Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

How about we make a real statement in January and sign a really influential midfielder ( I know he's released a sky story swearing loyalty, but...)

Why doesn't Simon Grayson put in a loan move for Frank Lampard. (1) He said he wants to play regular football, which we can guarantee. (2) If he's going to bench warm at Chelsea he wont get in the England Squad. (3) He's getting old and he's not got many football years left and he's already a millionaire so now at 33 he is just going to want to play football (4) He would really drive us on and could be our next Gordon Strachan (5) Bates could get a good deal as he still has ownership of some of Chelsea's property so they have to keep on good terms with him (They want his Penthouse so they can move stadium or expand the current one but he won't sell)

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Realistically, if Lampard was to leave Chelsea i think there would be a massive queue of Prem clubs who would take him on. Also playing in the championship doesn't get an England place anyway so argument falls down there. And millionaire or not, I would be willing to bet he wouldn't drop down from 100k+ a week to 15k max and very few championship can afford to pay that.

Agree3 Disagree0

Is this really a genuine suggestion. Why aren't clouds made of chocolate, why don't women jump all over you like in the Lynx adverts?

Agree7 Disagree0

Although Bates looks like Santa, he aint bringing us Lampard for xmas!

MOT

Agree7 Disagree0

Lampard was a leeds target once upon a blue moon, i think o leary offered 8 or 9 million but chelsea bought him for 12 mil if im right....oh and to the guy who said why don't women jump all over you like in the Lynx adverts? you made my day haha cheers :D

Agree5 Disagree0

This is the best thread for a while on here. Does anyone actually believe an exceptional footballer like Lampard would be interested in playing second division football? Maybe this was the guy that said sack Grayson and bring in Ancellotti - still makes me laugh...

As for the past, I believe West Ham asked for 10 million, the word was that O'Leary really wanted him but Ridsdale said it was too much and, further down the line, bought the midfield legend that was Seth Johnson for 7 million instead. As for Lampard - I can't think of any player who hasn't come through a youth system that has ever been better value for money for a club than Lampard has been for Chelsea. We really missed out there.

Personally Leeds should try to buy Alex McCarthy from Reading in January.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Pointless task right now. Man bang in form. They won't sell. Not for a sensible price anyway and we all know about Ken's budget. Time to grab him is when we got a bit of leverage like being in the Premiership. We should try get him in the summer.

Agree3 Disagree0

You buy him then!

my team would be (if all are there)
451
GK) lonergan
RB) Connolly
CB) Less
CB) kisnorbo
LB) White
RM) Snodgrass
CM) Clayton
LM) McCormack
RAM) Somma
LAM) Howson
ST) Becchio
BENCH
McCarthy,Keogh,Sam,Pugh,Nunez

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Somma is an out an out striker so wouldn't work. Connolly has Done ok but is average so I would like a new RB. As much as I like Kisnorbo, he was at fault for the goal and the pen against Watford and I feel he may only be good as cover. I agree with others and lets hope new signings will be here at the start of Jan, not transfer deadline day!

MOT

Agree1 Disagree1

Far too many strikers in that team for 1 up front. Can't put square pegs in round holes. Personally, i'd like to see varynen and nunez given a start whilst we have injuries, or maybe pugh holding.

Agree2 Disagree0

With that formation the centre of the park would be exploited more than kerry katonas bank account

Agree3 Disagree0

Somma can play right winger and AM aswell but he is best as a striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought Somma was still some way off returning yet, has only just started light running.

Agree0 Disagree0

I said the team become somma can help becchio upfront and it is just the players
who are at the club Like to see somma back good player

Agree0 Disagree0

Somma is no right winger, are you mad? he does one thing and one thing only. score goals.

no timescale on Howson injury. because he doesn't have a clue. again. like every other injured player for the last 3 years. we need a new Physio team if anything.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Or maybe because with the window coming up the club don't want everyone to know that we are in the market for a CM? Have a think before slagging the club off eh?

Agree2 Disagree1

Oh you on your break from your physiotherapy business? Do you understand the problems of diagnosing a recovery period for any injury, never mind one in the knee area, the most stabilised joint in the human body, and the one that bears the greatest strain... You do?

Agree1 Disagree0

No i don't. and clearly the clubs physios have limited knowledge also.

Agree1 Disagree1

And how is coming out and saying our captain is sidelined indefinitely going to benefit our chances in the transfer window? take your own advice mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its all about mind games for the other clubs. They plan who they think will start for us and come up with a formation to beat us. Everyone knows when Howson is fit he plays. Also its bad morale for a player if you say a month out that turns out to be 2 month. So stop bickering with each other.

MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

Great replies to the OP who is clearly another person who has no idea and will never be satisfied regardless of what our club says or does. You must lead such a depressing life being so negative about something you claim to be passionate about, I dread to think what you must be like talking about something you don't like!

How's about being thankful that Howsons injury isn't going to keep him out for long, the fact that we're in the playoff zone at the moment and that we are not about to go bankrupt and disappear like we did not so long ago? In other words, try getting behind the club, the players and the management rather than doing your best to find anything possible to complain about....MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

The good news is Howson has not torn his cruciate ligament

Agree1 Disagree0

To the person who said "Oh you on your break from your physiotherapy business? Do you understand the problems of diagnosing a recovery period for any injury, never mind one in the knee area, the most stabilised joint in the human body, and the one that bears the greatest strain... You do?"

you obviously have no concept of human anatomy. if you did , you would know that the knee is the least stable joint in the human body and thats why it is suspectable to sports injuries. the tibial plateau and the femoral condyles have poor bony congruency and therefore the knee relies on soft tissue such as meniscus cartilage and ligaments to give it some stability. It is fairly easy to diagnose the structures involeved but as you rightly said the recovery time for knee trauma can be between a matter of 4/6 weeks to 9/12 months depending on severity AL

No doubt I'll be accused of wearing rose-tinted glasses but I do like to try & focus on the positives rather than some of the doom & gloom merchants we get here.

The statistics from the Watford game (taken from their web site) show the following (Watford figures first):

Possession 50/50
Shots on Target 4/2
Off Target 3/7
Corners 3/5
Fouls 13/11
Yellow Cards 1/0

OK we played below par based on recent performances BUT we had more shots & corners which makes me feel we were more forward focussed i.e. more pro-active in looking for the result - as SG says NOT giving up.

They committed more fouls - we were out pacing them when in possession.

So, with my rose tints off, what does this mean? We had a bad day but still were good enough to keep in the game & promotion race.

C'mon loiners lets all be positive & start believing.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

There is a guy who likes posting on here who is pretty much obsessed with accusing everyone of wearing roses tinted glasses. It's his fav phrase!

Agree2 Disagree1

He should av gone to spec savers.

Agree3 Disagree1

Ive ordered a pair of rose tinted glasses for xmas but yes agree you can spot the regular mailers by their paraphrasing -

Agree0 Disagree1

You never get anywhere just looking at positives, i think that is sg's problem, the negatives in our team are that obvious 99% of fans can see them. we are 1 or 2 cbs lite along with a decent rb and a holding midfielder as brown is rather aged. i also look at positives but the only way to improve is to work on the negatives!!

Agree4 Disagree1

Pretty sure SG knows where the problems are too - especially given the position he played in his playing days. I expect he's just as frustrated as us. Shopping in the loan/free market isn't that easy.

Agree1 Disagree2

You gotta accentuate the positive, deliberate the negative, latch on to the affirmative and dont mess with SG in between haha.

Agree1 Disagree2

What you need is a degree in astro physics then everything will come clear!

You just need to slip on the 'RTG's' ( Rose tinted glasses) and let the relaxation wash over you.

team against royals

451

lonergan, connelly(needs replacing in jan, 3-white(deal with kebes pace) lees, kis, snoddy, varynyen, clayton, sam, nunez, becchio.#

pugh,brown,mac,keogh,m. taylor suibs

Believable5 Unbelievable2

McCormack for Nunez, he needs to forge a partnership with Luciano.

Agree2 Disagree1

Everyone going on about big mac, i agree great start but nunez also started brightly and does well when he comes on, he wants to play and prove his worth, i dont think he is given a good enough chance.

Agree2 Disagree0

Pugh on the bench? He's our most versatile player and one of the most consistent.

Agree0 Disagree1

Same could be said for Forssel, hasnt been given a run.

SG to take a stand, do the difficult thing and drop Paddy for the Reading game? He got destroyed on Saturday.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

I agree, but Grayson can be dropped also!

Agree0 Disagree5

And who are going to replace Grayson with? Since I rubbished the usual fantasy list on here I haven't seen a single realistic suggestion.

The rules are - must have 2 x promotions, 1 x play offs, top 7 in first season in championship in first 6 years of management, be affordable under KB's financial structure, be prepared to work with no transfer funds, not whine when good players are sold and funds not put back into team, want to manage Leeds.

Bet you can't name a single person who fits the bill...

If you can - I suggest you buy the club, put your manager in place and then we'll all see how clever you really are.

In the meantime, maybe you'd like to consider being a real supporter, or at least do us all a favour and f*ck off and support Man City or some other club with cash to buy trophies...

Agree4 Disagree0

Billy Davies?

Agree0 Disagree3

Billy Davies had massive busts up with derby and forest boards about budget. Other than that i think he is actually a good manager who gets teams playing football. Having said that though, i'm happy with how grayson is doing to be fair!

Agree1 Disagree0

To the above, I suggested Billy Davies. I like you support SG and don't want to seem him go anywhere. However, I was just throwing him out there as the most viable alternative I could think of. I agree that he is lively when it comes to debating budgets with his boards. He is also very annoying and refers to himself in the third person as 'Billy Davies' as if he is talking about someone else!! Drives me nuts. Good championship manager though.

Agree1 Disagree1

Billy 'job done' Davies - no thanks. Lets stick with Grayson. lets see what he does in January when hopefully Papa Smurf will loosen the purse strings.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm the one who posted the vitriolic reply stating 'the rules'. Davies is the only realistic suggestion I've ever seen on the list but there is no way he'd last a year with Ken Bates. Davies has walked out on two better funded jobs than the ER job and whilst I think he's a good manager we need someone like Grayson who's in it for the long haul. I reckon the only reason Grayson's still here is because he's a Leeds man through and through. Most managers of his calibre would have gone somewhere with money to spend.

in the YEP macarthy has come out and said he wants to stay with us, kb should show some ambition and buy him whatever the cost because keepers can win you points just as much as outfield players and his record for me since he has been here and his performances have been very impressive!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Apart from maybe a couple of slip ups in the Barnsley games he's been very impressive. But I can't help but thinking what I imagine will be around a million pounds for him might go better somewhere else in the team?

Agree3 Disagree1

I would love to buy McCarthy as he's so young yet already so gifted, however, we have an excellent keeper in Lonners and an able back up in Taylor, if we spent £1million on him, would this not be better spent on a centre back/Lichaj?

My suggestion for reading on saturday.
agree or disagree.

play 451 with

connelly odea lees pugh
snodgrass brown clayton white
nunez
becchio

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Chuck a goalie in there and id go with that

Agree6 Disagree0

I think we should go without a keeper vs Reading, see how it works out.

Agree2 Disagree0

We tried that against Blackpool ........ it didn't work

Ha ha, I guess paul Chewbaka doesn't count.

Jw all the people who think grayson should go who should we get that uncle ken could afford I think he's doing well there's better tactically but he's a good motivator and has a lot more passion and staying power than some of the fair weather Leeds fan on here

Believable2 Unbelievable4

There are so many fans that like having a go at other Leeds fans. What makes you think your any better than the next Leeds fan? AND before you answer just think what you sound like to all those Leeds fans who love their club and because of that dare to have an opinion that may differ to yours!

Agree5 Disagree1

Just because some of us leeds fans who logisticaly cant make it to many games ,doesnt mean we arent intitled to an opinion" leeds and proud londonderry n.ireland MOT

Agree5 Disagree0

Thing is, if you don't watch the games regularly, in full, then you don't really know what's going on. I don't really watch telly. As a fairly dedicated (hobbyist) musician I have an opinion on the X Factor but since I don't actually watch it then I'd accept it was a prejudiced opinion of no real validity. It's great that you're supporting LUFC from across the sea but it does mean your opinion is, inevitably, limited by restricted knowledge. {Ed003's Note - Do you realise how obnoxious you have just come across as ? }
