This is not the same team that brought me such joy, climbing the table. Amongst other things the missing element, that others have, is consistency and that, I believe, is due to the quality (or lack of it) running through the squad. Bielsa can raise them to outperform on occasions but unfortunately not enough times. There are times when they play to their very average level and this drags those around them down to a very average performance. IF, Bielsa stays (and I hope he does) the close season will be very interesting if he is backed by the owner (whoever that may be) New QUALITY blood is needed. Unfortunately there are too many journeymen filling spaces.

Not the time yet to have the debate, but if we don’t go up not sure Bielsa will want to stay. If he does he needs to be clear on what he has learnt this year and what needs to be changed. Then the club needs to decide if they can support that. I think Bielsa has kept the team with him this year because right until the very end we have been up there. If ultimately the experiment doesn’t come off then I think it will be a good time for a quick but focused rethink.
