What is going on with our supposed transfer policy ? Have the three stooges blown so much smoke up Bielsa's backside that he believes that he can get a tune out of the shower that performed so poorly ? I believe that players will improve under quality coaching but it is unlikely to turn the likes of Cooper into Beckenbauer. Protracted transfer discussions about players without getting a firm understanding as to what package they were looking for. Players such as Bartley going for a song and we are not in the mix for a player that was identified as the number one target. People on twitter claiming to be ITK suggesting that Bielsa did not want Bartley as he did not fit his style of play. When are we going to go after a player who does fit his style of play ? Anyone brought in towards the end of this week would have missed three weeks of preseason and surely will take time to get used to Bielsa's tactics. It appears, on face value, to be an absolute shambles.

Bartley was ideal and sure he would have adapted. You are spot on anyone we buy will need to get used to Bielsa style of play and we are running out of time. We should have at least 3 players in place now. Once again we will end up with what's left or some unknown from Uzbekistan. Think we have a squad capable of competing but no where near a squad capable of going up unless all the young ones really are superstars i hope so.

Kyle Bartley himself is mystified why Leeds haven't tried to sign him, Leeds is his preferred choice as were supposed to have wanted him back for months so why hasn't it happened, would strengthen defence no end, what's happened to the exciting summer Kinnear promised, he now states were going to give the loan market some hammer, wheres all the season ticket money he said would be spent on players plus the 10 million investment, badly let down yet again

When Bartley and Janson were together the defence was way better than Cooper and Janson could be they don't wanna spend any money as well we've plenty of creativity in midfield he would shore up the defence, that's what's needed, whos to say he couldn't fit in with Bielsas demands? summats not right at Leeds others are doing good business in this so called hard market why not us

Sorry Ed, there may be better ball players than Bartley but at the moment we only have Cooper and he is worse than Bartley. Time still to get players in but we appear, on face value, to have no strategy therefore supporters will bemoan the missed opportunity of signing a player who did well for us.

{Ed001's Note - so you just want a lot of money spunked on someone not good enough just because you don't like the current players? Personally I would rather my team bought the right players, rather than a never has been that can't stay fit for an entire season.}

It’s a matter of opinion whether Bartley is good enough and therefore a matter of opinion as to whether the money would be “spunked”. Do I think that Bartley is an improvement on Cooper ? Yes. Do I think that Bartley was one of our stand out players in the 2016/17 season ? Yes. Do I think that Bartley got the best out of Jansson ? Yes. Again matter of opinion but I think the majority of supporters would agree on those points. What we do not know is what the club are doing to bring in a defender that is better than Bartley and until we do then I (and others) have every right to be concerned regarding the lack of transfer activity. I have shown my commitment by again renewing my season ticket, now it is time for the club to demonstrate theirs. A good start has been made by bringing in Bielsa but he is not going to improve the current crop to make them into promotion contenders (again matter of opinion)

Well said Notts, we also know he is proven in the championship, Biesla may bring a centre back in that ‘suits his style’. but will he be able to play against championship fwds/formations other managers use? . like I say we know Bartley can,3.5 is not money spunked on a proven player
