No point putting the cork back, Berm has already drunk all the cheap plonk.

agree with ed I don't think rodgers is as bad as mcclown and for me martinez is not much better than mcclown but managing at high level don't make them good or better than others (look at glen hoddle great coach by all accounts but think he is a useless manager)

sorry ed I don't drink wine got very drunk on red and white wine when I was 15 and never touched the stuff since. I stick to brandy, scotch and toliet duck.

I did same as that but with Whisky at about 12. Blotto. Can't even be near the stuff now. Yuk!
Oh and managers. Still think Pearson the best fit. Not that the others aren't any good just suits him better and he will be a stayer rather than Bugger off first offer he gets
Forget. Giggly. Torvile. Bulky and meane.
Pearson for me.

Hopeless managers Ed. that's some statement. isn't that what lots said about Ranieri not so long ago? Probably not you though as you seem to be the expert on the profession.
Just because it didn't work out at Everton does not mean Martinez will not be a success at another club. Fergie was 1 game from getting the sack at man u years back and look how that panned out!
Its about opinions but I find it ludicrous to say they are terrible managers.

{Ed001's Note - show me one person that said that about Ranieri that actually knows anything about football? You may find it ludicrous but it has been proven to be the case with Martinez in two jobs that he has spent the time in to prove himself. The guy has no clue how to organise a team, he refuses to practice set pieces and has no idea how to motivate the players.

Oh and no, I have always liked Ranieri a lot, I personally thought he was unlucky to get the sack from Chelsea, like many did. No one could have foreseen how well he did at Leicester, but I certainly did not see him as a crap manager.}

i don't think anyone thought ranieri was crap I think most thought he was good but an also ran not quite good enough to win anything and looked how he proved us wrong, martiez has got one team relgiated and another team massivley under performing and both teams have a lot in common. a mate said everton are just wigan with better players. that is why martienz is no good, any team he takes it will go backwards with defending. he could take over any english team and make them worse. if he ever wins a league or even does well in a league it will not be in england as his style don't suit the english way.

So you are privvy to what goes on in Evertons dressing room and on the training ground?
I don't know for sure but I suspect he does practice set pieces and I've read glowing reports from some of his previous players on his training methods.
I would not be surprised if Martinez was successful at his next club.

{Ed001's Note - are you this naive? Yes I do this for a living because I find out those kind of things, that is what I do. Secondly, only an ignorant person who has not read anything coming out of Martinez's own mouth would not know that he does not practice set pieces. He has said so, as have staff and players that have worked with him.}

13 May 2016 11:05:31
No I am not naive or ignorant ed. Martinez previously said it was rare that they praticed set pieces not they never did. I thought he was just trying to imply that they worked more on the technical side.
I know its your job but I never realized you guys know what happens in the dressing room with regards his motivation skills.
Maybe your right that he is a terrible manager, time will tell I suppose, but I was just making the point that that many managers come back after being sacked and do good jobs elsewhere. Jesus how many times has Ranieri been sacked? He was ridiculed after the Greece job by many sports journalists and same then tipped Leicester to go down.
But as you infer I am not as knowledgeable as yourself as its not my job to read newspapers etc and gather information.

{Ed001's Note - I don't read newspapers, I leave that for tiresome people like you, who then try and act like they have a clue because of crap in the papers. I make the effort to speak to the people involved, not get it 5th hand like you are. It is ignorant people like you that make these sites hard work. You always think you know better when you know absolutely nothing bar some crap you read in a tabloid. I give up, you have no idea what you are talking about but refuse to listen when someone who does explains it to you. Stick to moronic comparisons about a well respected manager in Ranieri to a man that is just known as a nice guy without a clue in Martinez, as it shows your complete lack of any understanding.}

9.) 13 May 2016
13 May 2016 11:31:59
I take it you are not keen on Martinez then ed001.

{Ed001's Note - he is a nice bloke, bit arrogant, but I totally dislike his take on football. Passing for passing's sake. That is not for me. I also think you should not have to be forced to allow coaches working under you to train the players in set pieces, like he had to be. They are a very important part of the game. Just ask Bilic about them and be prepared for a 20 minute lecture about the value of throw ins, let alone free kicks and corners!}

10.) 13 May 2016
13 May 2016 11:38:03
Ed why are you getting on your high horse and calling me names? I am entitled to my opinion and you have no idea who I am or what I do.
For the record I work for a top bookmakers and attend many sporting events in Europe through my work. So don't be naive in thinking I know nothing about sports and don't know people witin these sports.
I don't need to be told by you what is correct and what is not.
I am not going to say anymore as this is getting tiring and i'm going to have an early lunch.
Good luck.

{Ed001's Note - you are missing the point, you were arguing with facts by giving opinions and telling me that my facts were wrong. If you are going to be an arse like that, expect to get told you are an arse. As for bookies, they know f all about the game, no matter how much they try and pretend they do, so you are proving your ignorance.}

11.) 13 May 2016
13 May 2016 12:44:41
You're a funny man ed. Its very easy to sit at the other end and be rude isn't it? What so called facts did I diagree with? I think I said I find it hard to believe he doesn't practice set pieces. Ok you say he dont. As for your fact he cannot motivate. well that's your opinion not fact.
You slate my profession, so what is yours then ed01? I would hazard a guess but I might offend you.

{Ed001's Note - you dkn't know what I do? You really do need help reading....}

12.) 13 May 2016
13 May 2016 15:07:58
Ed. I don't like Martinez. I'm not that keen on corky white tbh. But most of us are not in the know and are prob misguided and just come on here for banter and share opinions. I just think u take it a tad personally or passionately sometimes and revert to unnecessary name calling. You are lucky you are in the know but if we all believed everything u or anybody told us or heaven forbid a football club owner or politician even, we d really be idiots. So leave it up to corky what he believes and maybe humour us rather than abuse us.

{Ed001's Note - I take it personally when someone is basically calling me a liar when I tell them something. Martinez does not do any practice of set pieces. His words that he has told me himself. So forgive me if I don't like some full of themselves know nothing tell me otherwise.}

Ed 001 should your job be to edit and not slate people or call people ignorant. That's George's job.
