Ok, so hoping I've not missed anyone else asking this question: Lewis Cook back on loan? Tricky one imo. Not sure he'd get enough guaranteed games.

No for me. With a fully fit squad I would not want to leave out O'Kane or Bridcut and Phillips has earned the right to be backup so I think we should move on.

Take him on loan as long as Bournemouth pay his wages.

I think it's looking like we did very well to get 10 million for a vastly overrated player . He can't dislodge any of their midfielders they had last season . And his goal scoring record was never fantastic. I don't think he'd dislodge either of our dms and hernandez is miles better than him . So no, he can whistle for me, serves him right for going to that massive club Bournemouth!

No, he didn't want to play for us and I don't want anyone to come to us just because he has to.

Not one to say I told you so but said it last year if we had paid 5 million for him we'd have been very disappointed.

I think saying he was overrated is a bit harsh. After all the kid had only just turned 20 and I'm sure he'll be a star at some point. As for having him back on loan 4 games ago I would have said definitely. However, Phillips has grabbed the challenge and has been a star in his own right. I thought out of Cook, Taylor, Byram and Mowat he was the weakest all round, but the lad has really come on. O'Kane when we signed him I thought waste of money and why did we get him, but again I'm happy and glad to say I'm wrong. He's been another find. So back to the question, nope I don't think we need Cook back 👍🏻.

JT said O Kane would be a good addition giving us a bit of bite in centre of the park and I never said Cook was overrated just the fact that if we had paid that sort of price ww would not have been happy. Also 20 is not that young.

Cook not as good as we got now and that goes to show how recent additions have been largely good ones.
Mc got good dollar for cook who was silly to go to Bournemouth. He should have chose to sit on liverpools bench or something.
He prob thought he had more chance of game time. Wrong!
So he ends the positive post from me this week. Wrapping it up I'm pleased with new additions and with the dollar for kick. And mcbafge. Although he would still improve our team.

Sorry jt but I'm afraid he is very overrated. At 20 he should be able to walk into Bournemouth's team if he was ever going to be any good . We've certainly got the best deal of the midfielders we've exchanged. He might be a bit unlucky wilshire has gone there cause he won't get a sniff now .

Really overrated? Watching Cook for his first two seasons he was well in front of his years. He was the only player in those seasons who would put his foot on the ball and pick a pass. He played number 10, holding midfielder and even wing (Even though for some reason they all go on the wing at some point? ) . Away from home he would win the midfield battle and play with his heart on his sleeve. I think last season his head got turned like Byram and Taylor. When we got offered the money we did I thought snap their hands off. No player in our division is worth up to 10 mil, but I do think you're letting his lack of loyalty cloud your judgement. My opinion he was better than Delph, Milner and Howson at their age. Like I say my opinion.

We got a very good deal for Cook. He may improve, he looks to have potential, but our current midfielders - bridcutt, O'Kane Phillips and Vierra are at least as effective and the first two are better. Where would you play him?

Cook not worth 10m or whatever but that not his fault, he was good for his age but as I have said a number of times before last year, I could count on one hand the times he made a real difference to the team/ the match.

Our midfield is stronger now, if he was still with us I'm sure he would still play sometimes but he left and bringing him back doesn't add a lot of value to the team in many respects.

Agree with most that a forward/ CH would be our priority, or get some confidence into Roofe as so far he has been disappointing but you feel he could be a very useful player. I guess that is up to the management to try and lift his confidence/ get him making a difference or that is 3m down the drain which we can't afford to do.

Best game he had was against derby last year. Struggling to think of many others he really shone .
