We just signed yet another Spanish teenager for the U-23s. Some Bulgarian 17 year old.

P. S. GIW. Sorry, can't help but correct you as I know you've pulled up many people in the past. He's not Spanish he only plays in Spain. Or has he got dual nationality as you say he's Bulgarian also?

How can we have too much youth talent when the development squad finished bottom of their league last season ? Quality young players are being brought in with a view to progressing into the first team squad. These players are coming from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia and although does not automatically mean they will make the grade, if one or two do it would save the club millions.

Agree with you Notts - a man who knows his football along with the likes of BIGE. Can't see a problem with signing young uns from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid etc. They're not being asked to play first team football, just develop along with the the future conveyor belt of talent we already have within the club. Makes me feel confident that this source of emerging talent will only continue. This was the case with Wilko who pioneered our youth set up and is the best way to build for the future. No good simply signing has been mercenaries looking for their last pay day and not giving a flying took about Leeds, but develop hungry youth players with their careers ahead of them. Points to prove and could be great investments if we sell on for big bucks. MM

Part of the problem also is that when I young player starts to attract attention a number of clubs will send scouts and I suppose are indifferent past has deterred a number of youngsters . Last year are u23 squad was lacking whether that was a down to poor coaching as well I don't know, but did we not pick up Ron Vi and his brother on a free deal. If we are going to start bring in players from over-seas if they come from a known decent club then they have got to be worth a punt and let's face it Real Madrid and Barcelona are a bit more then decent .

U23s were bad last season because half the team went to first team and we had that many trialists the likes of Malik, Farrell, could not get a game. I stopped going to watch them in Feb as it was daft. With these young kids we are signing will def have to have a look at them. Not really bothered where they come from as long as they can do a job at Leeds. But they are coming from some of the best youth set ups there are. The lads that have come through the ranks will work harder to impress so will be interesting. Cream comes to the top.

Ausman, PL players are far too expensive. Within five years, we wouldn't be able to afford a single one. The academy and foreign gems will be the way forward.

If they're good enough and improve the u23s, then I'm not bothered. It's not like Kewell came from Kippax. We don't have a record of producing the kind of technical players Spain do. We're good at full backs and tackling CMs, but not creative playmakers.

Totally disagree Aus. Your opinion shows you don't know the game. None of the top PL clubs share your view. Over recent years say the last decade, a fair few British players have been produced who are international class maybe even a tad better but perhaps not quite world class in defence, goalkeeper and midfield but not so many in attack. Only Rooney Owen Shearer come to mind.

3 players but 92 clubs in England. Do the math bro. There's an obvious need to recruit elsewhere in attack in order to be competitive. Indeed, our leading striker and frankly saviour of last season originated from the most distant country to ours on the planet.

I think bringing in young talent for the youth squad is a great idea - if they work out they either play for us and are 'cheap' first teamers or we sell for a profit - in win for me

Thanks LIG. That's what top quality 😻 can do to you 😉. I'm also most happy with our transfer business. Just a couple more right additions and we will mount a title challenge.
