hi all. just a quick question about the takeove. if it goes ahead how much can the new owners put in to playing staff in first season? i read somewhere there is a cap of £6million. if this is true then alot of the so called nw targets are well out of range but evan so, £6million could buy some fantastic championship players in my eyes. if we could keep the likes of snodgrass at the club then adding depth should not be to difficult. i would keep lonners and try him with the new look defence with pearce lees and white with new right back. snoddy and rogers on wing with new centre mids and 2pacey forwards,(if we got funds for them). feedback and answers welcome. thanks danny lufc

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Thats correct mate. you also have the profits at the club, whitch is 3.5 million. So with nearly 10 million, you could put togeather a really good quality team.
You can put more than the stated 6 million but i think that comes with some kind of fine. So it all comes down to, how deep the new owners pockets are. Thats why the citys of this world don't care how much they spend.
hope this helps.

I have read a few different articles about it and from my understanding clubs will be fined and transfers restricted if they have an annual loss of a certain amount 6m / 5m / 3m / 2m each year. Past few seasons we have only spent with n our income, with our current turn over if an invester/new owner pumps in 10m our losses would exceed the cap so would be fined. at 6m we would be below the cap, unless we made significant increase in income, Ticket sales/cup run/promotion. To put in perspective i think im right is saying it was reported Man C sumbitted a loss of over £100m. Thank god they are putting these measures in place.

Agree1 Disagree0

Hi guys. As I understand it the correct scenario has I have mentioned before on this site is that owners can put in £6m of their own cash this year. £3m next and then £1m the year after. Any money generated through the clubs sales i.e. transfers, merchandise, tickets, boxes, sponsorship, etc, can be spent on salary and transfers. So if someone sponsors the stadium for £20m then all that can be spent on players salaries and transfers.

i dont understand the disheartening over Aidy White, hes got nothing to his game other than pace, everything else is missing primarily strength and end product

Believable8 Unbelievable3

TOO TRUE!! I'll be buzzing if we get anything for him. massively overated player. It's like saying any sprinter would make a top football player. He's just another lad who thinks he's bigger then Leeds and will follow the rest of the young deserters, plying his trade in league 1 and bellow. BYE,BYE!!

Spot on, at his age and his average ability he should think himself very lucky to be wearing the shirt. 7k a week not good enough for a kid? Lucky boy, takes me 6 months to earn that......before frikin tax!

Agree7 Disagree0

A bit sad to see these comments because if he'd signed the new contract you'd have said how much you rate him. I think he's a decent player who should improve and personally I'd love to have kept him

Agree4 Disagree3

I to think white is a decent player,BUT only at left wing, never a full back, bit to clumsy but he could makea very good left sided winger...shrew leeds.

Neil Warnock is to buy Leeds United this week, while on holiday he won euro millions and placed the bid this morning.
Bates accepted.
Warnock will now sack himself and hire Vinnie Jones to be the new manager.

Then he'll put traitorelli dennis wise in the hot seat.

LATEST NEWS.... the take over will be done by tuesday afternoon, Ken Bates is selling his stake for a pitance to one of the richest blokes in the workld, Warnock is to be given a open Cheque book, and the reason we are not buying now is because the players we are chasing will not be back from the european championship till its over as many could be appearing in the final...... IF ONLY CARLSBERG DID TAKE OVERS !!!!!....... Dave

Do realise the need for info and possibly why people post they are in the know. However, whenever any company solicitors accountants etc etc deal with takeovers. Every company is under a strict NDA (non disclosure agreement) any information being leaked by any member of staff would bring the company into breech of contract, not only is this a costly affair to the perpetrator this would lose said company substantial future business and revenue. Take such future comments with a pinch of salt, no credible person would put their professional reputation at stake for a rumour site! Phil Bramley

i fully understand the need to do buisness behind closed doors and there will be no announcement til the deal is done but a simple "talks ongoing" would calm the fans i personaly think bates has taken us as far has he can (which is a long way from where we were when he came in) and is looking to get out hope i am right and he gets the best deal he can he did good for chelsea sit tight and hope mot

Agree3 Disagree5

If we lose Snoddy, Clayton, McCormack and White and don't get better replacements do you all really believe we can finish higher than last season's 14th? Seems unlikely to me, especially given Warnock's very poor performance last season when he was brought in to 'get more out of the current squad' to quote Harvey.

Agree2 Disagree2

Whites not even that good

Agree3 Disagree0

Well if we lose those players we can buy a better overall squad, rather than have a few good players. it all depends on if bates will hand the full transfer fees which we receive to warnock .if he gets them all then we could realistically build a squad that can get automatic promotion

Can I just say that it is getting very monotonous coming on here and reading all this "Bates out" and "We deserve to know" b**locks. We don't deserve anything of the sort. We don't own or part own Leeds Utd FC. Ken Bates does. He put his money where his considerable mouth is, because the Krasners, and Levi's of this world stripped Leeds Utd of any remaining assets (allegedly).

I come to this site because sometimes you get a flavour of real Yorkshire badanage, mixed with some really bizarre rumours. Have I missed something Ed has the site changed to one of real venom toward Norman Bates?

I happen to think that when there is some news we will all be informed as to what is or is not happening with Leeds Utd. There is a real undercurrent of invective toward Batesy and it isn't very edifying. I am and always will be a Leeds Utd fan and Season Ticket holder. I am not an apologist for KB, but what I am prepared to do is give him the benefit as he did stabilise our club and now it makes a profit. What some of our less informed fans need to do is calm down a bit. You will know when something happens as it will become official. Newspapers are in the business of selling Fear and greed and it appears that a lot of Leeds fans have fallen for it. Please we're better than that aren't we?

Jedburgh White

Believable12 Unbelievable9

Spot on! The absolute bottom line is that due to confidentiality clauses announcements can't be made. If any deal had fallen through we would know about it.
Calm down and be patient!

Agree6 Disagree4

Agree. The bates out stuff has been said. We don't own the club and do not deserve to be told what is going on.
However it would be nice to see a message come from elland road to calm our nerves. It might be obvious but I would not criticise a statement such as 'we continue to work with potential investors for the clubs interest.'

Agree3 Disagree6

Well said!! o.w

Totally agree , keep calm, it will happen, if it had fallen through we would have heard by now ( dave boz)

Who pays every wage at the club? Us, if the club had no supporters paying for tickets/season tickets and buying club merchandise then how would the club keep going? It's not rocket science is it,the club wouldn't get large sponsors or investments if the club had no supporters,Leeds united would not survive, simples, so yes I think you are wrong and we the supporters are owed from the club

As our song, our anthem, a song what we all sing with pride goes, " we've been through all together, and we've had our ups and downs, we're gonna stay with you forever, at least until the world stops going round"
Well we sing it, why don't we abide by it, Yes we're having our ups and downs, ( right now more downs than ups) the next part, we're gonna stay with you forever , after reading pages and pages of negativity from our so called greatest fans in the world, talk of boycotting elland road, bates out etc etc, this isn't " staying with you forever"
All we can do is get behind our team, be that twelfth man, make elland road the fortress the place opposing teams and fans feared, and back whoever runs out in the beloved Leeds shirt,
Let's get behind them , we are the greatest fans in the world and we will have a team who will challenge again
Marching on together ( dave boz )

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Im affraid elland road will never be a fortress again with the dross we put on the pitch and that will only change with lots of money and hopefully thats coming if Bates doesnt cock it up !

Agree7 Disagree3

The only way elland road will not be a fortress again is people like the above post and the negative feelings towards the club, be positive get behind the boys, " marching on together " ie all Leeds fans together, get behind the team, stop bickering amongst yourselfs, we are Leeds and proud, cmonnnnnnn ( dave boz)

I have been a season ticket holder for 31 years and never have I felt as angry as I do now. I am not one to jump on bandwagons and have in the past defended Bates but now feel an person for doing so. The contempt that man has for the clubs supporters is beyond a joke. We deserve a degree of communication on what is happening at present but get nothing. It is disgusting we get treat like this. No other club acts this way. Please go Ken

Believable11 Unbelievable6

I totally argee with you sir, I have always thought the anti bates and protests were stupid and always defended ken, but I really believe he is beyond a joke now, he has no interest in the fans which are the bread and butter of the club, he is chairman purely to make some good bucks from the club, I really believe now is the time for ken bates to move on also Harvey and lorimer, the chairman and board need a fresh start, if the club does not get a takeover we as the supporters need to take push to get these joke out of our club in the correct manor and this is beside of what squad we have and which manager at the start of next season

Agree3 Disagree5

The only reason it feels like we get told nothing is because of publicity pete, who used to call a press conference if they just changed the garibaldis to pink wafers in the board room at tea time. I must admit though we could at least be told whether or not the deal is still going ahead.

If it is and only if it is that things are stalling because Bates has put a ridiculous value on the club I think similar to players there should be an arbitration for what is a realistic price for the club. Bates has already proved himself to be NOT fit and proper to run a club, therefore pressure should be brought about to either except a reasonable price or relinquish his rights to the club. There surely should be a code of conduct chairmanship have to abide by.
Time to go Bates accept what's been offered and go for the sake of all our fans. Phil Bramley

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I think ken bates is fit and proper just wants wants whats best for him and the club id rather have him than some of the others that are in charge of some of the other clubs . the bulldog

The chairman thinks we're morons remember
He must own the yep cos never get an honest story from them just old second hand news once bad Santa tells them they can speak plus why else would lorimer get his own pointless page in it
The club won't tell us anything cos we won't like what we hear and it will stop people buying tickets we just have to accept ken is doing what he's always wanted to do

Please Neil get someone to say something!!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I thought we had a head of communication and media at the club ? I understand confidentiality and sensitivity of a proposed takeover / investment but it doesnt mean you say nowt. 'Were having ongoing discussions with potential investors and the manager has been informed in full and is supporting the delay in team aquisitions until these have been completed'...Pretty basic line but the muppets at the club obviously cant even offer a one liner. Just hope someone at the club reads this and feels ashamed....so you should be

hello fellow leeds fans...i read a lot of people on this site saying neil is doing a good job...what planet are you on..he has 3 wins out of 14 to his name compared to simon s 6 out of his last 14..dont be saying they are not his players both managers had the same squad to pick from..im not sure about neil especially as my notts forest buddy says he was useless with them...just as i thought mr warnock was sorting out our worst defence in football history forest put 7 past us...i fear the worst..j5

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Grayson chose the players we had last season, Neil inherited them and didn't have a choice. You would therefore expect Grayson to do better with that particular set of players, and i'm sure when Warnock sorts out his own set of players, he will have much more success

Agree4 Disagree2

Colin made no secret that most of the players were not in his plans, so don't think they were obviously giving 100% as most knew who they were

Agree5 Disagree2

What planet are you on mate ? NW has had 7 Promotional seasons and is one of the most respected managers in league. He delivers straight not bull talk and is seen animated on the touchline delivering to those who dont play to plan. I've never seen Grayson be anything other than pleasant and reserved and hasnt shown fans that he can back up his bunch of players with a kick up the Ar** when needed. Grayson got promotion this year but luck of penalties not performance... Give it a rest.

Do you sit in your seat at Elland road much and watch without comment or do you stand, shout encouragement and the occasional bollocking hoping the team hear it ? Thats what I want to see from MY MANAGER

Agree1 Disagree1

Thanks for the response to my first ever post on this site..i sure hope you are right about the results when neil gets his own players in..gotta admit i do like the sound of pearce..fingers crossed..j5

Agree1 Disagree0

I dont care what neil has done for others in the past im just concerned what he does for leeds..and at the moment he doesn t seem too have kicked too much a**e..i remember a certain mr venables touching gold wherever he went including saving m'boro from relegation with what can only be described as a miracle...didnt do much for us and like i said its only us i am bothered about..thats what planet i'm on

Agree3 Disagree1

Well whoop de woo, warnock stands screaming on the touchline. Half the kop could do that. I wonder what he's screaming half the time because we never play differently and you could guess the tactics last season. You could almost hear him thinking as he walked off at half time and things weren't going our way, 'give it ten minutes, then i'll stick webber on for white'. I personally couldn't care less if a manager sits silent for a whole game. Screaming at your own players during the game is desperation, not quality management, it's a sign of a manager not knowing what else to do. Half time and training grounds are for rollocking players, touchlines are for communicating new ideas to win the game.

Agree1 Disagree2

Harvey stated that Warnock had been brought in to get more out of the current squad and Warnock clearly thought he could do that. On every level he failed. The football was awful, results were much worse and we'd have been bottom by 10 points if you extrapolate Warnock's results over the whole season. In the meantime, Grayson's got his 3rd promotion and he's a LOT younger than Warnock...

Bates saved us! he has made leeds united a stable club once again, but there comes a time where success is more important. Bates needs to sell up now, or next season could be a complete disaster! i believe warnock will leave, and so will 5 or 6 of the players if bates does not sell up this week. if he does i could see this season being very successful. We have the best manager in the league, and the best fans all we need is a half decent chairman.
Snodgrass will stay if we sign 3 or 4 decent players which nw and bates promised him,
so if bates goes it will be a season to remember, if he stays i can see league 1 football again.
also kenny will come to leeds and loners will leave!
MOT keep believing!

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Bates saved us. i do not think so. the guy has probaley had between 60 to 80 mil out of lufc for no investment. get real or a life

Agree5 Disagree4

I agree with the original poster. He did save and at the same time he has made some tidy money out of us. I want to thank him for what he has done but at the same time I want to kick him where the sun don't shine. If people think he didn't save us, then you need to go back and realize no one wanted anything to do with Leeds other than bates and that sainsbury bloke who didn't have any money.yes we have been ripped off and bled dry but what would you do if you controlled a football team you didn't support?

Agree2 Disagree4

ITS A BUSINESS and KB is not a fan or supporter of this club. He wanted to stabilise and increase profit from development alone. Yes he's made money but this lack of concern for a competitive playing team and lack of his investment in the team progressing has made the club with little to play for. Its sad but the turnstiles are the only statistics which matter to him and we as fans control that

Agree3 Disagree2

No he didn't - he put us into administration in the first place. Go check the facts.

He's a leech and is dragging our club further down.

Agree5 Disagree2

Bates did not save us .. he manipulated the situation for his own and his cronies benefit. Anybody who is prepared to read up on all the facts regarding his involvement with our club would see that. Bates brings nothing but shame on a our club.

To all frustrated Leeds fans think we need to hold tight a little longer. Personally think its poor we have had no statement from anyone within the club on this takeover for two weeks. Even if they just say talks are ongoing etc etc at least would show that they understand us and that we actually really care. The club needs to understand the biggest asset we now possess is the massive fan base and its loyalty. Like all Leeds fans I despise Bates but surely from a business perspective he needs to act sharpish as he knows the blind loyalty will not go on forever and therefore he cannot make money. We need a chairman who appreciates the fans are the essence of the club. The fans all want to watch a team that is worth the £30+ we all pay each week. Premiership prices we pay for a team much weaker than our league 1 promotion team. RANT OVER. Let's hope for some good news this week

Believable4 Unbelievable2

You have painted all Leeds fans with the same brush. I for one respect Bates and thank him for saving us, Where would we be without? Yes i think Bates needs to move on but in no way do i despise him.

Agree7 Disagree8

I feel the first post is nearer the truth, you may not despise him but you are quite possibly in a minority. You are of course , entitled to your opinion. I am of the opinion that he is the worst thing that ever happened to leeds utd and do not believe for a second that he saved us. Sooner he goes the better as far as i am concerned.

This is for you Ed! So i can be added to your list as im getting more confident in using our site so keep up good work and very well done for having balls to boot of the dopes that spit all the vitreol !!I don't really post but have had a comment on a fair few ! My thoughts are this,if after all this and we end up with nothing either investment or takeover we as normal will start as we have each year lately, playing catch up to all our rivals, taking loaners or whatever on our pre-seasons. Tours and then adding what we can in between, surely without funding the only way is freebies as our norm but at present we have a great crop of freebies/cheepies ie cox, whitbread,Norris Gordon, kenny to name afew could we not at least be seen to be on the chase of these guys,ye I know monies are tied up but come on if I wasn't doing a good enough job at work I'd be down the road ,so why if nobody wants to buy our lesser players can't we send them down THE ROAD like we would be to get them of the books and free up revenue ! Yes I. Know contracts this n that but they failed to do the job the were brought for !! Not doing whats on the tin!! Would be much better than havingn them on the gravy train not needing to leave as we pay their way till it suits !! What you guys think ? Just a thought wingy Mk
