Ok I think this is a longshot but I keep seeing us linked with gayle. Seeing him linked suggests active looking for a striker, now I hope this means bamford could be on his way. Only way I'd have gayle is permanently. Could also mean that roofe may be off though and I wouldn't want that.

Hearing rumours of Gayle + 10 million for clarke and Phillips.

I know there's love there for both players, and its obvious why, but I'd take that. 10 million will get you far in this league, and assuming you can offload bamford, that's a good deal.

Also would like rid of Saiz, keep cooper, but please keep roofe, and phillips if possible. Clarke I think we could make good money on.

Still stand firm that roberts is a great bit of business, and when he starts scoring he could be a real premier league player.

Slight problem Sami, Gayle is on £55,000 per week.

Clark is not for sale he’s one for the future, radz need to be running the show not let other dictate how and what, give them the deal or move on, no hanging around or we will be left again with nothing.

So is casilla for the next 4 years. Offloading sacko, cibicki, grot, ideguchi, ekuban, okane, anita, de bock, will surely help cover that?

clarke is an amazing player him and shacks are the two I don't want to lose anyone else can go.

clarke if he goes must get upwards of 20 million if that's what city want for harrsion

I hope we keep roofe and pontus but will not lose to much sleep if they go.

i will be devistated if we lose clarke or shacks, let's build a team around them.

Good call Samo but who would want them. Actually I would like to see Ideguchi given a chance. We have no idea how good/ bad he is right now. I also have a soft spot for Jay Roy Grot. If Roofe and Bamford go he would be a back up option.

Gayle is a non starter, the figures tell you that. Better we use what we have got and bring in some younger fresher hungrier blood from League 1/ 2.

Let's say Gayle is £55,000/ w

The football season is 9 months, or approximately 40 weeks

So to use Gayle and his incredible Championship scoring ability it will cost us £2.2m

And the agreed payback from Premiership membership is about £150m

I reckon those figures add up very nicely

Or here is another tack

Now that Shackleton has broken in to the first team there will be less need to keep hold of Forshaw.
We bought him for £4.5m, so let's say we move him on for half of that, or £2.2m
I think I saw it written he was on around £10k/ w so his wage saving over that 9 month period is another £400k

Hey, I think I found us a bargain!

(Oh, and before certain people jump on to the bandwagon of Radz won't do it because he didn't move heaven and earth for Dan James. the fact is that when we went in for James he was just a kid with a lot of potential. Gayle is the real McCoy at this level. Injury free he is a 20 goal a season striker. James will never be that)

£2.2m is a bargain for such a prolific striker axe - I would jump at that for like you say a 20+ goals a season man.

ALF, just treying to think logically

I know I haven't included any "loan fee" that I have heard bandied about these days but if we looked at a loan-to-buy situation I reckon any such loan fee is do-able too

After all, if he is good and leads us to the Prem he would probably want a shot at it, and we would have a productive striker working to the managers ideas.

Missed somat. Is Gayle’s contract up? If he’s a free, then there will be people all over tapping him up.

Yes Samo, or O'Dowda.
