First big detailed post, at the beginning the season would anyone say our squad was worse than millwall Cardiff sheff u Preston, especially when they have players who we deemed not good enough, samba Peltier sharp Morrison, so wats gone so wrong that we are in the position we are, something is wrong, wolves, soton and Norwich have been down to the 3rd tier but bounced back to prem league (Norwich I know aren't there now and soton r coming down) but what did they do so well that we arent, why are teams with smaller budgets doing better.

We don't have enough leaders, do we really have any? . we don't have enough players who can score goals, for as long as I can remember we still don't have a centre mid player who can get anywhere near double figures . we sold a striker for 15 mil and bought one for 500k, had cardiff done that with Zahore they wouldn't be in the top 6 never mind punching for automatic promotion. we lost the spine of our team in Bartley, green and wood. how much have we missed Charlie Taylor's over lapping runs? . all the teams you mention have a style of play and an identity, I aren't sure we have either tbh

2 main problems for many seasons. 1) we are just far too soft in every department. No leaders on or off the pitch. 2) we don't create enough goal chances. Chris Wood last season was an exception. Don't think he is anything special. But without him it's demonstrated just how desolate we are up front. Our forward line couldn't worry a sheep.

How many games did Taylor play in his final season? So in answer to how we have missed his overlaps . not much

Agree with you there Speedy - we lack the steel needed in this league. I'm ok with having some smaller, flair players but we need a steel backbone to win the ball and provide them with a platform to work on. As well as strength we also lack height and that is one reason we suffer in dead ball situations.
