too much money to reject. My point is twofold. We lost our spine simultaneously. All 4 elements. That's a fact. Yes Bridcutt was underperforming but we still lost him. Secondly, these players have not been replaced. Goalkeeper is a nightmare position. Cooper replaced the Bart man. Enough said. There really is no defensive midfield to speak of and Lassoga couldn't trap a bag of cement encased in Iridium. We have no spine. Spineless we are. We also have no LB. We urgently need British reinforcements. Over to Orta but what's he going to do exactly? I can see Oleary coming back into things and I'm telling you right now he won't show it but he'll be hoping for a Boro win so he can take over at least on a caretaker basis.

It's not a misunderstanding George its an observation lots of posters here call for players and managers heads and then 6 months later claim we should have never let them go.

Where was the spine of our team when we were considing no goals and winning game after game. Our problem is accommodating Lassoga
