I think we are all happy we are top and pretty sure we will all be chuffed to stay there. But even a blind man can see we need reinforcements. So if we don't get them we will be lacking in strength in depth.
So it's logical to fear for the second half of the season. Blind hope is admirable but does not take into account The amount of young youngsters needed for rest of season and the knack Leeds have of falling short.
Biesla might do it and hope he does.
But a level head says as is, he won't.
We may beat derby. But we have difficult games ahead and I'm pretty sure with 3 additions we will do better than without 3!

I tend to agree Ausman but we must remember that this is a new way of doing things for lufc and from top to bottom of the club there seems something that has clicked with bub and the directors. Even what I read on here is mostly positive and when we lose great support comments. So I say may just maybe a few new gems will step up from u23s and a goalie but Derby and everyone else can and will (mostly) be beaten. The sign of a genius so they say is one who keeps a calm level head while all those around him falter. Our man bub is that genius I say. 2-1 tonight. MOT.

With Coops back tonight we should have enough in defence to hold off Derby, allow them one goal for BPF and we need 2 to win. My money is on Roofe and Klich to get our goals.

Aus, I don’t think it’s “blind hope” when we have a half a season of performance, injuries and “ makeshift” teams to go on. Blind hope comes at the beginning of the season, when there are no performances to base judgment on.

The differences now are the loss of Saiz without knowing how effective Brown will ever be, and the loss of Baker.

We were coping without both of them anyway by the end b So much depends on your view on how much contribution Brown can make and how quickly. We probably have under 23s who could take Bakers place on the bench!

I could take Baker's place on the bench, probably on the field as well :)

Exactly Al, not a lot has changed really. Bailey is Bailey and we’ve coped with him so far! Don’t not think the absence of Saiz cost us the games we lost.

We are all panicking because the window is open and this is the last chance to adjust the squad before seasons end.

There is no point bringing players in for Bielsa not to pick them. If they are going to warm the bench or squad place better to use the under 23s and give them a chance.

What I love about Bielsas approach is that it is all about making the absolute best use of the playing resources we have. You can see with what he has been doing with Roberts that he is always thinking ahead about what might happen.

It’s exactly as he says, any new players have to be better than the likely 18 plus that we have and worth any disruption or the loss of opportunity for anyone else.

I disagree Spanish. I sorta see your logic and am always impressed with your posts but I’m not sure you take into account injuries. Age. Experience. Mentality. Ability. Etc. think it’s very much stats with a lot of you. We are top of the table. Yes. But.

I agree. With a finite amount of money now, is it better to spend at this time for an unknown future or keep your powder dry til the summer when we we know which division we are buying for and hopefully swell the kitty with Premiership money.

Can think of a lot of turkeys signed in January
