As I have said before if we don't get promoted this year we be starting petty much from scratch and putting a team together like that (in one season0 is nigh on impossible. If Saiz and jansson go along with lassoga the only player good enough to get us up is Forshaw the rest are average at best. We have plenty of midfielders but only one is good enough. That's why we are constantly over run in midfield and we don't create enough. Goalkeepers? Enough said. Back four? Beradi. A great trier good biut not very good. Cooper. Average at best. De Bock. Don't think sdo. Midfield? O'Kane, Phillips, Vierra, Not good enough. He should come on but now average. Wide? Dallas Good average. Alioski - not bad when Saiz is playing but still average. Sacko. Pacy but no finish. Hernandez. Quality player but inconsistent and getting on a bit. Chisbiki. Seems average at best. Up front. - Lassoga. Excellent finisher. Technically better than Wood. Give him the ball in the box and he will score more times than not. Doubt whether he will stay. Ecuban ? Runs around a lot. The team? Overall not much there.

Ayling at RB could make it, U23's might throw up a surprise . What you say above about who is good enough is about right, We do have a number of squad players who can act as cove for a number of games . We need to strengthen the spine and a couple of wingers . With the best of what we have it would make a decent squad, 6 or 7 quality additions are needed if we are to be realistic

Jansson is on a 3 year contract and Saiz on a 4. if they go anywhere it will be on our terms.

I think (and hope) that both will be here next season for the big push. Like you say Alf, they are tied to contracts that have plenty of time left. Let's see how loyal they can be to a club that has stood by them. I think they will be loyal.

Not sure how we have stood by jan and saiz but hope they stay. Prob won't but are both $20 mill players. Its a bit unfair criticizing a goalkeeper who I've seen catch the ball at least once in 10-12 games! I take exception about the berahdi being average. Every team needs a player that will leave it on the pitch. We should try him in midfield next to foreshaw. I do fear for next year. As me and the george have said all year. This is a poor league. Next year will be heaps better and harder to get out.

Why do people keep saying it's going to be harder next season? Two of the three that came down last season are relegation fodder and the other one is not top six, and the teams likely to come down at the end of this season aren't exactly going to set the championship alight are they?

I see us getting £25-30m if Saiz and Jansson decide to leave. If Radriazzini keeps both and invests £10m in first-team players in the summer then I honestly see us in the play-offs/fighting for promotion. If we can find £4m GK as good as Forshaw is in midfield and a CB the same then I see us there. move out O'Kane and I think we are there if we keep everyone we need to. I'd assess Ideguichi in the summer before a new midfielder is bought, though I feel I'd like an enforcer type to give the defence some protection. I wish we still had Bridcutt tbh as him and Forshaw would have been formidable imo. I'd lose Cibicki too and unless Sacko shows something between now and the end of the season then him too. I see Vieira really stepping up next season and some first team minutes for some of the U23s surely. Don't forget Roberts injury means he will be like a new signing hopefully before the end of the season. Wilks is scoring goals in his loan spells. At a lower level yes but it at least suggests he is worth a proper look in pre-season. Bailey Peacock-Farrell Temenuzhkov, Tom Pearce, Matty Downing, Halme, Struijk, Jack Clarke, and Sam Dalby all sound like players who could be worth a shot between now and the end of the season once/if play-offs become impossible. I feel its really important to gauge the actual first-team readiness of some of the players in the next three months to better ascertain depth.
