Sorry if I've missed this and someone has already posted but just seen that the away team gets just £10k for a game live on Sky. So we have 3 away fixtures in a row and get £30k - wow!

Correct G Man, mind you, it is the magnificent sum of £100,000 for the home games, with an extra £20K for a Sunday game. Dunno what sort of viewing figures other teams are getting but Leeds regularly pull in over 400,000 viewers, I suppose it's because the Championship is a "second rate product" when you see Stan, tell him :)

{Ed001's Note - it is because it is on the red button. If it was a main game the value would be different.}

Are you sure Ed001? I was under the impression that featured games, like Villa v Leeds, was a £100k and £10K with less being paid for red button games. And absolutely no consideration whatsoever to the travelling fans :)

{Ed001's Note - either way it is nowhere near enough for the disruption it causes for the fans that go. Without whom the game would not be half as exciting.}

I don’t know what they get for red button but the away team get a fixed £10k for the Championship for the featured game. Was an article a while ago saying Villa were in 19 times last year for total of £840k. Mad.

{Ed001's Note - that is ridiculous. What a stupid deal the EFL agreed there.}

It's so ridiculous, no wonder we and (almost) all the other clubs were up in arms when the FL committee voted to take the new deal. It was an unanimous vote so the 3 championship reps thought it was good, the 3 of them are perennial no-hopers so are quite ok with taking a share of the money generated by the big clubs. I hope they get relegated and see how much they get in League 1 :)
