Loving this Bamba signing so far, it just goes to show that championship experience is invaluable.

The chap has slotted straight in and looks great. Although I do hear he likes to go on a "wobble" (sorry, i'm a hockey player) every so often, which has hearts in mouths a little.

IMHO we just need one more player in, someone who can play on the wing coming off the bench.

It's not just the experience. It's the fact that he is kinda good.

Love to know if there is an inside story to the Adryan saga. Comes, Does not play, Plays but does not last 90mins, does not play. Back in the reserves.
Surely in all this time if it was conditioning then the backroom staff could have got him fit by now. The lads supposed to ooze talent so why does he still flag after 60mins?
Maybe it's something else

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree. It's odd

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably because the pace of the Italian league is completely different to that of the championship, that coupled with the fact he hasn't played much in Italy and that we are in a dog fight at the bottom of the table (which I don't think he is "built" for) don't make him a viable option.

He is a luxury player and until we hit some form and confidence, he will not feature much.

Well put d.s. I was thinking the same thing and also thought Adryan is not the right player for this league. I see him as a bit of a show pony, who thought he would walk in to this team eyes shut. Then he realised how good the academy was and that there was players younger than him, that are better than him. The lad must be heartbroken.
Great win lads, mot,mot,mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Generally agree d.s.
But I'd probably usually have him on the bench

He played for u21s today or shall I say he turned out for the u21s today seems to have lost his desire maybe homesick if he can't stand out in the u21s he's miles off first team

D.s. is on the money. I personally believe we will refrain from purchasing him unless the price is halved from 3 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Send him back if he is sulking
Reddders says he isn't putting the effort in

Sorry but I can't agree with the people saying Morrison is doing a great job, nonsense. To say he does not need to score is a joke. He is a striker, plenty of players do the same job and score goals. Look at Smith last year, and hopefully Cani will do the job with goals. Yes he is playing well and he does hold the ball up well but when a decent team cuts out our midfield runs where are we with him up front. Anyway it will be his anniversary in a couple of weeks, two years without a goal many happy returns. Redders is still learning and we have every right to criticise his tactics, I pay for the privilege No one is saying Redders out, just he needs to get a grip on his team selections and substitutions which slowly and surely he is. I personally hope he takes us to the premiership and beyond. mot

BIGE
You are definitely entitled to say it how you feel. I have only listened to commentary on last few games and mainly they have been saying how good Morrison has been, especially last night, but I agree he should be scoring. I'd like him to get one for his own confidence as much as anything. I wouldn't for a minute have been picking him, but I would also have said that about Luke Murphy. I think you are right, Redders is still learning. I think we might all have underestimated just how long it takes for foreign and new players to gel together, and what effect all the nonsense going on in the background has had on the pitch. There will definitely be more ups and down for the rest of this season, but (even if its still Redders and mainly the same players), I think next season will see a big, big improvement

well morison wasn't good Saturday and can anybody really say he is going to score so 7 games no goals he never gets near the ball at corners never runs for a ball to far away once it while he might he thinks he's better than the rest always pointing his finger telling others to mark people and chase the ball while he just stands there needs to more nr now likes him didn't he b4 and mc says to play him why the money he's on

Top win last night.

Just want to put this out there as I have been looking at Redferns stats for this season.

Under the 2 other managers it reads
P- 10, W- 1, D - 3, L - 6 PTS - 6

Redfern
P- 20, W 8, D- 5, L - 7, PTS - 29

His away record is P - 10 W 3 D 3 L 4 PTS 12

looking at his average points per game record (29 divided by 20 = 1.45 per game

If you say that he had managed the other 10 games at the same level (which is fair but not foolproof I know but interesting) then we would have 44 points and be 9th in the league.

If we win on Saturday and we will I'm sure then the ratio gets better i.e 1.52 points per game.

Away record he is 11th.

So much better than the other 2 (but to be honest they were mistakes) my point is that bearing in mind all the changes this year would we accept this level of performance if Redders had been in charge from the start and was building towards a team/way of playing that could push for promotion next year?

What do we reckon? In my opinion I would think this was progress and at the end of year we would only need 2-3 good players to help us make that push (if we keep our best players of course), this would be a solid base to start from for next season rather than a whole new approach/team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree
Morrison had the chances last night but fluffed his lines. No good. When's his contract up? See how willing he is to play with a lower wages and a goal bonus system.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is hard work being up front on your own however I think that Morison is doing a job for the team. Yes, a striker is measured on goals however I could not give a toss who scores at the moment as long as we win. To be a promotion chasing team we will need a goal scoring forward however for now I am happy for Morison to do the graft up front on his own

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Notts, Morison may not be scoring but since he's been introduced we've been winning games so something is going right

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post DG, and others
Personally if we keep winning they can play a plank of wood at centre forward I couldn't care less (and no I'm not comparing Morison to a plank of wood)

Agree0 Disagree0

Since he has been the point man upfront we have amassed 11 points. When we reverted back to 2 strikers we lost the game.

Agreed he needs to contribute, however if we get 1 goal in 3 as a return and keep putting points on the table I am happy.

Once we are clear of any danger, we can start to brink Sharp and Antenucci in.

I think him scoring the winner against Milwall is written in the cards though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post DG. You put some work in there mate! ''Are you Statto in disguise?''.
We'll never know where we would be now if Redfern had been head coach at start of season but knowing Cellino as we do, he probably wouldn't have lasted this long and we'd have a super-coach in charge like Hockaday! :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree. DG. You got way too much time on your hands but good and interesting post
Re Morrison
So. When the rest of the team don't score isn't the striker supposed to Pop one in? And when did he do that?

Agree0 Disagree0

Aussie lol
Sam scored from the cross Morrison popped onto his head! Yes, yes I know you will say he had a chance to score himself and he should have scored when he hit the post. He didn't score, but definitely contributed to the win, and we will never know if Cani or anyone else would have done any better, so I'm happy to cut him some slack when we win.

What do we do Sloth? Set up Murphy's gone but didn't do a great deal else from what I heard. We won so surely Redfearn must play him on Saturday and everyone else. As for Morison, two golden chances wasted again which any of our strikers would have buried.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sloth to start, seeing as Bianchi is possibly out for the season. It will free up a spot on the bench and possibly Adryan or NGoyi might get included.

Agree0 Disagree0

Smitch
We don't always agree, but I'm with you re Sloth all the way.
Agree he should start on Saturday

I really love how fickle suppossed fans are, after we lose on saturday " redders is rubbish get a proper manager", " morrison is rubbish we need strikers". Then 3 days later we win and everyone is like, " excellent from redders and the team, let's push on now" " strikers were excellent yesterday". ITs so boring to hear and you wonder why some good players come and go without doing anything, because the fans don't let them play there games. Like cani for example. He will be rubbish before he has even started because the fans already looked at his goals scoring history and presumed he will be rubbish. If I was him i'd just do one to another club. Sometimes it takes a player to join the right club/players and management to get the best out of a player. E.G Mane (southampton) was pants at where he came from really compared to PL standard and he can't stop assisting and scoring. Fans need to just go to work during the week and look forward to supporting our team on a saturday/tuesday. its sport you can't win all the time and you can't perform every game, its a case of getting behind the team and helping them whether there winning or losing. I think redders is perfect for the job and I think he knows a hell of a lot more than people give him credit and the team is good. when you bring different nationalities into a changing from and young lads its going to take time to build but as long as the team is the same next year plus a few extra we will be twice the team this season. chopping and changing every 2 mins is no good for any sport team. Rant Over! Great win can't wait to watch on saturday!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - It will be like this for the rest of the season and possibly beyond it until Mr Cellino wakes up to the mistakes and rectifies them. If he and Salerno listened to Redders then Leeds may have some width and better Championship players which in turn may prevent these bizarre results. Until then, Redders has to do the best he can and lets not forget how young this team is. Unfortunately fans will always be fickle, but I believe Leeds fans have been through every possible ups and down known to football and have a right to voice their concerns, especially after losing at home to Brentford. For now, enjoy a rare Tuesday night away win because who knows what will happen on Saturday}

Excellent post phil, succinctly put Ed, agree with every word above

Well said Ed. Passion is what makes our club so great ( certainly not the results). Whilst I would take a win every game (I am like a cat that got the cream today!)We were lucky and won against the run of play. Morrison missed some golden chances and we were saved by the mid field again! Of course people want to moan - that's what we do - even when we win😆 I love Leeds.

I assume you were at the game?
I wasn't - but the commentary definitely sounded like it was a well deserved win for a change!

Anyone know why Sam Byram got booked seconds after scoring?

{Ed013's Note - Jumping into the crowd}

Yes 1 booking for him and 2 for Billy for 'over celebrating' . Long may it continue!

At last an away win to be proud of.
However Millwall are on a roll and we are at best iffy butty.
As long as we continue doing better the Ugh Rotherham we will stay in this average division.
Notice Brentford lost so where exactly are we?
Maybe we had a decent ref which would have made a change from the dross we normally get.

"Millwall are on a roll"? didn't Udders beat them at the den 3-1 last Saturday? I think that's more of a backward roll.

11 Feb 2015 01:18:19
I understand why redders is stickin with Morison. He obviously wants a target man in 451 or 4321 formation. That's why he signed Cani as he is a target man, whey don't have to be out and out scorers but they need to hold ball up bring others in to play and be good in the air offensively and defesnively

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Strikers are supposed to score. He had a few chances and missed apparently!
Just would like a striker to score every other game. Maybe!

11 Feb 2015 07:00:35
Aussie would you prefer Morrison to have scored a hat trick and we lost 4-3? I know which I'd prefer!

Agree0 Disagree0

Degs would you prefer to win 3-0 and Morrison to score? Pointless post. ausman was sayin he wishes our striker would score 1 goal this season if possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Loveaway. Don't set morrisons target too high mate. Might demotivate him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol. Can't wait for the posts when he pops one in! Hope I don't have to wait tooooo long
