Bear with me, I'm being a little bit more serious than I usually am. I eluded to it just below. Assuming we still have the £15m from Wood and the £5m from Taylor in the bank, why don't we use that to put a bid in for a very good or world class player who's near the end of his contract? OK wages may be a slight stumbling block but even at £250k per week that works out at £6.5m for half a years worth of service. Then if we don't go up this year, potentially sell him for a massive profit (say £50m) in the summer. Would certainly be a massive show of intent from Radz, could be a nice little investment and would show the world of football that we mean business, if we don't go up this season then it could attract the bigger players and a bigger name coach come the end of the season. Flawless strategy, don't you think guys? #stilldrunkafterbirthdaydrinkslastnight

Happy Birthday mate, couple of problems not sure Sanchez will turn down utd and city for us. Also if he is near the end of his contract he would still have to be brought which might still cost a fee. Don't think we should go for Martin as not good enough for derby why would he work for us? there is players out there but can we afford them? I still think the answer is changing the manager but then I always think that

Think radz said wood sale would be reinvestedin team wex. i'm not sure we would have much more than $8 left though

And what happens when people realise we spend near enough 30m in the summer on players fees, have sold wood to put some of this back in his back pocket, spend a couple million on electronic boards, wasted money on dross like grot, lassoga, cbj, lonergan, cibicki, sacko, and don't forget their wages for the last 6 months. assume for all of those an average wage is around 7000 a week, been 5 months since the season started, that's 20 weeks, 140000 per player, so you're looking at 1m rather than this lots wages, on top of transfer fees of a total 4.5m. i wouldn't expect any more signings, and a dreary finish to another 'what could have been' campaign

Finally sobered up and slept a little now. In my drunken haze that all seemed to make perfect sense. I couldn't believe no one else didn't think of it before me, lol.

A free transfer is not free as the player takes a more significant signing on fee
