So what we are saying to BPF is; yes I know what we all said about you last year, but this year your just not good enough and we are replacing you. So get used to the bench you will be seeing a lot of it in the next few years (uless you move on and we lose you)

Leo I welcome Blackman. Competition for a place. We once had 2 quality keepers vying for No.1 spot, 17 years ago. Didn't damage us then. Goalkeepers can lose form and get injured just like outfield players. It's a good move.

I am all for competition George but this I do not see as competition or any help to BPF whatsoever. A better choice in my eyes would have been Fraser Forster, Southampton, offered on loan. I have no problem with Blackman as a GK I rate him. My concern is for the progress of BPF.

Leo That's what coaching is for. I'm sure Abad will handle the goalkeepers professionally. A rival for your shirt is part of the game. Has to happen to BPF some point in his career, may as well be now. I'd rather Blackman than Forster who is more senior, paid too much and could be disruptive. I just hope we land a couple of central defenders who will assist either of these developing goalkeepers keep clean sheets.

Having taken more time to think about it, I think they will be sitting down with BPF and saying "look, you started last season as third choice, you are now vying for number 1, and a certain number 2. Keep developing, and you will be rewarded duly. " I think he will defo be playing the cup games too.

Not sure of your point Whitey. LUFC requires a goalkeeper because the others they had on their books were complete garbage. Miazek becomes no.3. Blackman shall become no.2 albeit with a realistic chance of no.1 at some point in the future. It's the correct motivation to BPF as opposed to saying to him keep your performances sharp because this German 30 year old isn't breathing down your throat because every football to him is like handling a bar of soap and this 38 year old never was has been called Lonergo who can only kick a ball as hard as I can urinate isn't breathing down your throat either. Who would you rather they go for? Be happy we are securing quality not dross.

Blackman is a better keeper imo. Bailey as back up /competition Makes sense and will probably get us about 10 more points than last season. Whilst BPF came in and did well, we still kept conceding in games. Blackman will dominate the box more.

Blackman will start as No. 1. Chelsea would not have loaned him out to sit on the bench.
