AR should be trying to lure Evra to ER. We need a LB among many other positions.

George, I'd even let him kick me if he comes! 😁

Thought the same, then saw his ban was until the middle of 2018!

Bright, only 7 months. We will still need a LB in 2018.

At this time of year let me remember a few of our missing comrades. Some of the gang who haven't been around for a while are liverlass, peterboro white, degsy leyland, bermondsey white, and the sometimes unreadable one leeds. Maybe I have missed some out - apologies. On a more serious note - wear your poppy with pride.

I'd like to know your January targets to strengthen the squad. I think Christiansen has a good 11/12 players, these being Lonergan, Ayling, Jansson, Shaugnessy, Berardi, Phillips, Vieira, Anita, Saiz, Dallas, Hernandez, Lasogga. IMO these players, on top form, could make top 6. However my issue is that the likes of villa, wednesday, wolves, boro, all have strength in depth and about 3/4 substitute players of a similar quality who could easily do a job if pulled in to the starting 11. In recent years i look at teams who have done well in being promoted and why they have done so. Huddersfield had Mooy, Newcastle, Shelvey, Villa have Hourihane, Bournemouth had arter, Burnley had Hendrick. These are all box to box central midfielders who could do a job defending, breaking up play, spreading a pass and moving forward. that's one thing kalvin is missing from his game, he's a tough tackler, he works hard, but his end product isn't up to standard yet. Partnering him with an experienced player and playing a 4 in midfield would do wonders for us. To me the team we could see as a realistic one come end of the season/next year, regardless of our league position is: Ward (ex huddersfield, liverpool keeper) , Ayling, Jansson, Shaugnessy, (left back open for discussion, Henry from walsall looks good, Ralls whos at rangers on loan from cardiff is also an option for us, very attacking player and strong in the challenge, does remind me of taylor) . 4 in midfield with dallas on the left, phillips/vieira/woods (take your pick) as the two in central midfield, and a new lad on the right, alioski, roofe, or sacko don't cut it for me and i feel this is a key area to strengthen. Players like Jordan Ibe, Lookman, Calvert-Lewin, maybe even adomah from boro? saiz as a number 10 then ings/vibe/reid could all be starters too up the top end. We need a big, and very constructive january to get this show in the road again. Key that we buy right and really invest. Proven recently that investment has gotten stronger teams results. We have a platform to go off in Saiz, Jansson, Shaugnessy, Ayling, Vieira, Phillips, Dallas, but we need a bit more of a threat, currently i would look at our team and as opposition would only feel a threat coming from saiz or lasogga, more of this threat please.

Rico Henry is a decent left back but he left Walsall to sign for Brentford in the summer I think so can't see them letting him go so soon. Not seen the Cardiff kid play so can't comment on him. Agree with you on the areas we need to strengthen though but will be interesting to see who is available and whether we make any moves in or out.

Someone to replace Victor Orta as DOF. Someone British based and oriented. Harry Redknapp? He likes a deal. Actually Harry makes me want to throw up so anyone else got suggestions to make?

I watched the 2 v 1 and 0 v 1 wins over Leicester and Bournemouth in 1990 on You Tube last night. Like a bit of nostalgia etc. Both hard fought matches. Vinnie and Kamara played in both, alongside the likes of Beglin and Strachan. Rough and smooth. And we went up.

I HATE Redknapp with a passion! Anyway he gets a nosebleed when he comes North of Birmingham, so there's no chance.

O'Leary been invited back to ER "to take in a few games" by AR, maybe wants his advice on players? Or help for Orta or even a potential director of football role? Thoughts anyone!

Wouldn't mind him as Director of Football or should that be Manager in Waiting?

I'd rather see Vinnie Jones invited to "take in a few games" and give a little inspirational speech before the game . and then be waiting in the dressing room at half-time to remind them all what he said :)
