Frustration release:

Noel Whelan: "Let’s start pushing forwards and getting into that Premiership where everyone wants to be but where Leeds United should be.
We need to be up there playing against the Chelseas and the Man Uniteds and the Man Citys.
We have got the fan base, home and away, and the club’s history is all there to be seen.
We need to start making more history."

Yes, yes. I until this day can't uderstand how it can be that nonstory clubs like Stoke, Swansea, Chealsea or Aston Villa are playing in PL or are given great owners while the greatest ENGLISH club is stagnating in this second division. The club which have many fans even in God's forgotten places like Poland (my place. ) and in many much more forgotten places. How it can be! You ask why this is the greatest English club? Because when it last played in the PL it was single one succesfull English/British club which does not changed into foreign mercenary company like the rest of your clubs. For me it is English Barcelona, club identified with great academy, its own ethos, production of its own talents with the minds made to love this club (look at the faces of Alan Smith and James Milner after Bolton game. ) . Look at Leeds squad in 2000/2001 there were only TWO PLAYERS who did not speak English NATIVELY, Bakke and Dacourt. Why Leeds still is the last club with which English manager won league title? that's why so many people in the world loved and still love your club, same like Barcelona. Because it constitutes every positive aspect of your football philosophy. English/British way is Leeds United way, not M********* United or City. BTW look at "English Champion" Man City from 13/14 and how they were smashed by Barcelona in this same season in CL, Barca was playing like against Granada or other nonstory club. Its really sad, the way in which this famous club is run, but on the other hand it in some way represents a state of English game dominated by hollow money which replaced philosophy, English football culture, player's respect for a shirt, who should respect them? foreigners? or homegrown players who are treatet like rubbish by their own clubs and are cast away? It is in your own interest of the whole British Isles, not only of England and the rest of United Kingdom, to return this club to healthy state in order to again represent that your football tradition is not dead.

{Ed001's Note - disrespectful post. Swansea have a great back story, from almost going out of the bottom of the Football League to competing in the Premier League in just a few years. Stoke have a great history, with Matthews etc. Even Chelsea have a history, just not of winning trophies in the past. Villa have plenty of history. Cut out the swearing, I don't want to sit and edit half a post like that, stop being so disrespectful to clubs who are in a far better position than Leeds, and try learning from their examples.}

Have to agree with Ed, seems almost a crazy post

Villa have far better hitory than us (won far more including european cup) . Leeds are my team and I love them as much as anyone. but we are far from the best english team, many teams have better history. let's be honest in our greatest era we were often nearly men who did not fullfil potential. As for our sqaud being mainly british back in the day, not sure this is quite correct either or what this has to do with anything.

We do have great academy and always have from revie, to wilko, to recent age and even since religation but then so have so many other look at man utd west ham and saints, everton and liverpool for example

finally I so hate this leeds fan entitled rubbish. history counts for nothing and we as a club as entitled to nothing and should not be a prem club as a given. we were badly run and almost went out of business, 70's so what right now we are not a big or successful club. let's just enjoy being leeds and not upset that we are not what leeds were.

Well, I'm writing from a position of a foreigner and I can assure you that in Poland no one ever heard about Stoke and Swansea before they reached the Premier League recently, and no one considered Chelsea as a big club before Abramovich bought them. As for Aston Villa, no one thinks that they are greater club than Leeds even now.

As for Leeds they were always widely popular before relegation alongside Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, so it is sad for me that this fame is disappearing due to the club's problems. Of course Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd have more trophies, fame, money etc. it is my personal opinion that Leeds is the greatest in England (I think that for you too) but it had something unique which decided on its popularity (which I tried to explain).

You may disagree with me but the level of popularity abroad is in some way an indicator of the club's fame and greatness. It is frustrating for me as a Leeds fan that Swansea is playing in Premier League, while Leeds United, which have so many fans in your country and abroad, is stagnating in second division.

I remember times from yearly 2000s when so many children were wearing Leeds shirts in Poland (Chinese imitations of course) , now, many of them still follow Leeds and of course many more forgotten about it. I simply wish for Leeds to be successful and popular again.

btw. I have never seen anyone in a Villa shirt or other dress in Poland, while people in Leeds shirts or jackets can be seen, not as common as 15 years ago, but still.

Can't help but think; in the 2000's that if a lot more Polish kids and others across the world were wearing genuine Leeds club shirts, we might have had a bit more cash, a softer landing and an easier sale to an interested party.
Sorry but, I fail to see how this post is anything other than stirring for the sake of it. When the Premier League started Norwich were battling against Villa for supremacy. I feel for the Villa fans. I really do. They might be some of the most dull, silent fans (try singing, boys, it can help) in the country but they don't deserve the asset stripping and board disinterest they've been subjected to the last 10 years.
Villa is a proud club with a proud history.
With the state of the current squad and the disdain of their current chairman, who knows when they'll be back in the top flight.
In our case. we have a chairman who is bit too interested in all the wrong ways. I've defended Cellino in the past but, I concede, if he screws up this transfer window, he really needs to go.
