Good to win although reviews were a bit damning.
I got to agree with Bermo. I think Bielsa has done well and I do admire his ability to get the most out of the players.
But there are a few worrying signs here.
Performances have slumped. Energy levels are beginning to cause gaps in the team formation. Last night subs were used for a change but Bielsa has a persistent to stick by the same players which will result in fatigue and more injuries. We have been playing below par for 4 weeks now and no sign of improvement. It was, I believe his decision not to add more players to the squad, which was at the time a bit naieve and is proving the case. I think the defence are playing well. And kp mostly and Klich but I don't think the rest are consistent enough to play week in week out. It's a heavy weight to put on Roofe and hern to come in and miraculously change our form. Let's hope the injured loanee comes good soon and makes a diff.
I'm onviously happy with position and this league seems a lot easier than I expected but at the moment we are living on borrowed time and our performances and finishing needs improving quickly.

Aus, we’ve played 5 championship games in just over 2 weeks, with the same team, lost once, drawn against joint leaders, drawn a game in which we had 25 chances and the other team scored a wonder goal, beat Preston 3-0 and won a game in a stadium where we hadn’t won for 10 years . We had a dreadful 30 mins against Birmingham and couldn’t pull it back. Don’t think that’s a slump in performance.

The 4 missing players mean we are missing some creativity and the flexibility of being able to change it up a bit. But, Roberts wouldn’t have had a chance and Harrison wouldn’t have had as much game time, both of which has improved the squad. Jack Clarke is training and travelling with the first team and getting bench time, a good thing.

I don’t think the league is easy, look at the points spread in the table, it’s very tight with some good teams in there and every game is going to be tough. Middlesbrough drew at Hull, Preston got a 3-3 draw at Villa, Birmingham got a draw at Brentford.

Bielsa is building a team with spirit and part of that is trusting and showing confidence in the players. Last nights win was really important, showed we could get a tough one nil, but also massively important for Roberts. Not only does he work hard, get in good positions, but he can get a goal like that.

I don’t think his plan is naive and I certainly don’t think you can say it’s been proved to be naive yet. let's get to the international break and regroup a bit and see what the team and bench look like after that.

Agree Spanish.

I agree Aus although I can see where Spanish is comign from

Of course we are doing well, but recent fixtures have been very kind and our performances and points tally against them worrys me

I think we are good, and I am pleased but to be honest i don't think we will go up.

i was watching the debate and both 'experts' on there said the same we might struggle and favor borough and brom to go up, i sadly agree with this over course of season,

i just hope we make playoffs as that keeps the season alivie and i don't care what devision we are in just don't want us to fade like last year.

People favour boro and brom because they don't play nice football and have more prem quality than us. I think bielsa came here to win the league, the only other manager in the league with that sort of attitude for me is pulis. 22 points from 11 games is phenomenal, why are we complaining? roofe and Hernandez will fix any errors people are discussing, we will keep brentford out as jansson and cooper are playing exceptionally, i'm not worried I agree with Spanish. some fans on here only seem to be happy when its 100% win ratio, we won last night, i'm not bothered about a few off performances personally as they are not our most crucial players, you can expect an attacking quartet of Hernandez, saiz, brown, roofe as the eason goes on, 1 of these 4 is currently starting games, and will improve when the quality around him improves. you've then still god bamford, Roberts, Clarke, edmondson, dallas, alioski, Harrison, baker, who could all play there, what's the worry boys, keep positive.

I agree berm. I get you too Spanish but history teaches me to air on the side of caution rather than optimism.
I have seen enough to say on our day we can play a bit but so can most sides on their day. I have also seen enough to say most of the time we can be pretty average.
The Defense is good which is the biggest factor. And as you say Spanish lots of inconsistent other results.
I don’t think the rest of the team have really the fitness, football brain or skill to consistently deliver what Bielsa wants. We are about 2/ 3 quality players short. But we all know that.

Roofe and Hernandez will fix any errors.
We shall see. I hope so.
But I think a lot more gone wrong since their injuries.
I’m happy with position. I’m happy with result.
But I ain’t going to say all is roses in the garden when it clearly isn’t!

not sure people fancie brom and borough because they don't play nice football. wolves play nice football and everyone fancied them. I think people favour us and rate us more becuase of the style of football we play and rightly so.

I don't expect a 100% win ratio and games like sheff wed i can write off. I think we have improved but seen us a lot this season and sorry i don't fancy us to go autmoaticly. Seen some great performances but derby and stoke were false performances due to when we played them, milwall, brum where both awful performances, sheff and hull were decent but not promotion performances in my opinion.

I am positive we are better and happy with playoffs I just think some on here are far too confident and positive, that said good for them, great to be positive and happy rather than me sitting here thinking 'ohh we will be lucky to finish 5th and I think i am going bald'

Ausman excellent post on our problems, if we can and it’s a big if! make it to the January window and he buys well, we may be ok but it’s going to be a long road. Keep them coming Ausman.

Problem is we are everyone’s cup final

Look how teams step up against us

Nothing is won in October

Any championship team can beat anyone

We’re doing ok so far and that’s all you can say. Champions grind out results but let’s sew how we’ve done come May

There will be defeats, even “ slumps”. Those games tell you everything about the team. It’s always how you react to a loss that matters.

Don’t get me wrong, I love what’s going on at the club and think we are going in the right direction but still far too soon to say what’s going to happen to anyone!

Let’s get through to New year, still in touch with the top two, then it’s all up for grabs.

Out of West Brom, Middlesbrough, we are clearly the underdog in terms of spend, so you’d expect them to do better than us really. But I don’t think either of them are like a Wolves yet. Still all to play for! Already bought two new players for the new year, Bamford and Brown!

Dread to think what the postings on here would be saying if we weren’t top of the league. There is no team in this division that is likely to walk it. Week on week there will be unlikely or unexpected results from all the teams in this division. That is what makes it so exciting for neutrals and painful for supporters.

Do not forget we have 22 from 11 and that rate of return puts a team in with a chance of automatic promotion. And definitely a play off spot.

agree spanish there is no wolves of the divsion this year, it is far more even and open and if cardiff can do it no reason why we can't this year.

Funny with all this negativity when the 'ull manager said we're the best team he's seen in the Championship for years. And, Bielsa naïve? well, he would be wouldn't he, only been a manager for 30 odd years.

well, 11 games gone and we're bang on target, average 2 points a game and we'll be there or thereabouts, however, the next 11 games I'm looking at a few more than 22 points, and if we do better than a draw away at the Baggies then we might start to pull away like Wolves did last season.
