You know the takeover is to happen on 21st December 2012. Well according to the Mayan calendar, which many people believe in, the world is due to end on that date. Blooming typical of our luck. JD

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Yeah and come the 22nd we will have something else o worry about.

Agree3 Disagree2

The Mayan Callander didn't account for leap years so the world should have ended 18 month ago......p.s it didn't......kevlufc

Agree6 Disagree3

It's based on solstices, not days, and 21st december is the final solstice in the calendar... wait what?

I'm sorry to say but this takeover has ken bates written all over it,I see gfh have registered lufc city holdings to an address in the Cayman islands, the same address which was investigated by America a while back,we all know how ken bates loves his off shore dealings and I wouldn't put it passed him to sell the club put it under gfh, because ask yourself who is the mystery investor could it be master Bates himself its the kind of thing he would do,and for those of you who are thinking why would he buy the company off himself, well he's done a lot of dodgy things in the past.

Believable5 Unbelievable24

Most multinationals base themselves in
Off shore banks. It's not illegal it's a way of paying less tax. Your argument that Bates is behind the deal, is brought down by the £52 million paid for the club? Are you saying he raised this money to pay to himself? Sounds like something he would do, apart from the fact I don't think he has a such a sum in cash available. The second test will be the amount of money spent on players in January & in the summer. Let's face it, if we spend more than a Million £ on players, Bates is not involved as he doesn't believe in such excess. Don't forget he thought Nunez was Gradels replacement and equal, and that Varney would replace Snodgrass. All will become clear.

Lets see we are a UK team being bought by a Dubai based but Bahraini owned bank. Dubai is an offshore finance centre itself. There is nothing wrong with having a holding company based in the Caymans. Most Caribbean islands have SPVs (special purpose vehicles) which are set up for investment purposes. It's a simple way of doing things in tax efficient manner. Everyone seems worried about it because that's how Bates did things and took us to the cleaners but it's not illegal and it's a sensible idea

Are you trying to say there's only one person in the world like Ken Bates? Got news for you. The Cayman Islands, tax havens, offshore companies, nominee directors and shady dealings aren't solely undertaken by one man in Kenneth Bates. There's a few people around the world who conduct themselves in a similar manner in order to reduce tax liabilities and preserve secrecy. Stop trying to worry Leeds fans when there's nothing to worry about. Ken Bates will have little power in running the club from the beginning of next season.

I dont care who the hell owns leeds, as long as they invest in leeds im more than happy,

I think our season went off the rails the last time we had 3 home games. We rested 4 players against charlton n we all know what happend. I hope we didn't make same mistake with thomas at derby? If our best players r fit lets play them if their injured dont.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Thomas, had a hamstring injury. That's why he wasn't playing against Derby! I also thought Hughes was excellent for them, credit where credits due!KEA

Morning all just read on sky transfer pages that Stuart downing at Liverpool is down hearted at playing as bait man
What do you think of him in championship for Leeds over next 6 months ? I think he's the wide type of player we need
Yes I know wages/ drop into championship won't happen but IF ??? If not who would you guys choose for that position if we can manage to persuade any of fringe players within uk teams ANY THOUGHTS and its just for fun....
On a boring Monday
Cheers Wingy Mk Leeds for life MOT ......

Believable4 Unbelievable14

Personally, if we get Thomas signed up till the end of the season, and Hall is all but expected to sign, then wide left is not a real weakness. Add to this the flexibility of Michael Tonge, and I think our '£8m' could be better used elsewhere. Not a bad shout though (if we hadn't got Thomas).

It makes me laugh that when a stupid personic fan for us gets on the pitch and pushes Kirkland in the face it's all the commentators talk about. After the game it was all the talk, hardly anything was said about a good away draw. Is it because we are dirty Leeds. Today another mindless fan throws a coin off rio Ferdinand head and badly cuts his face, compare that to a fan getting carried away when we score and I mean it was completely wrong but did our fan leave blood on a players face? Why was Manchester city talked about after the game or on match of the day 2 in the same breath as if it's was Leeds. I feel there was double standards on sky as after the game today it hardly mentioned or showed what had happened however, when our fan did it, the reply was showed numerous times. If your going to show fans acting like people you have to do it regardless of the team.

Completely agree, i posted something in a similar vein but the ed has not put mine in for some reason?!

completely agree the tv people have tried to focus on the game but truth is this incident with Ferdinand much worse than the Leeds fan incident. not only that a fan ran on and had to be restrained .....ferdinands twitter comment funny though he commented on it only being 2p rather than a £1 ...the lad took it well and shows he still has a sense of humour
