We played well enough but carried on where we left off after half time at Reading. Created chances but didn't take them. It was becoming clear half way through the second that they were going to do to us what we did to them at Bramhall Lane. It's a well known saying 'don't take tour chance when you're dominating your likely to lose' I still think we will be in the top four and I've always thought automatic promotion is unlikely. We are too inconsistent and when the expectations are at their highest we don't produce. The pressure wasn't as great at West Brom. We were just looking to bounce back and give a better performance. No one would have complained if we played well enough and dropped points. Completely different on Saturday where everyone was lashing at shots and getting carried away with the occasion. Still we played well. Can't say we deserved more because if you don't score you deserve exactly what you get. Unfortunately we haven't a natural goal scorer. We have forwards who score from time to time given enough chances but no actual goal scorers. Personally I think we will finish third or fourth and hope our 50ish years hoodoo on winning knockout competitions goes away. Seen too many disappointments.

We are THIRD

Brilliant

I looked back at a few texts I sent to mates at the beginning of this season and the tone was worried

I hadn't heard of Biesla before. I was gutted that we didn't win the battle to sign Bartley as I thought Coopee wasn't up to the Championship. I was worried that Henandez, Saiz and Alioski were too lightweight for the rough and tumble of the Championship. Bamford had been signed, but I thought he was a wasted talent and a waste of our hard earned money.
I predicted a relegation struggle.

So, my thoughts aren't doom and gloom.

We are THIRD. I never saw that coming.

We have a manager that has taken the same players that dropped off a cliff between January and April 2018 to top spot this season.

We have an U23 squad that is chomping at the bit to get in the first team

We had investment from San Fran 49ers, and they don't back losers.

We were in a legitimate £10m transfer in January. Not some hyped up story to sell season tickets, but really trying to seal the deal

Bloody brilliant

Do you know what, if the unthinkable happens and we don't reach the PL (Premier League or Promised Land) this year then it's not going to ruin my life. My team have made me smile more times than they have made me frown this season. Good Times.

Hess are you a Blade lol I think there wasn't much lashing at shots, we were very unlucky they blocked loads of attempts and didn't even know they did it. Also I appreciate its a Derby and top 2 3 battle, but the WBA game had its equal pressures, if we had lost where would be be then. I Agree to disagree my friend on some of your points. still MOT.

Always can agree to differ just my take on events not just the Sheffield game. As I said overall we outplayed them up to eighteen yard line. As for lashing at shots. Lost count at Reading second half then Hernandez, Bamford and Harrison on Saturday. There were also scuffed ones to add to the lashes. Not one shot on target! I've said for some time I think we will finish in top but probably not automatic. Hope I'm wrong - I've seen too many nearlys.

The shots on target stats are somewhat misleading, blocked shots don't count as shots on target. Hitting the woodwork doesn't count either, even if it goes in, mistifying 🤔.
