Why would GFH turn down investment?

I don't believe Bates conspiracy theory of GFH being his puppet smoke screen because he is still pulling the strings.

If Bates were still in control this would surely be illegal in terms of Football club ownership transparency requirement. Such a foolish move would cost our club dearly, hefty fines and points deductions or relegation. I'm just trying to think this through logically!

Reduction in ticket pricing is not Bates style history shown that he was always looking to get as much money as possible. Ross, Sam, Dom, Tom Lees, these assets would have been sold already. New contracts would not have been agreed with youth prospects.

Fans forum night is going to be very interesting!

I for one give my 100% backing to Pearson if it is him and his consortium who have put a bid in for an initial 51% purchase of lufc. He knows Leeds having been avcommercial director of the club, plus he has experience where at the moment GHF are like a rabbit in the head lights I think lufc is too big for them. We need someone with massive investment who will bring back the crowds pull us all together address supporter issues like ticker prices and stop selling our nest talent once and for all plus install a manager who is as passionate about Leeds as we are {Ed016's Note - Pearson never stated publicly that he would like to take over Leeds, his personal wealth is not known)

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Offer has been turned down. On os

Pearson had money problems at hull and had to sell up. Wouldn't want him here as he has nowt

Gfh are not looking to sell a major stake in the club which is a good thing. Some large investment would be nice though

So TOMA 2 has stated already just 8 weeks after GFHC Complete 100% buy out there looking to FLIP at the first chance with a Yorkshire Consortium wanting to buy a 51% stake leading to a full buy out. Will we ever reach the promised land?

Stories of lufc takeover are true, a group "the white knights " are trying to gain control from bates and his mates. My friend is a stylist to some rich football people and rumour is bates has brought in GFH to help keep lufc afloat while he still takes his pound of flesh, GFH for their trouble get a cut of any final sale price down the line. He says first takeover smoke and mirrors and ER and TA still also handy earner for a certain Chelsea fan, also a lot (though I guess not all) very pro GFH on web is curtesy of a PR machine not fans. Believe what you will but I reckon time may tell, most important is to have someone in control with leeds doing well in prem at heart.

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Again with the "bates still in control" theories! please stop them.

Agree5 Disagree5

It all stinks of Bates been in control, why would a new set of owners keep an 80 year old at the club, as chairman, and then club president, did he keep the chairmanship at Chelsea. No

Agree6 Disagree6

He was chairman until end of season and moved up stairs but fell out with roman mate

been telling you all last week to watch this space. . .
now news has broken about takeover 51% by pearson and friends with lots and lots of cash believe me we are at the start of our comeback as a major player in the prem.

Pearson was always a front man for peter wilkinson a Leeds fan with a few hundred million to his name and a nice guy. He wanted to invest years back but didn't get on with Ridsdale and refused to deal with master bates. Maybe now gfh have untangled the dubious set up put in place by bates it has become an attractive proposition.

I would be happy for gfh to run the club I think they have to be better than bates but would be seriously happy if Pearson (wilkinson) stepped in.

Agree6 Disagree1

I wouldn't be surprised. I seem to recall in the Summer GFH were initially just a broker for the deal. Then the deal died, and then GFH went on alone, having completed Due Dilligence they could see the potential of the club. The only issue was Bates, no one could or would do a deal with him. GFH in my opinion have bought the club, having wrestled it from Kens icy fingers, and are clearly easier to deal with. This has allowed anyone who have an interest in Leeds to now come forward from an investor point of view. GFH have always said they are looking for investors. We just need continuity now, good management and investment in the squad. If this can all be in place for the summer then I have a strangely good feeling about this.

Even if we get in play offs I don't want us to go up so we can come straight back down we just aren't strong enough at moment so people please stop saying if we win this and that because ain't gunna happen. {Ed016's Note - TV money is going up massively next season in the prem, plus a big parachute payment for teams relegated, i wouldn't dismiss it personally)

Believable3 Unbelievable5

But money wouldn't stop from laughing at us would it only good team and kicking there arse for years to come would.

I posted on here the other week that Patrick Antelmi is on trial with us. You tell me, Get Boyd on loan (yet another guy 28/29 years ol) or sign up the young lad.

Nick LS26 {Ed013's Note - Antelmi has a contract with Leeds already}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Antelmi signed from our feeder club Portsmouth in the summer.

Listen to Warnock yesterday on radio everyone in the ground knew it was Kenny fault for their late equaliser but no he started to have a go at others like morison not marking his man etc has he lost the plot hopefully he;s not here next season and he can go down to cornwall and never bother us again

Believable17 Unbelievable2

Warnock is going to defend his squad as much as possible and to be honest it wasnt as bad mistake by kenny as everyone made out he just punched it and no one was there to pick up the loose ball. If we win most of our home games like we are and start drawing most games we will make playoffs

Agree1 Disagree6

No it wasnt that bad was it only cost us 2 points now means we after beat boro on tuesday no matter what.

Agree5 Disagree0

Poster 2 it was the mistake which led to the corner if he just had let the ball go over the line from their free kick without trying to be clever we would have a goal kick and could have seen the time out.

I am an Everton fan and would like to know how Barkley is playing for you?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Apart from missing that chance against cardiff I like him!

Agree5 Disagree0

Being played out of position by our clueless manager. And got dropped after having a terrible game against Cardiff because he's not a winger. Poora is wasted here.

Agree7 Disagree2

Was saying on radio yesterday that they don't expect him to re sign with us as he hardly plays and Everton will want him out to some team where he starts every game

Agree0 Disagree1

And playing at a team that plays football. . oh and recognises the boys talent

was at wolves 2day if we play like that we will get into playoffs no problem 2 point a game that's not hard with the games we have left we looked strong in most departments 2day its not over yet lads so let back the boss till it is over he"s not going 2b sacked getting on his back just puts the team off there game so come on back not sack mot

Warnock says only a minority of fans want him out, so 80% is a minority is it?
He seems frustrated at dropping 2 points at wolves but is still deluded that we should have beat Cardiff?
And that's the right word.
Sadly warnock is deluded
Deluded that he has bought good players
Deluded that his tactics still work
Deluded that we have chance of play offs
Deluded about kenny
Deluded about team selection.
And we have to suffer because of it
Have some pride man
Do what I do when people don't want me around
Leave. Today would be great

Believable15 Unbelievable8

This guy is always trying to convince himself that he's doing a wonderful job. Stats say your not. The fans are watching the same games as you but you constantly blame everybody but yourself. When grayson was sacked we were in a better position and it wasnt beyond play offs but you chose to tell most of the team that they were crap and its been downhill ever since. Quotes like you will never see games like that while i'm in charge (nigel) clough. Your an arrogant man who has said lots but we are stuggling with your team yes yours no more excuses, if your not upto it give somebody else a chance!

Agree13 Disagree3

80% my a**e, let the bloke do his job and stop whinging

Agree6 Disagree4

That's a good idea. Give warnock a 5 year contract. He is still learn g the game. His tactics will eventually come back I to fashion.

Just got back from the game. My biggest gripe is that after going 2-1 ahead, we didn't try to score a third, which would have been decisive. Wolves were there for the taking. In the last 10-15 minutes, we had at least 3 chances of a breakaway, but we either headed for the corners or stopped and played it backwards. This is ok with about 2 minutes to go or in injury time, but not with 15 minutes to go. Ok, Kenny made a mistake for their equaliser, bit we brought it upon ourselves by sitting back and settling for a 2-1 win. Far too negative when we need to win to get in the play offs.

We never win by 2 warnocks way occasionally that's what happens

Agree0 Disagree3

Leeds have failed at seeing games out for years. To protect a lead from 15 minutes out you need to attack. You'd think the penny would have dropped by now. Oh no. let's try and waste time I stead.
