So it's looking like the pessimists amongst us may have been right. Just want to begrudgingly commend George on a simple comment he made. We need to lower our expectations from wanting promotion all the time. It does seem like we will be setting the bar too high if we expect top 6 for the foreseeable future. I am surprised that a smart business man like radz who had 6 months to study Leeds and the championship before Massimo handed over, still got it so wrong. I really now believe that his 5 yr plan has gone pear shape. He obviously thought that a majority of the team we had with a few unproven new additions and a whole heap of youngsters was going to be enough for promotion. He has now seen that a majority of the players are not good enough and it will take a lot more than a sprinkling of youngsters to fix it. I'm thinking he will need min 3 quality players. A bang on experienced cb. Fast creative midfielder and pop em in striker. About $20 mill for the three. Selling 10% of shares I don't think is enough. And quite rightly where has rest of money for wood gone. What do they do with 30,000 gate revenue. When you look at the planning and budgeting for players and managers and scouts that must have been part of the 5 yr plan, it is hard to see that he got any part right. Putting players on long contracts so they can focus on their football has also back fired. Footballers turn into lazy bums when they are safe and secure. The only way forward for me would be to cut and run all the dross. Take a hit on transfer fee and just get rid. Trim squad to 15. Add 3 new ones and then filter younguns as and when. I don't have any confidence in radz or Orta and think things are going to get worse before better. I'm not sure without proper investment whether we can stay up next season. And I'm not sure even with investment heck is capable. So much to put right. It's a shambles.

When an investment company tells you they have a five year plan it does not mean that is a plan to get us in the premier league. Aser buy companies to improve them financially and expect a return on the investment. Hence the quick aquisition of Elland Road so if it goes tits up they still have a prime piece of land near Leeds city center. Yes their investment would be worth a lot more in the Premiership but do not expect big money being invested to get there, hence the share sales. that's why we need shrewd and clued up people at the top scouting and prioritising where the money goes, which we do not have.

Why should we lower our expectations a legion of supporters deserve to be expecting promotion. We are not Chesterfield

The 5yr plan was for Orta to buy 500 18 yr olds in the hope they turned out good enough to get us promoted within 5 yrs. don’t forever lower expectations. But for a yr or two or or. It has been known to reduce stress and make defeat after defeat after defeat slightly more bearable.

Very good post, I think a lot of us are on the same page. I said this last summer, hold out Radz will do a good job. The signings of Lasogga, Saiz, Hernandez's new contract, Alioski, Anita, Jansson permanently, all sounded good, however without Taylor wood and Barts, even Green, I think we forgot where our grounding was. Monk had compiled a good side, but too many of them were on loan, Radz had to tie up 6 or 7 to new deals last season and in my opinion managed to sign 3 of them, Jansson, Hernandez, and Vieira. that's not bad going considering he bought back the ground, and spent on new players too.

Yes they were mostly unproven bar Lasogga and Saiz at a good level, though I think letting T.C. axe green in pre season was the biggest mistake of all. T.C. did a good job on the whole, I think his record was about 48% wins at Leeds. Then January came and he threw another 10 million at the pot to try and recover what was slipping away. and for some reason their plan fell apart when they sacked T.C., as the togetherness broke down completely.

giving coops captaincy was a huge mistake, but I really do think that these are all learning curves for the men upstairs. Orta signed Edmondson, Vieira, ailing, Jansson, Hernandez (twice) to some pretty good contracts, its not always Orta's fault, he may have been blind sighted by agents who just wanted the best and the most money out of dross. Having said that, whys he in the scouting business if his network and research aren't good enough.

I think this summer they'll get it right, in terms of financing the club, media, even a couple of good transfers. the main thing about these two and Kinnear is that they listen to the fans, we needed a left back, they signed one, we needed a cm they signed one, so many of us called for T.C.'s head, he left. I think in the position we are in, yes were in trouble, I think with better quality players Hecky won't do too badly. I'm still not a fan though 4 in 16 is horrible to look at.

Its more about the players we keep, and how they adapt with who we bring in, rather than what went wrong. I won't be dwelling on last season as its done and finished, I think you'll see another few break throughs, and a good summer of recruitment, I just hope they realise that so many of the players need to leave Leeds.
