Reading today that Bub looking to shorten the PR tour, which says Bub is more concerned with fitness, tactical awareness and players being familiar with different systems. That being said Aus and Italy will almost certainly happen so personally I hope we send the kids to Italy for the jolly.

Even then all the things Bub wants to work on and places so important are hampered by the PR branding commitments.

A bigger concern is WHO we are playing in Aus, if we go hung ho there’s a real possibility of a serious injury to a key player, and if we truly friendly it there’s a chance of a morale demoralising defeat which may upset the players but almost certainly has the potential for some fans to lambast the team.

For myself friendlies are for all the things I mentioned before of course winning becomes a habit and boosts confidence but who remembers or truly cares what our preseason records were once the season commences.

Still not in our hands is it, so I hope Bub gets his way ( he tends too) and everyone is fit and ready to go when the business end starts.

But it does give me hope that we can find what we need, at a price we can afford.
