Jay Tabb has been told he can leave Reading....I'd personally have him over Brown anyday but I do not see Brown ever leaving with Warnock in charge.

Any thoughts on Tabb - would you have him?

So max gradel didn't play for st shat . So his he on his way home ? Is there a god ? Could you imagine if he ran out at dingle land tommorow ! O m g I can only dream ! Mot.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

He's at the af cup of nations, which unfortunately in my eyes dampens any speculation of his return. But they're are other wingers out there if we can formulate any kind of deal

Don't understand Barkley signing, 1 month loan, will not sign permanently, he'll be back at Everton after the loan. Hardly a medium or long term strategy, will be nice to see a good footballer for a few games but that's it. {Ed013's Note - Leeds have the option to extend, read my comments down the page to explain}

Looking at things I feel Ross Barkley is a fantastic addition to the squad all be it a months loan would love to see it extended until the end of the season though.

Bringing bodies in is a priority and I'd say wee need 4 very good players. I'd like to see Lewis Mcgugan, Clint Hill/Sol Bamba, DJ Campbell/CMS, Gary McKay Steven.

Also, can't wait until wee get rid of the dead wood, especially Pugh and Connolly.

Any opinions?

Not a rumour more looking for an opinion, John Guidetti's an exciting striker at man city is looking for an english club to join on loan now that he is fully fit. He turned down a move to the Serie A according to his agent.

Gotta be worth a punt, surely?

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Apparently City want him to get prem experience. Would be a great signing but ssn said there was interest from Southampton

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 20:25:19
John Guidetti would be a brilliant loan move, would get into most prem sides so if we get him it would be great, even if it's only a loan signing.

I am an Everton fan but Barkley will prove wonders for you his knowledge of the game is too good for the championship! so hopefully you keep him there until the end of the season but you will not sign him permanently Moyes knows he has potential. Good luck this season hope you come up!

Think Pugh is been given a hard time. Tell you what id rather him at LB than Peltier! Think he's a good squad player who at least always tries hard and can play in a number of positions. Great to have on the bench and has a terrific attitude.

Believable21 Unbelievable7

Totally agree mate. Danny is a good pro with a great attitude and i'd rather he stayed than lots of other 1st teamers... At least he's got a heart!

Agree10 Disagree2

Pugh is simply not good enough. Can you not remember last season when he was a regular first team player? He was such a liability, loads of people on the site were moaning about him. Get him off the wage bill, we need better than him.

Absolutely thrilled with the Barkely signing now if we can get some defenders who actually can defend we may make the play offs.

So far today is turning into the best day of 2013 with Warnock finally getting us a player with craft and vision.

20 days left please keep it going lads.

The talk that Warnock had must of been to ask for extra money towards wages as we have missed out

Believable2 Unbelievable5

From what I read its nowt to do with money, more to do with agents hawking players around who arent available, plenty of time for more quality signings.

Barkley signing is v shrewd imo cos he a young lad with good pedigree and is exactly the type of player we need I just hope we can secure his services for thr entire season if not then make most of him while he is here. Tonge made a big diff to the side in his first spell and I for one believe he will prove to be a good signing he got bags of experience something that is invaluable in this v competitive league an if we can get rossco firing again to help beccs out with the goalscoring we will be a force in the second half of the season mot for life. Wakey white!

Posted wed get barkley 2 weeks ago along with butterfield who I'm sure we were in for but has gone to bolton on a months loan. These 2 would have made a great cm pairing. Good young players. Who can play with bags of energy. Everyone can see the type of player we need its not rocket science. Burke must have been another that got away. And so will boyd or faulin come on harvey get your finhger out

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The recent signing of barkley, along with a few statements given by neil show GFH mean business and the sort of players that we look like we're getting are a lot better than we all thought. Barkley is on a loan with a view for signing so don't start moaning GFH have no money there only loaning players. We just don't know I'd say there pushing for promotion

Agree7 Disagree3

I hope we can get him permanently but I doubt it...Moyes rates him very highly (next Leon Osman) so doubt they'll sell

Agree1 Disagree0

Course we gonna push for promotion we would be mad not too! i think were one of the best teams in the league just fink we need that stability, i can't wait too see what happens next i do hope we bring in another winger because i don't think hall or anyone else can deliver like the likes of GRADEL, TEMPELTON, SNODDY ETC .ANT MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

There is no view for signing that is BS mate he is highly regarded for big things in the premier league and everton he is at leeds on a short loan so he can play week in week out and gain valuable experience not join for your club don't kid yourself there

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry but there is no chance whatsoever that we will sign Barkley he's the next big thing at Everton let's just enjoy him while we can because we won't get him permanently.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley's move is NOT a view to a permanent deal, Moyes won't let him go.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 17:08:04
Hope gfh pull there checkbook out now and sign more like Barkley but permanent. (Btw not completely like barkleys standard as he would cost too much)
Hope we spend a decent lump now on good players

Some outsiders to watch (with a pricetag we can match)..! ;-)
YOU HEARD IT FROM ME FIRST..! :P
Marco Rojas, Winger from Melbourne (Aus)
got pace, creativity and a good cross.?
Nicklas Hult, Winger from Elfborg (Swe)
a rising star..!
Alexander Milosevic, CB from AIK (Swe)
great and young, gonna be a swe international for many years..!
Pontus Jansson, CB from Malmo FF (Swe)
one of swedens most interesting upcoming defenders..!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Rojas is from New Zealand by the way

Agree1 Disagree0

Marco Rojas would be an excellent signing, but not Niklas Hult.

Leeds should sign Magnus Wolff Eikrem the lad is pure quality, available, and cheap should be rated highly plays CAM or faux no. 10. can also play from the wing.

But the guy we should sign is Alexander Soderlund he is a great striker and an international with a quality that can score a whole range of goals and his link up play is great, with pace and technique.

I would really welcome Leeds scouting and hiring from Scandinavian countries it has served us well in the past and the style of football is linked to the English game.

Fees and wages are not inflated like in England it makes perfect sense to recruit from there.

Agree2 Disagree0

Football manager

Agree1 Disagree1

Lo no I spen half my time there these days through work, these are players that I've seen live on a number of occasions don't take my word for it sure there will be plenty of clips of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 2nd Reply, Eikrem is a quality player but used to play for them and is 21 and recently said that he loves Molde. Would cost in the millions. Would be a real statement of intent but i we could go in for him

I am sure I am showing my footballing ignorance here but what is the point of month loans? There must be some reason but the logic escapes me. If it's so that clubs can send their under-used players out to get match fitness so they can return ready to slot into their first team then I would say don't take them on.
CJS {Ed013's Note - To see if he plays well enough to extend the deal and could be that both clubs are in for other players and therefore could be recalled if Everton need him or Leeds may only use him until someone else comes in. My gut feeling is that he will extend if he does well enough}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Depends if Everton sell Fellaini and fail to replace him.

Agree4 Disagree0

Perfectly said Ed. If its true we can't get any of the 8 targets we were in for to budge such a signing is necessary. It protects us in midfield for 5 league games. That could amount to 15 points gained. Good deal by NW but only a master stroke if the boy plays out of his skin and he extends til the end of season.

Agree5 Disagree0

Cheers Ed, makes sense now.
CJS {Ed013's Note - No worries mate}

Agree1 Disagree1

Sheffield Wednesday agreement was the same. Then month by month.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 18:21:03
Just read that you can only have a recall clause (wanted by Everton) in the emergency loan window. That would take LUFC to May 16th, missing any play off.

Andy

Agree0 Disagree0

You can keep young Ross for all I care, vastly over-rated and is NOT the next Rooney as he's been billed as. He continually gives the ball away and is very greedy. He's worth around 500k at best

Agree1 Disagree1

Incorrect as last season when we were talking about Stockdale on a season long loan it fell through because we wouldn't agree to a recall clause, Ipswich accepted and were left high and dry when Schwarzer got injured!

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 14:07:56
Heard we have option to extend barkley till end of year depending how everton go. Hope so would be class and still hoping we get ojo and a defender would just need a winger after and we are basically set once the dross has gone.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

As an Everton fan I can tell you that you most definitely do not. But you have got a very talented player on your hands for the rest of the season and given time to gain match fitness he'l do well for you'se, He could actually become quite important in your push for promotion

Agree1 Disagree1

Thanks for posting this mate . Hope he can help us back to where we belong then we can have some more great days instead of going to places like BARNSLEY !

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree mr everton fan.
I went to the famous leeds-sheff w game and he was part of that midfield where they doninated the ball and our pensioners in midfield just couldn't keep up. Just what we need someone who can hold the ball in centre of the park and makes things happen! good player hope we can have him till end of the season though. Another LB, CB and LM and seriously we will get back to where we belong. MOT!

A recent post on here listed about 8 players to get rid
Of. Must say, I agree, surely, if we are not playi g them
Or don't want them, sell em to 50k to league 1
Side and save their wages. Sell 5 to pay for better 2
I applaud recent loan from Everton and I.m 100
% source gfh are smart and know what they are
Doi g. I would prefer quality signi g rather than loans though
And only 1% sure wRnock has any idea what he is doing
Time will tell
Patience is a. Virtue I'm attempting g to master

Believable1 Unbelievable2

It was myself who made that post players again:

GK Rachubka
RB Connolly
CB Bromby
CB Kisnorbo
LM Pugh
L/RM Rogers
CM Brown
CAM Nunez
ST Varney

9 players that Leeds could easily clear from the playing squad/wage bill and not notice any loss in performance. The savings this would give us funds for wages.

Why have competition if that competition is useless? On a plus side to this rather having over the hill players on our bench stopping youth development. You would instead of having Varney coming on for 10/15 minutes you would have Poleon.

People will argue not to get rid of Kisnorbo for what he did for us, and whilst the guy was immense and is a cult hero there is a time and place to say thank you you're a legend and good bye and good luck for me that time is overdue.

The problem with the new owners finances and therefore our transfer budget is down to bad timing unfortunately. One of GFH's backers has had to use some of the money he was going to invest in Leeds to shore up another of his businesses after they missed out on a big order so nearly slipped into bankruptcy. This means funds will be limited till the summer annoyingly.

All this may sound bad news but if the company had gone bust this partner would have had to leave the consortium and GFH would have been in a bit of trouble. As it is they can still look for extra investment, something they have been doing anyway as more money is always a good thing, but they have time to do it at there own pace and not have to jump in straight away with anyone who shows an interest.

11 Jan 2013 12:09:45
Two things about the Ross Barkley Signing, first and foremost this is a good signing and a good statement. He may only be young but from what i have seen and what people say, he seems to be a top talent. This is a good move he has potential to succeed and i thought he did well for Sheff Wed. Secondly i don't think this would be the knd of signing we would have been able to make under Bates, its not a steller signing by any stretch of the imagination but its alson not a player nobody wants. I think it proves that NW is working hard to find good players. Plus i never read anywhere about him being linked to us so again shows NW trying to sign players. if i was to have one criticism about?... that its only for a month but that may be down to Everton. So 2 pairs of freshlegs available for tomorrow. Things are looking up! MOT

Our fans are starting to wind me up as much as our previous chairman. I can't see how any1 can slate Warnock. He's had to work with no money and we're not far off the play offs with a bunch of journeymen and misfits(Warnocks only options). Now when money MAY be available every1 is having a go cos we haven't signed messi. Those who don't want messi only seem to want former players who either went for the money or deserted a sinking ship. If I was Warnock I woulda walked in the summer.

Believable11 Unbelievable4

We don't want messi, we want one new signing that is not a loan or who has not previously been on loan to us and is under the age of 30 years, is that too much to ask? We also want a team who does not concede the appalling amount of goals it does, we want a team that can keep posession (please refer to our stats as we have only kept more than 50% of posession on 2 to 3 occassions this season), we want a manager who does not sign players like peltier, kenny, varney, hall for about 1.8 million as we think the money can be better spent, we don't want to watch appalling hoof ball every home game as the attendances will go even further down, these are the things we would like. Sorry for continuing to wind you up but you will realise this is a forum for fans to say what they feel, apologies if you do not like this but tough.

Agree5 Disagree3

Well said mate.....although his over use of players like brown and under use of players like mcormack is a little baffling . that issue aside he's took a very difficult job

Agree1 Disagree3

You can't see how anyone can slate Colin?? We can't stand plan A (hoof) plan be is hoof longer and when we do play football he soon puts a stop to it at half time as second we revert to hoof.

Last season we went backwards under him, this season we've gone further back. He relies too heavily on over hill the players who did it for him in the past; loyalty is great but not at the cost of our teams promotion. We want young hungry players not old never been hoofers (I fit in to that category so there's hope for me!). I wish he'd walked in the summer - lambert was first choice anyway but bates wouldn't pay the 2m compo to Norwich; so we ended up with Col and his terrible coaching staff. Jones is incompetent - see recent outbursts after Brum match. Hopefully no Derry or Hill - more young signings like the loan one today

11 Jan 2013 15:04:10
OP here, what's up with Kenny? Bar kaspar I can't think of a better keeper in the league. As for the other signings, as previously stated Warnock has had to make the best of what he's got. Who else was available? Alan smith? Beckford? Am not saying I like or rate all our players am saying Warnocks back is against the wall and to get us where we are I reckon he isn't doin too bad. He's had the balls to give byram a go and Diouf is a class apart. Get behind him.
