Axe comparing Roofe to Bamford is a bit unfair Roofe signed as a wing forward and last season his first in centre forward role.

Wex, as ttiao says, striker is Roofe's preference - he clearly feels that he can be as effective as Bambam in that position, so if he's happy to make the comparison it could be argued
that it seems fair game for fans to do likewise. However, I will concede that yours is also a valid argument.

So, when considering the contention that Bambam is crap, a fairer comparison would be between him and other experienced strikers. Looking at last season, his minutes per goal stats were worse only than Gayle, Pukki, Abraham, Maupay, Sharp and McBurnie, and those with worse stats included JayRod and Adams, the latter of whom caused us all sorts of problems and both of whom have just been bought by Prem teams (though admittedly both the respective teams are more likely to be scrapping against relegation again rather than chasing upper mid-table respectability) . In pursuit of scrupulous fairness, if comparing Bambam with Gayle, Pukki et al, it should be remembered that he did not have a pre-season worth speaking of and was rarely if ever fully match fit last season.
