At the start of the year, few people would have predicted that Norwich would be looking like champions and Sheffield and Leeds would be contesting the second automatic place. West Brom and Villa have seen their manager go under the pressure of expectation and Boro could be close to doing the same.

My feelings are that Norwich, Sheffield and ourselves have out performed expectations by finding a way for the team to outperform the sum of its parts. 3 managers who have done a cracking job. I honestly believe that the 2 that go up automatically, given the run in will be the two that deserve to. I hope the third goes up through the play off because I think they are the 3 best team performances in the league this year.

To be in 3rd place by 1 point with 6 to play is hardly failure and better than most on here were predicting when the season kicked off.

I honestly don't see the point in predicting doom and gloom when promotion is still very definitely to play for. Let's see the reaction on Tuesday and then how Sheffield respond to the pressure.

Too right, I can see 18pts, 3 winnable away games same at home were we have the 12th man.

Good post Spanish. I think the frustrating thing is we are so close and to fail now after being there for so long would be awful. However a sadistic part of me would love to go up through the playoffs, a nice day out at Wembley and a triumphant win would be amazing ( forget the Donny game) .
What has been frustrating is the amount of possession with lack of goal conversion the final third has let us down for most of the season.
On yesterday's game i saw the highlights and the Bamford chances were not easy, felt for the lad, but he will come good. Tough game Tuesday. MOT.

A very fair assessment Spanish, and my thoughts last night too. I think they should scrap the playoffs this season, and just promote the top 3! 🤔.

Agreed that it's all still to play for and believe we will beat the blades into 2nd. Wonder how we will do missing Pablo. I honestly think MB didn't want to play Roofe yesterday but had no option.

very true

it is all about perspective, on one hand we have played great football and far exceeded what i thought we would do. i'd of bite your hand off at start of season for this.

however sorry to be negitive but keep dropping points to relegation fodder is very dissapointing and to be top and xmas and not go up (which might happen) is heartbreaking.

I don’t believe that anyone is predicting doom or gloom, just how they see it, what happens if we loss all the next three what can we call all the other posters on this who are call us doom and gloom, well I have some which won’t get posted if I post them! They all said we would get 3 points from Norwich, didn’t then 3 points for SU and didn’t, 3 points from Birmingham and didn’t, you can out play every team you play but if you don’t score you don’t win, You all go the the game can’t you see that, to all those who call us non Leeds fans or negative, or doom and gloom’s get real, yes it’s still possible but very unlikely based of form.

Whiteman, it’s a shame you think promotion is unlikely given how much the positions have changed over the last week. Let’s see where we are by the end of next Saturdays game. I hope you are wrong as I’m sure that you want Leeds to get promoted as much as I do. Fingers crossed mate. I never give up on anything until there is no chance of what I want happening.

Whiteman. You’re quite clearly as much of a fan as the rest of us here, just with a different perspective, and there’s nowt wrong with that pal. It’s life. Your recent posts have had a balanced perspective from what I’ve read, so don’t go defensive, just keep posting.

Based on form? We've lost 2 out of the last 9, hardly relegation form is it?

Spot on Al, it’s not form that’s the issue, on form we should have beaten Birmingham and on form there I only one team left doing better than us that we have to play, Villa. Most of our key defeats have been against the form book.
