Year in year out its the same and I'm sick to the back teeth now every transfer window we get our hopes up only to be smashed down to earth that yet again we're losing our best player. If varney goes that's me done with Leeds united til Ken Bates has gone.

100% leeds united will not spend any money in january, we never do, its all b******* to keep us happy.
i hope i'm wrong but i don't think so. we revert to the old 'free beer tomorrow' scam and we all turn up week in week out, when will we ever learn.

Calm down optomist. You're beginning to sound like me.

Just a thought McDermott is looking for a target man with experience and can score goals with his head, remind you of anybody, who scored goals for fun when gradel Snodgrass and co were whipping them balls into the box, you guessed it yet.BECCHIO imagine kebe, Stewart, mowatt, McCormack and becchio, play offs guaranteed surely.McDermott its staring you in the face, you can't use excuse you did in summer about not liking loan players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Give it a rest now everyone with all these becchio and ex players rumours.
OK he was a legend when he was here but most of us LU fans don't him back.
He definitely won't be the same player, he's not scored for a year, he'll be low in confidence, he'll be low on confidence, not gauranteed a start which will knock his confidence even more, like an ex girlfriend never go back (unless it's a one nighter when the sex will be fantastic) and last but not least we should be aiming for premiership standard players which he has proved with norwich he isn't.
In McD I trust.

when are we going to spend some cash? or are we going to carry on loan deals, imo we still need to tighten up at the back an some quality up front.

Brian Mc will struggle to add a striker in this window and I believe he will therefore snap becchio up end of Jan last min.

Also if varney and or Poleon go any time soon, we must have someone lined up but I think we may struggle to find a striker.

It looksmlikemafter missing out on Barnes he wants a big man not a little man like ALF

Just a hunch

Not a rumour, just a speculation, but seen this on ssn. " Reading boss Nigel Adkins hoping to keep key men - such as goalkeeping duo Alex McCarthy and Adam Federici - out of the clutches of a rival". Anyone Think that this could be us? As I've seen a fair few rumours for both players plus le fondre

Let's go get Alfie, billy sharpe looking like he's going to reading, strike while the irons hot! We are relying far to heavily on Ross! Happy with Kebe and Stuart though good pace out wide come on leeds go get Alfie

Nakhi Wells has signed for Huddersfield on loan initially permanent next week for club record fee. Not sure I'm too worried about that in honesty, not proven at championship level and we really need someone to come in and fire us into the playoffs with a proven record. ALF or Billy Sharpe for me would do the job. MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bit of a gamble for me, could fire Hudds into playoffs or fall flat on his face.

Theres quite a lot of pictures of things relating to RedBull, on david Haighs twitter, notably a picture saying that RedBull have supplied Elland road offices, could just be wishful thinking on my part.

Two pictures from time ago? Probably what started the rumours.

Now that we have signed 2 wingers I think we will see the real Matt Smith, He will get good delivery this time unlike before.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's had plenty of corners, free kicks and passes from Tom Lees to deal with.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he gets good delivery will this stop him planting his arms on the defenders shoulders/shoving them and giving a foul away EVERYTIME?
Matt must be 6ft 7" and 6ft 6" when he jumps, only seen him a handfull of times but unimpressed i'm afraid ;(

Big enoch was the same shrunk when he jumped lmao

Leeds announce partnership with NFL team San Francisco 49ers. What the purpose of this? Can anyone see any benefit?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Marketing may be the best benefit. If LUFC can get promoted, it could drastically increase US fanbase. California (San Fransisco's state) is a hotbed for soccer in the states. I don't see a ton of financial help here, although the owner of the 49ers is worth nearly $1 billion.

Brian, well done on the wingers. Time to focus on central midfield now. Dorrans and Bridcutt.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We won't get bridcutt so you can cross him of your list straight away be realistic he's joining a prem side

Bridcutt would be nice but don't think its very likely. brighton fans seem to think he's on his way to sunderland

What are peoples thoughts in Hunt getting his chance up front now?
Apn-ing63

Agree0 Disagree0

He came on against league two opposition and did NOTHING. He played 90 minutes against Harogate and people weren't evenaware he was playing. Think BMac has to admit he got this one wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

No thank you, not good enough, has shown nothing at all since we signed him, get rid and bring in younger talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, get rid of him and get someone in better. A bit harsh, but if we are serious about promotion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Hunt should be given a chance once he's fit, he tried his best and was only 75% fit when he first arrived.

Only my opinion MOT

Kebe done deal according to official twitter account, good signing. Loan with an option to go permanent in the summer.

We have signed jimmy Kebe on loan until the end of the season (popey tweet).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Have we signed Kebe Yet? It was announced two days ago that we were to sign him on loan. Is he walking up from London or is he lost? Joking aside, we need to speedup the administrative process for signings or other clubs will gazump us while we mess about. If anyone sees Jimmy on their travels point him in the direct of Thorpe Arch!

ashley barnes has signed for Burnley

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Jan 2014 11:44:22
Can someone tell me why we are looking to sign Barnes, yet huddersfield are looking to sign wells, surely wells has more goals in him than someone like barnes or is it because Barnes would be cheaper.I would rather have matt fryatt than barnes.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If Wells is Huddersfield bound then perhaps he is not as good as people think

Agree0 Disagree0

The logic is Barnes wins thing in the air, mccormack needs someone like that along side him maybe McDermott would like another option instead of Smith every now and then.

Wells and Mccormack would not work.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be daft. They are two pro footballers, I'm sure they can pass and link up pretty well. its not all about style and height.

I'm quite sure Messi and Henry woulda worked well back in the day

Agree0 Disagree0

Wells having medical at Huddersfield according to ssn

I wouldn't be too worried about missing out on Barnes tbh, I don't think he is what we need.

We need a goalscorer, Barnes has less goals than Matt Smith this season, I know we have Ross, but if he has a baron spell (as a lot of players do) then we need someone else to stick the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis.

Also, I don't want to be too greedy, but even if Kebe signs I still think we are about 4 short, originally I thought we may only need 3 or 4 but the way the team folded during December I feel as a squad we are more than that amount short, so hopefully we can bring in a few more yet.

IMO, A striker or two (If Varney & Diouf leave and Poleon goes out on loan), another midfielder and at least one solid defender.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with everything you wrote I won't be losing any sleep on missing out on barnes we defo need a good goal scorer and probably a back up striker a midfield enforcer a back up keeper and probably another wide man, all in all a lot left to do

think leeds should go for jay Emanuel Thomas, scored 19 goals up to now, younger and cheaper option to kebe

10 Jan 2014 11:01:05
To be honest, not too bothered about missing out on Ashley Barnes. Lots of players i'd rather have. Very happy with Stewart and Kebe (when complete)! MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah, me too.

Klebe is a proven operator at this level and Stewart, still with things to prove does have promise. More importantly we've brought long awaited balance to the team and with Ayibi, and one or two over Leeds players, we now have the option to rotate and play a more settled and familiar system. Even better than that is we've got them in on frees so the transfer money made available can cover their wages until we stream line the squad and move on some of the players that don't have a future at the club.

I don't want Leeds running a negative deficit season after season.

I think going forward, with the balanced team with decent quality throughout we can look to bring in marque signings, and pay the money to get them on the sole intention to improve the squad and give the Manager more options.

Good buys this time out BmD, about time you balanced things out.

Not doing too badly so far, Stewart in and looking like Kebe is a done deal too. Ashley Barnes would be another good signing too and give us another option instead of Smith. Don't know how true the Bridcutt rumours are but I have always liked him and think he would be some signing! Pity we couldn't get Diouf's head right. If BMD get's his head right and fit he'll be like a new signing. Don't think this would be a bad team:

Kenny

Byram Zaluskis Pearce Peltier

Austin Bridcutt

Stewart Diouf Kebe

McCormack

Another thing on here, people should stop bashing BMD. Rome wasn't built in a day. Don't know did people think he was going to come in and work miracles with very little money and we'd be 15pts ahead of everyone else at this stage. One point outside the playoffs at this stage is a good job for me. He's doing great work in the background too and at Thorpe Arch. Give BMD a chance and get behind the team. Hopefully things take off from here and we get a few more signings in. MOT

Just a question really, I know Barnes is a pretty gud player but does he score enough to improve us? He only got about 6 this season I think, let me know your thoughts guys please
