Reply to wexleeds1. If he wanted to play for us then he would sign the contract. if we don't let him go he will . sulk. And under perform. IMO I don't think he's worth 10. Million never mind 20 mil . if he is not 100% committed to lufc get him out it will only put bad vibes in the dressing room. I hate players that think there too good for there club because they have 1 decent season . we saved is career when he was rotting on Leicesters bench. any true Leeds fan only wants players who want to play for the shirt and be proud to do so.

Wish we could make him train alone and never play for any of our squads again if that's the case! Just wish we could do it!

Apparently he's just been offered a contract nobody knows his decision and he's entitled to think about a new contract also he's entitled to think of other offers the same as you and I. He's not worth 20 million but is any footballer worth the fees they're getting. Hold your horses on whether we slay Wood for taking a week to decide on what is best for him. We might have saved his career but he has done what he's paid to do but it is his career. If we had a better striker he'd be dropped and you and I would say he has to deal with it. So why should we feel betrayed if he gets a better offer

Also if we turn down offers for him who knows wether he'll sulk or not. He may just get on with it. Your really running away with what your reading in the Sun

Agree. Don't blame him if he goes. Not too bothered either way. Don't think he will be our saviour this season if he stays

Only wex because until his contract runs out he shouldn't really be able to hold the club over a barrel

We can't really blame Wood if he does decide to go to a Premier League side. I think most of us think he won't be good enough for the Prem so if we get there we would be quite happy to bin him off for someone better! So, is it ok for him to use us to improve his profile or for us to use him to get us promoted?

Cura we hold him over a barrel a football club can afford to leave a player in reserves he has 5 years to earn as much as he can

This is getting ridiculous. Markohobbs what are you talking about? How did Leeds save his career and in what way is he sulking. As for his new contract offer. How dare he not sign it instantly to keep certain morons happy that he has shown his allegiance to LUFC!

And Curahee what are you talking about, holding the club over a barrel you say. Make the lad train alone! Unbelievable talk. Wood has done nothing wrong, apart from miss two one on ones! At least Wex lives in the real world because some geezers on here really don't.

In life corky I've found the ones who expact loyalty and disregard for money are the first to sell themselves down the river when a better offer comes

There's an element of truth in all of these posts. Cur a little out of touch but all still viable opinions. This is one of the reasons I say sell. It's the honourable thing for the club to do. Take the cash and let him go to that fabulous happening town Burnley where CW can marvel at cobbled streets, the M65 and whatever else of note might be there! He will be replaced eventually and whilst the delay may not be to our liking that's football. Big money always for me over sulking underperformers any day. MOT

No malice meant to anyone else but I'm with you Corkwhite1, first of all how has Wood gone from a Leeds goal scorer to someone who's no better than a bag of crap! Firstly he hasn't turned down the contract, so why is he being slated for that? Secondly if he does that's up to him as footballers only have a limited playing career so they have to make as much as you can before they retire, also why would he hold any loyalty to us when only a couple of seasons ago he was getting slated and for some reason still does in some quarters!

Finally and most importantly Chris Wood has not asked for a transfer nor has he said he doesn't want to play for us, it's all paper talk and until I hear it from his mouth I will reserve judgement! One thing I do agree in a way is that we did take him from Leicester reserves for £3M but he has played his part by doing what he is paid for and if he is to be sold he could make our club a profit of at least £15M which is not bad interest in two years!

Just remember football is now a business not just for owners but also for players, and they want what everyone wants in life, that is the deal they can get. Let's just wait and see what happens as he might stay yet, let's not make it consume what good things are happening at LUFC. MOT

At least cork wex and others which live in the real world as you say read posts beforehand mouthing off, again! sometimes you really do show yourself up! I said I WISH we could have him train alone IF indeed he turned down our offer and sulked, not because he's missed a few chances! Really you need to stop shout your mouth off!

TBH wex my point isn't about loyalty. my point is about (and this is for any player) if you sign a contract you agree to those terms for the length of it. They can't complain when their club doesn't accept an offer whilst they are under contract. It's a gamble they take when they sign it.

I do read your posts even though i find them repetitive and boring. Why would Leeds make Wood train alone if he turned down the new contract and why would you wish so. Strange thing to want in a club, top earner and key player shunned to train by himself. You must like disharmony curahee? The "missing a few chances" was said quite obviously as a joke but went over your head, probably because you don't read posts properly! And you must explain how Wood is holding LUFC over a barrel, if you can? Apologies if i am showing myself up, again.

What I don't get cork is why you're so aggressive in your posts with people whom you disagree with all the time! Are you used to getting your own way and everyone jumping at your every word? There really are ways to speak to people in a grown up and mature way!

OH and cork, jokes are only funny if they don't need to be explained that they are a joke! If you don't like my posts, then don't read them! I certainly skip over you mindless ramblings unless they are a direct reply to one of mine!
