" We will have to run a difficult summer in terms of the transfer market"

Is there really anyone on here who didn't think it was going to be a difficult summer after missing out on promotion?

We can all snipe from the sidelines with absolutely no responsibility for anything that happens, he and his staff can't!

We have a manager who really we shouldn't have who is effectively on a one year rolling contract and who is wanted by other clubs.

We have 3/ 4 players wanted by premiership clubs and who could all, not unreasonably welcome the opportunity to play in the premier league and earn good money.

We have a shed load of loanees returning to Elland Road needing to be paid by us unless we can find them other clubs!

Which part of all that wasn't going to be difficult?

Please find this " all Leeds" fan with billions of pounds that they can afford to throw at running a football club at a loss and within the fair play rules! There really seems to be a shortage of them coming forward so far.

For me Radz, Orta and Bielsa have done a lot right but made some key mistakes and although that has produced the best football for ages, a team chasing automatic promotion for all of the season and a play off place, we missed out on the big prize. But it's been a hell of a lot better than most before it for 15 years!

Clarke will go if Clarke, his parents and Harte want him to go and it's going to be very hard to stop him if that is the case. Just as happens to virtually every other club in the land! And if we are going to sell him why would we not want to get as much money for him as we can?

Spanish.
Surely if you were Clarke you'd rather stay at a championship club, than move to a club that's in the champions league final (possibly champions) earn 6 times as much money and live in that there London. Also be able to punch well above his weight in the girlfriend stakes. Ooh, it would be a tough decision to make! 😂😂.

Norwich sold the Murphy brothers and Maddison in recent season

They just got promoted!

Although I like Clarke he is far from the finished product and not nearly as effective in games as others have been.
I would be fine with his sale (although £10 seems a low price when the above transfers are looked at, and a Bristol city fullback has just gone for £13m) if I saw it re-invested in the out and out goalscorer that we obviously need.

I would rather Clarke sold than Roofe or Phillip's

I think Jansson's actions in the last Villa game mark him out as a possible SELL too. Loved what he did, but the manager saw 10 other players working to his plan. Pity, but we need 11 working to the plan to have any chance.

Well said Spanish - too many neg heads on here who seem to want to go back to the Bates days. They should be careful what they wish for.

What evidence is there of Bielsa wanted by other clubs. Just asking.

I agree Spanish and it is not a given that a massive amount of spend means promotion. Both Norwich and Sheff Utd had a net spend less than £6m whilst Forest probably spent 5 times that. Although you don't have to spend loads, it is important that you get quality for what you do spend (not easy to achieve) . Our net spend was circa £2.5m which is not a lot and we also did not utilise the loan market sufficiently. Whilst it is not necessary to spend loads this has to be tempered with the point that it is also difficult to achieve promotion on the cheap. On this point I feel that we fell between two stools.

If his heart not in it, forget it we only want those who want to be at Leeds no matter how good they think they are.

Danum, of course if I was in his position I’d stay at Leeds, buy a detached in hanging heaton and marry a local girl!

Agree Notts and Axe. Wex “ evidence” always difficult to find but the Spanish press here are linking him with two clubs possibly interested. Always difficult to know until something concrete happens. I think this year Bielsa has shown both what he can do and can’t do! But it did keep us in contention for promotion until the last but one game of the season. That might appeal to some.

Sounds just right and be happy.

I'm afraid you're in a market now where you either spend big and get the right or wrong players or you twiddle your thumbs and definitely get the wrong players.

Pukki was a one-off, that was THE season of his distinctly average career. Unfortunately for us, Norwich had the inner belief to ride the wave.

Norwich and Sheff Utd have both spent more than Leeds in the past three seasons combined, that is a fact. As have the rest of the top 6.

Whiteman, it’s always healthier to be happy! Happy that we were in contention for so long, happy we made the playoffs, happy about the under 23s and under 18s but critical of the failure to make the most of the opportunity we had and wanting to really understand why. It’s not impossible to feel both!

Wex just to add to the Spanish stories they are saying that a number of clubs are waiting to see what happens with Bielsas discussions with Leeds but that there is some interest.

RE Your reply to Danum.

I did exactly what you said!

Except I married a girl from Pudsey, and it was a semi!

Born and bred there. Hence my moniker. Knew you had a connection there from an earlier post (long time ago) .

Not there now, gone to warmer climes, but normally visit at Christmas and get my yearly visit to ER. Not this year though as No.2 son couldn't get tickets.

😁😁.

There once was a girl from pudsey who always wondered should she
But Tewit said yes and you know the rest
As she was such a lovely!

Good one Tewit! Where are you based now, is it Spain from memory?

Born in a house on consiston road, Hanging Heaton, Dewsbury, Batley, if anyone knows the area. My parents moved away when I was one but my grandparents lived and died there so always went back and went to Elland Road. Still have a very big soft spot for the area.

Spanish.

Born on Coniston Road! I was born on Common Side.

When I married my Pudsey lass (not Diana Rigg) we moved to just off Bennett Lane, the other side to Coniston. Had all our kids there and still have our house there.

After having a very hectic working life, that entailed travelling world wide, I retired early. Not living in Spain, but in the next country north. Very very happy, content and enjoying the very quiet rural life. Drinking lots of wine, eating good food and watching Leeds electronically.

When I get over happy and need depressing I just try reading all the doom, gloom and totally negative posters on here, but found that it doesn't really work. So don't even bother with them anymore. Why do they do it? Maybe they are only happy when they are miserable (one of my Mum's favourite sayings) 😁

Maybe one day our paths will cross and we can have a pint or two, or three? The Peacock would be good before a Leeds game. Or maybe even in Hanging Heaton Cricket Club or the Fox and Hounds. 🍻🍻🍻

Enjoy your life mate, take care and stay happy.
