Saying for ages Pugh a good player and a great squad player due to his versatility. We need to stick by all our players even those on the edge of the squad because you never know when they going to be needed. That includes Brown who will always give his all. MOT

Behave . The comments weren't or at least shouldn't have been, personal . The players mentioned have given dire and unworthy performances prior to yesterday . They were well worthy of the criticism because they weren't fit to wear the shirt! Playing for a buyer because no one wants them . Don't get me wrong, loving the end result but don't get sucked into the romance of passion for the club, hope the fact that they need a new club inspires their performances and pushes us to the Prem . But think it's more about them than us . Don't care what inspires em to be honest just want the end results.!

Agree0 Disagree0

To the second poster; TOTALLY agree with the sentiments

Some fringe players playing on Saturday were/are playing for themselves and NOT for the team;

they know who they are!

Agree0 Disagree0

Second and third posters both talking cr*p. Pugh and Brown have performed just as well as most of the squad, its only the pathetic Leeds fans who always have to have a scapegoat to pick on.
Thankfully McDermott knows the players and their qualities and doesn't heed to the numpties who think they know better.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm Pretty sure Danny Pugh wants to play for Leeds or why would he have resigned for us again.
He might not be the greatest footballer, but he is very versatile and puts in a shift. Grayson brought him in to replace Andy Hughes, it's just unfortunate that the last two managers have overlooked him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy Hughes very similar to Pugh but poles apart when it comes to being loved at ER. Just because Pugh doesn't kiss his badge and pump his fist does not mean he don't care about LEEDS. I've always liked Pugh and like his attitude but it takes a very strong geezer to overcome the negativity towards him from certain fans. I really believe givena run in the team either starting or even off the bench he can become a very important player for us. Think Madeley? Although obviously not in same class! MOT.

Great win yesterday especially when we had only 38% possession according to newspapers. Just as important were the performances of Brown and Pugh who relished the opportunity to fight for a place, I take my hat off to them.
We all get down after a defeat, but this shows that we should get behind every individual who pulls on the white shirt and not slag them off.
Players are human, criticism hurts and players can't be great every game. What helps though is everyone giving them their backing through thick and thin. I've tried to do that since 1965 and will do until my last breath. MOT Ron.

Good post mate, shame it will be lost on the negative numpties who inhabit these boards.

12 goals scored in the last 4 games and fans were worried about us not scoring goals.

Realistically though, with this formation I think we can win 4 in 6, with maybe a draw. We keep that upwe will be ok and in contention for a playoff place.

OP here to post below. If you mean I am worried about not scoring goals then I am a little.
12 in four is great, but how many of those has Ross scored, at least half I would guess (though I may be wrong). That's what worries me, if he goes or gets injured (like Becchio that season he was on fire) we are back to square one. We need another quality partner / competition for Ross in January, that has to be the priority!

I have to say well done lads yesterday. Really looking forward to the rest of the season. Two things are worrying me though.
1 - Ross has got a lot of goals this season, but we are struggling abit to pick goals up from other positions.
2 we must brace ourselves now for Norwich to come in and offer a bag of chips for Ross. Now that's a FACT!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Quick we better invest in a goalscores and a couple of wingers.

And Norwich can f**k off

Agree0 Disagree0

OP here. I agree. Who knows we ma swap places in May, we could then insult them offers!

Agree0 Disagree0

FFsake in the transfer window lots of people were saying we need a 20 goals a season man, we have got one in Ross, now we need 2 in case he gets injured . How many championship teams have 2, 20 goals men? other people just have to step up to the plate if he gets injured and bang a few in, Smith looks like he is starting to settle and the patnership with Dexter looks good . We need a bit more craft in the team and we will get to the play offs .

Agree0 Disagree0

Excuse we Thailand White, OP here. That's not at all what I said! Please re-read what I have put, did I ever say another 20 goal a season bloke! NO! I said just someone to put a few in. Blackstock is only with us til Jan and to be honest Smith is not good enough! We just need another good striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP
While I don't agree with you about Smith (we all have our opinions ) I do see the contexct of your post and agree with most of it. But I think it depends on how BMD wants us to play, either keeping to the same formation as now, or adopting a formation with wide men. That would mean us having to buy at least one, probably two pacy wingers . This would suit both a Ross / Smith or Blackstock pairing. I get your point about Dexter only being here till Jan, but if he does the buisiness there's a good chance we will keep him, if not, another Striker would then be needed .
If he keeps to the same formation as now, I feel some Craft and creativity is required from midfield to help Mowatt and they don't come cheap lol. Anyway I never intended to critisise mate . MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

With the right service Smith is easily good enough and will only get better. We have other positions that require more urgency.

Think if your prepared to give it out and have a go at the players you have to be big enough to say when you're wrong, as I certainly was with both Brown and Pugh. they've got so much stick from myself and others i'm surprised they wanted to pull on a Leeds shirt again, but I have to take my hat off to both of them, true true professionals not had games but came back in terrible conditions and literally fought for the shirt. But Ross Mc if anyone should ever slag him off again or think about it, just think back to yesterday before you decide to type. Well done the boys MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Before I take anything back, I'll need to see a lot more EFFORT from some so called fringe players!

Agree0 Disagree0

When has Pugh or Brown not given 100% effort? its skill they sometimes lack and in Browns case when and when not to steam in with crunching tackles, to be fair to him he does get little slack from refs because of his past lol, but surely you can't say he doesn't try?

Im a coach driver, and would like to say well dome and many thanks to the away supporters of leeds united. The amount of time and effort put in by the pub I take to away games is unbeliveable as i'm sure with all away fans. This particular pub and me set off to charlton at 7am and didn't arrive home until 10 pm costing them £50 for ticket and travel before we even set off + spends down there
Thanks for been the heart and soul away fans :D and of course home fans aswell

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Which pub mate and is there places available for games later in the season?

im happy bout the result even more for ross but even more happy with efforts of pugh and brown because they get a lot of stick and when given the chance in the team you have to play your heart to show the boss your still apart of his plans new defender doing well and away win list goes on . well done boys!

I was at Charlton yesterday. Ross took the chances, great result. Difficult conditions, just thought, what a professional Danny Pugh is, not been anywhere near the side, but put in a real shift and showed some quality touches. Top bloke.

Great result at Charlton and scoring 4 against a team who had not conceded in over 7 hours shows we have a cutting edge. Defending still remains our Achilles heel, schoolboy defending by Peltier and Lees for their second goal
