I’m quite happy to keep BPF in goal, yes he needs some competition to stop him from becoming complacent like a lot of the team did this season but bringing in another young lad on loan won’t be to sit on the bench, with a solid defence in front of him BPF has shown he has the quality to be of a very high class. The rest you have mention I pretty much agree with although I know little about McGin

For a start they could take the £3m they are going to waste on Crapi Jerry and offer Abel a 2 year contract on over £30K a week. Not going to happen though.

Davey What would you rather in terms of being loyal to BPF? Keeping him on his toes with Lonners? Buying another goalkeeper such as Stockdale? Bringing another goalkeeper on loan shows more loyalty to BPF development realistically. Stockdale on say a 2 year deal and he'll demand number one jersey too. BPF is class no doubt. He is our current number 1 but if the opportunity to get Gunn is there you take it as opposed to seeing him end up at a promotion rivals keeping clean sheets. Healthy competition for places way to go. Need cover all round pitch. BPF will get that anywhere else he goes so it might as well begin now at LUFC.

Agree with you metissekit! Dallas is a great utility player to have in the squad, and can cover, or sub in for many positions AND do the job in all of them.

I don't understand why so many have a downer on Dallas, he's an international, he gives his all in every game no matter where he plays.

Stafford It's because to vie for a playoff berth you need better on the wing such as Wilson or Kent. Dallas shouldn't be starting more than 15 games a season in order for us to compete at the top. He's a decent option from the bench and to be deployed to rest other more skilful players.

Dallas is not a forward or winger. Ok for bench and midfield but little threat capabilities. I wouldn’t get Gunn or Stockdale. Bff has aren’t right to start so get someone willing to push him but have bench time. Fernandez just won’t happen. Forget him.

BPF should have the jersey for the next season. He deserves it and will only get better. Will another young keeper improve the squad, we have two one of which is an England player so no don't think so. Experienced back up would be good to work with the young ones we have. Got to agree Dallas is a good solid player but not one to start with. Maybe the way we have been playing has stifled him a bit but handy to have around,

Great posts in this thread, good to see us finally considering a good quality first team keeper. Forget all the rest, I might be singing from the 16/17 songsheet here but we need barts in the squad before anyone. he'll excite me as a signing more than any of the others, purely because of Hernandez injury record.

I didn't mean Debbie should start every game, but give the lad some credit for sticking at it no matter what, if a few more of the team were as committed as he then we would have finished considerably higher than 13th

George I agree that BPF should be given some competition to keep him on his toes but someone like Gunn isn’t going to sign on a season loan to sit on the bench and encourage BPFs development is my point. He needs an experienced keeper that can pass knowledge tips and game management on aswell as provide a cast over his shoulder to keep his performances of a high standard
