If you don't take your chances you get punished . Too many missed chances but overall not a bad display.

One doesn't like to blow one's own trumpet but I believe I called the England line up and formation with Rooney playing in a deeper role . I said wilshire instead of alli but that's cause I forgot about him lol . Should have won the game . I'll apply for the job when Hodgson gets sacked when we inevitably crash out .

12 Jun 2016 11:48:56
Rooney though not my cup of tea should never have come off. Played really well.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 12:03:57
I'd rather have you Lanc than Woy Hodgson.
I think the mistake he made was not noticing early enough that certain players who were great in the first half seemed knackered well before the end of the game. (Lalana and Rose) for example.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 12:31:00
well I called it was an awful line up and put money on russia to equalise with us which got me a few quid in. Rooney should not be playing. he did have a decent game but will get found out against the bigger teams and does not offer enough. let's face it he don't score for england in tolements or against big teams when up front what chance has he got in midfield. Drinkwater shouldof been playing or witlshire. Sirtling played well but final ball always bad. Ali is pure class. one thing we know, england will conceed therefore we need to score at least 2 every game. why is vardy not playing? this team should be build around vardy kane and ali with dier who is great behind. If rooney don't fit that which he don't he should be on the bench behind rashford and sturridge to play. roy has let us down yet again in a tolement, after brazil it was amazing he kept his job. roy is englands answer to the hock. ok maybe not that bad.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 12:32:15
Rooney hasn't the legs for an up and down the pitch mid-field role (skills, maybe? yes) . The big problem over recent years at summer tournaments is the England players have all come off the back of a hard season, it is difficult to then raise your game again for a summer tournament and then start off a new season in top form . Also the purple nosed one did not want his players putting in their best performances for England, it was always pride of devon first.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 13:20:30
PA, I can't really agree with all that hard premier league season stuff. I mean Dimitri Payet seems to be doing o. k.

Why was Harry Kane taking corners surely he should be in the box.

12 Jun 2016 14:18:49
England Far too boring and predictable and couldn't score when they were dominating possession and then conceded a stupid late goal. Trying to think who they reminded me of 😃.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 15:01:10
Ok maybe danumwhite re Payet . Why are the England players tiring and running out of steam? Very difficult to be on top form for the season, then for the off season and then back up to peak form again . The old saying is form is temporary and class is permanent.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 15:06:50
They weren't boring. They played well apart from in front of goal. Russian goalie did ok. We but unlucky but no excuses. Should have win
Just couldn't finish
Rooney one of best on pitch even though I don't like the bloke
Kane was rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Jun 2016 15:22:31
Agree Aus, Kane was rubbish, should have taken him off for Vardy or Sturridge.
PA, you maybe right.
If Payet has a great Euros and France go all the way, he may just have a poor season next season.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 07:46:29
Well I think Rooney proved he has to play . I too don't like the bloke but he's still the best we have unfortunately with a football at his feet .

I've only just read the posts from the last couple of days due to being busy at work.
I think Ed's on the banter site where people sign up you need to add the statement, "please do not commit to signing up unless you have a screw loose". 😵
Then again being a Leeds fan there is little point in taking life too seriously!
We are mad, we are mad, we are Leeds! 😜.

It's a pity for Steve Evans that we didn't have Greenpeace on board last season.
I mean aren't they into saving the whale? 🐳
He may have just kept his job! 🐋.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jun 2016 14:06:16
Probably not, as Greenpeace are also into cutting waste and emissions and the amount of crap that came out his mouth was unreal.
Now we have a Monk in charge then he should be whiter than white. A prefect match.

Unless we spend big and well on player recruitment in the next 2 months or so, this sponsorship deal could prove disastrous. Let's pray we get the right result.

Its a charity deal george can't put betting sponsors on kids shirts so agreed for greenpeace to save the rain forests.

Bige

It's a wonderful deal no doubt. I like Greenpeace but it's still income for us even if it's from a charitable source.

We going to need good PR once we get hit with the Lucy compensation which I'm expecting to be in the 2m area sadly.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 10:03:01
They are not paying george. £5 from sale of every junior kit goes to save the rain forest in indonesia. It was agreed they could have the space because main sponsors can not use it.

Also expect ward to get a years wages. She should get off her ass and get a job instead of trying to screw us. Did a good job for us and should get one easily.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 14:25:45
Ah ok thanks Bige. Ward is playing the victim to maximize compensation. She seems to be pulling that off quite nicely. I'm bracing for a big liability. You do realize discrimination like that has no cap on compo. That's why I say Cellino lost the plot beyond even his ridiculous self. There was no burning need to get rid of her.

Just looked on released lists through the premier league and there are some really good players that have been released it seriously think about if I was Garry monk.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

11 Jun 2016 12:23:29
I'm sure that GM and the powers that be are well aware who is on the released list from all the PL teams. As ever it will be identifying those who are affordable and also prepared to drop down a division.

Going back to the Sgt Wilko days, we were able to get the likes of Strachan, Chapman etc as we obviously made it clear we were going for promotion and it worked. By the way, congrats to the wee man on the news he's going to be inducted to the hall of fame, brilliant player and skipper.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jun 2016 12:47:27
Mark. Football is a lot different nowadays loads of players out there now are just mercenaries after wages no ambition no pride in the clubs they play for . No respect for clubs history or fans. Dealing with agents who don't care what a team gets as long as they get paid. I'm afraid we will never see the likes of Strachan again.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jun 2016 13:26:57
Have to agree with you mate, can only hope for a player coming towards the end of his career (as were Strachan and Chappy though different era then) who has made a bucketful of cash and is happy to take on a final challenge. Surely there must be one or two out there, maybe Milner in a year or two!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jun 2016 16:10:52
Agree lads. The problem now is the massive gap in wages between premier and championship. Back when we got Strachan he got a comparable wage as what he was on already in top flight. Those days are gone i'm afraid!

So then guys here is my opinion about Transfers and who we should keep and let go and give contract extensions to etc First who I think we should keep Cook, Taylor, Mowatt, Wood, Doukara, Bamba, Cooper, Silvestri, Bailey Peacock Feathers, Coyle, Digoura and Dallas They were all obvious ones IMO.

Next the not so obvious Douk, Bellusci, Botaka, Erwin, Murphy and Ross Turnbull. I would sell Bianchi and Sloth Obviously. I would loan out Lee Erwin and maybe Kalvin Phillips in Jan if he is not getting much game time.

I would call up Tyler Denton as a back up LB and call up Frank Mulhern as a back up striker who I would maybe loan for the same reasons as Kalvin. I would Cook and Taylor and Mowatt all new deals. Personally I would give them short term deals because I personally think Young Players should'nt get a incredible amount of money at Young age which we would have to give them to give them long term deals.

I would also give a new deal to any player with only 12 months or less on their contract. Also this a bit of point but it was a decent bit of business by the club to Bailey Peacock feathers a new deal it was probably to do with Monk coming in. Anyway now we just need Cook Taylor and Mowatt to get new deals and I think we would all be happy bunnies I should say Peacocks. (Get it? I'll see myself out. )

Anyway now onto new signings and I personally think we need to sign a proven experienced championship striker preferably with pace and who can score 20+ goals. I also think we need a Good Experienced Championship CB. I also want us to sign a Premiship Winger on loan who not getting much game time and a young Premier League prospect striker like this Ashley Fletcher Lad From the Pride of Devon.
I would play a 442 with this side of we could get the signings
1. Silvestri
2. Beradi
3. Bamba
4. New CB
5. Taylor
6. Digoura
7. Cook
8. Dallas
9. New Winger
10.Wood
11.New Striker Bench - Bailey Peacock feathers Mowatt Coyle Denton New Striker Douk Botaka

(As for the players who are in the current squad in starting 11 they in my opinion our are best players for quality in those positions but if they are out performed then they can be dropped to the bench for an other I.e Dallas for Botaka. So they are in short my opinions about all of those things also I am going to do another post to fill some things I missed out because it was only brief.

But I think if all these things happen we have good chance for the playoffs under Monk's Management. So I am as usual at this time of year Optimistic now full of it like previous years but still optimistic so let's hope this time the Summer's optimism is lived up to and we as the best fan's in the world we get a season we deserve. MOT!

(RB) Berardi (CB) Bamba/ New (CB) New (LB) Taylor
(DM) Diagouraga (DM) Bridcutt/ Ghazal

Bench

(1) Peacock-Farrell
(2) Coyle
(3) Cooper
(4) Cook
(5) New
(6) Botaka
(7) New

11 Jun 2016 03:29:29
Have you seen wood play? Or not play?
Dallas and Silvestri not good enough for promotion pushing side
I'd play sloth
Rest is fairly accurate.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jun 2016 08:55:54
Sorry Stan but that side you have listed will not get to the playoffs as it is only slightly different to the team that finished 13th. I get your thoughts about young players not getting large contracts however how do you expect to keep Cook and Taylor on one year deals with a small increase in wage. It does not make sense. Also are you keeping Doukara or selling him?

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Jun 2016 09:14:28
Are you are replying to me Ausman? If you are I can see why you think Wood and Silvestri are not good enough for a promotion push but I don't Wood can handle being the No.1 Striker at top confidence but still being seen as the Star Striker for a massive club we are he will only score 13 to 15 even though IMO he Is a good striker at this level who is capable of 20 a season but he can't do it because he can't handle the pressure at a club like ours ( Proof of this is he did score 20 goals at smaller clubs in one season. ) at this level but bring in a good experienced championship striker somebody like Gary Hooper It will take the pressure of him I think he will excel and score 20 goals or maybe more while if we do bring in that kind of striker he should score about the same aswell. As for Silvestri I think he is a good Keeper at this level and I know he is poor of set pieces but to be a good Keeper you don't have to be good at set pieces to be great you do but to be good you don't but you have be a great shotstopper which Silvestri is. (An example of a good Keeper who is poor at set pieces is I know people won't like this David De Gea at the Evil Empire he is poor at set pieces but a quality shop stopper and he is looking like he is going to the Real Madrid. ) Also Silvestri should get more support of he is CB and tall players of st pieces IMO. So both IMO are good enough Silvestri is a good Keeper at this level and Wood is a good striker at this level he just needs a good experienced championship striker to take the pressure of him to be that 20 goal striker or more which want to get out of him. striker. MOT!

11 Jun 2016 12:05:30
i agreew with stan silvesitri is best shot stopper in league, he may cost us points but he wins more than he loses. Wood is great ta this level, last year he wasnt fit, he was new and he wasnt played right and he still finished top scorer. he will get around 20 goals this year mark my words. as for sloth I don't get the banging on about him. we have had over 100 managers under mc and none have rated him to play him, something there can not be right.

Notts White I see were your coming from with saying the side is not very different to the side that finished 13th but IMO we weren't far away Last season to have a side that could of finished in the playoffs. We just massively underperformed and with players added ( And by the way Notts they wouldn't just be Average Championship striker or centre half They would good experienced championship players and the striker would have a proven track record. He would be a player like Hooper. Also I would keep Doukara.

How can woods be a footballer in any team
U r all I don't know. Er. Insane
And Dallas. Maybe Silvestri if we get to penalties
Really. I just don't see your logic. Any of you
Can you really put wood against any main striker in last 10 years and have him win
Useless. Dallas. Useless. Silv. Useless.

Stan, what I would like to see and what will probably happen will be quite different but assuming we keep Cook and Taylor:
1. New keeper
2. Berardi
3. Taylor
4. New centre back
5. Cooper/ New centre back
6. Dave
7. Botaka/ Dallas
8. Cook
9. Wood
10. New attacking mid
11. New winger with pace

I would add probably 2 new attacker. Therefore a minimum of 7 players.
