woke up this morning hung over and gutted

spoke to loads of charlton fans who went to game (they are nice blokes) they said we played good football but didn't really worry them and they always thought they would score

the stats also back up that it is the same old same old

many here bemoan the attack. i get that to have 70% of ball and not score it poor

but some say defence is not the problem

having 70% of ball and not scoring is just as bad and the same as conceeding when they only had 30% of ball

we can't put ball in net, we can't keep ball out of net. this is not great in football

fact it was from a corner is even more worrying

i was worried when we sold pontus. he wasnt great but better than what we have (physically)

patterns of play is very worrying. things need to change

i said many times i think belisa is not the man to take us up. the defence recuritment is nothing 'short' (see what i did there) of a joke

im always first to call for managers head and did so a few weeks back, i even put money on it. i hope he don't make me right but i can't see promotion again so angry and frsutrated.

Pontus wasn’t great? I disagree. He’s 30/ 40% better than Cooper. Casilla is an awful keeper we have gone backwards from last season.

Morning berm and LUFC family.
Berm I share your frustrations to some degree, why is it so difficult for us to score goals and defend from corners.
IMO we are the best side in this league but we haven’t shown that in terms of results.

It’s same frustrating issue from last season, not killing teams off. The way I see it is we seem to be drilled at always trying to scoring the ‘perfect’ goal - never going to happen.

Pontus has gone, end of, we need to move on from that. Do we bench Kiko? Don’t know, I never understand why we don’t have a man on each post when defending corners and set pieces.
KP brilliant player, why does he take free kicks and corners when there are obvious better deliverers of the ball from these than KP from attacking set pieces. When was the last time we scored from a corner? Free kick set piece.

If players were just confident enough to have a crack at goal from outside the box more we may score more. Opposition pack their defence so we can rarely convert attacking play to score.

Can’t believe some fans are singling out individual players and the manager is just ridiculous.
We’re Leeds United and we’re not top of the league, so f***ing what! We will be again, the players will come through this. Lot of games to play yet.

Frustratingly (at the mo) Onwards and Upwards.

Bielsa apparently told the players to stay positive and our luck will change, and that they have to go on a run starting with WBA so it was reported by Liam cooper. So all down to luck then, sure Hope this luck arrives soon.

Bielsa deserves a second shot at taking us up even though his record of failing to improve on his first season at clubs is worrying. Is there anyone who can take us from 90% there to 100%.

alf I agree i love pontus and twice the player cooper is and physically so important to us, but some disagree and rather than focus on a player who i am gutted has left i would rather focus on who we got (sadly)

bilko not sure how we are best team in league must have worst convertion rate and worst conceeding rate per chances

we are best at keeping the ball but no idea what to do with it, and useless without it

football is about what happens in the boxes only and in both boxes we are poor

as for being top again only time will tell but i don't think we will unless major changes happen

belisa has got us here this is his team after a year and i think we've gone backwards and he must turn things around soon

i don't think we are 90% there we are 33% there great in the middle but awulf in both ends.

Yep Berm, can’t disagree we’re great in the middle. We’re not awful defensively, when we continue to press opposition when they have the ball they barely get near our box. Derby, Swans, and Forest we got mugged, especially Derby. Up front Bamfords confidence has gone, he’s a goal scorer but unfortunately not as consistent in a Leeds shirt.
I agree possession, shots, corners, counts for nowt if you don’t turn them into goals.
We’re not perfect yet by any means but we have plenty of quality to create and score goals.


We are one of, if not the most attack focused teams in this league and we have been found out now by other teams. They pack their box to limit our shooting, scoring and know we are easy picking for the sucker punch counter attack. This continues on from last season with PJ in the team.

I admit berm I was a big big fan of PJ too and would be happier if he was still Leeds. I think Ben White is a great loan signing though.

We are far from clueless, Hockaday, Heckingbottom are the clueless eras.

Useless without the ball? I believe we are the best side in the division without the ball. The closing down of the opposition is second to none. George you seem to be full of predictions of late I just hope your latest one doesn’t come true.

Cork As do I but from what I see it's a combination of we've been worked out, Bielsa intransigence and consequentially I see the dressing room starting to come loose. Fixable but Bielsa must amend his tactics. Sadly, I don't see it happening. I believe he'll walk before the calendar year is out.

how are we the best side without the ball? we are the wosrt

charlton didn't have the ball for 70% of the game didn't conceed

derby didn't have the ball for 70% of the game let one in

swans didn't have the ball for 75% game didn't conceed didn't let one in

forest didn't have the ball for 75% of the game didn't let one in

we didn't have the ball for 25-30% in every game yet conceeded every time. this is beyound poor we are five times worse without the ball than every other team mentioned in this stat above

I love pontus and we miss him. we need someone so we could go 30% without the ball and keep a clean sheet. i'd love to be able to play 70% without the ball and not concced like the better teams in the division. am i talking rubbish or mental as i don't see how some people can disagree with what to me is clearly obvious?

i agree cork they are also good at keeping the ball, they are just not good at defending a box

winning ball back in high press up field and defending a goal are two very different things

still long way to go and we are not in a bad place, just set up in a bad way IMO.
