Why not sign Samuel Yeboah, Tony's nephew. 25 year old striker. Has won the league and been top scorer in Ghana and Israel. Makes sense.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Hed be like Kasper, not brilliant and playing off the family name

Agree3 Disagree1

'Cos we've other areas that need strengthening first?

And i think i could be top scorer in Isreal to be honest

You know what- I get the impression every Leeds game is either a lucky win or an unlucky loss(baring the odd one)
We had luck with sendings off in last few games however brIghton beat us with last gasp goal. Birmingham were up against it for first half where we could have gone in 3 up but they score on all of their attempts. Think back to Ipswich away where we dominated for 80 mins but lost. Blackpool where our keeper kept throwing the ball into our net.
Then there was the red cards against Boro which stunk!personal problems with players past and present including our ex managers love life! It's been a decidedly odd season

If its not Warnock then get ya money on McCarthy 3 games bates gave Readfern that's how many games Micks got left after that and recent performances, am Leeds through and through but have a lot of Wolves fans as mates, would be great kick up ass team needs, Super Leeds

How about Zambia's coach for next manager? Done brilliantly with a team of unknown players and a hard taskmaster - was screaming at his striker for being caught offside in the 120th minute! Herve Renard

Where did it all go wrong? Simple, when England did not get the World Cup bid!
Had we got it, Elland Road would have been redeveloped and attracted massive investment, Bates would have had his ('Psycho') motel/hotel plus casinos etc. The club would have gained massively from a financial respect giving it appropriate funds to actually better the team. As a going concern it would have been worth a huge amount and Bates would have sold making himself mega-money!
Now of course, his plans in tatters, he has become a Dickensian curmudgeon character who will invest in nothing to benefit the club! He desperately needs to have a visit from Marley's Ghost before LUFC are left hanging like the last turkey in the shop!

have watched leeds over 50 years from standing on the kop scratching shed to many years as a season ticket holder-cant recall ever being so depressed-the club is a complete mess-at the barnsley away game ive never seen leeds players give so littlle effort.revie wilkinson etc would be mortified.most depressing-no light at the end of the tunnel-at least while the monaco conman is around.

Neither clayton or delph got anywhere near the front 2 on saturday,i couldn't see us scoring to be honest and if we were going to it was gonna be from a set piece, from being a team that always had goals in it we seem to be struggling to create chances at the moment...Bates said in the programme he refused Grayson a midfield player(strange seen as we sold Howson)stating that we already have 9 midfielders!well god help us if villa call delph back as that would leave us with brown and clayton till the end of the season...very worrying,I thought Redfearn left it too late with his subs and that can sometimes be a problem when you are friends with a lot of the players you don't want to upset them by bringing any of them off, thats why we need to appoint a new manager asap

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Great post agree entirely

Agree2 Disagree0

I've been a fan of Clayton this season but to be honest his form has dipped badly over the last couple of months (probably since he lost Howson alongside him). He can be seen ball watching for both of the Brighton goals, first one in particular. I'd hoped Delph would be the answer (short term at least), but it doesn't seem to be happening.

Bates is supposed to be a businessman and yes Ridsdale was an person but there has to be a happy mix or medium. Therefore if you want to increase turnover to afford the things that we need more than anything which is good quality players you have to speculate to accumulate. Buy in new players increase the crowd.......simple. Beginning of January we had 12 home games left til end of season, we could easily achieve 10,000 extra in the crowd if supporters thought we were serious about mounting an attack on promotion. 10,000 x average £25 = £250,000 x 12 games = £3m additional income..... Achieve promotion = £70m if we don't go up we will lose more crown jewels in Snoddy mcormack bechio and the rest of players sick of lack of ambition that he won't replace back to third division so Bates are you a businessman with balls or just a rip off merchant ........think we all know the answer

What do you think the final table will be?

My guess:

West Ham- CHAMPIONS
Birmingham- RUNNERS UP
Southampton
Cardiff
Middlesbrough
Blackpool- PLAY OFF FINAL WINNERS
Hull
Reading
Brighton
Leicester
Leeds- 11TH
Burnley
Palace
Watford
Derby
Ipswich
Peterborough
Millwall
Forest
Donnie
Portsmouth- RELEGATED
Coventry- RELEGATED
Bristol- RELEGATED

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I only care about one club and I think you've pitched Leeds about right?

Agree3 Disagree0

Think you're right there Pal. At the beginning of the season I had 4 of the teams you have listed there in the top 6, the 5th being Leicester instead on Boro and us being the 6th instead of Southampton.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Donny stay up, we'll go up

Agree1 Disagree2

Leicester will probably be a lot closer to play offs but who cares our season is over

Does anybody agree that the evidence suggests that the Bates dictatorship is finally comes to an end? It seems to me that the evidence would suggest he is asset stripping by pocketing the money from player sales without any re-investment and transforming elland road into a more premiership facilitated ground in preparation to sell to the highest bidder? Does anybody have any more information on the earlier rumour regarding buyout by Chris Miller MD of Leeds Commercial vehicle hire. I guess it all depends on what price Bates has slapped on the complete package, probably some ludicrously over-inflated price no doubt. It will take somebody with balls of steel to lock business horns with the old dodgy b*****d!

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Exactly my thoughts. Went into the shop yesterday couldn't believe the discounts on non shirt goods: looks like he's improving the cash on the balance sheet prior to sale. Effectively he's tarting up the books! Let's seriously hope Bates is going to sell . The Leeds brand is massive: just needs someone to INVEST and see it take off!

Agree4 Disagree0

Chris who! as he got hundreds of millions, if not keep bates as longer term we need someone with lots of money to invest. we are one of the few clubs that make money building slowly is better for the longer ride. i want success but not at the risk of going bust again MOT

Agree4 Disagree2

Miller is a leeds lad through and through and used to play for our youths before a horrific career-ending injury following a horror tackle. He would never betray us like bates

Seems mr bates has made another mistake in sacking Grayson. Redfearn will probably get job till the end of the season because the board will base the decision on the results we get, our next 2 games are against Coventry and Doncaster. Personally I would have given Grayson till the end of the season and if we don't make play offs, sack him. I reckon he would have done a better job than redfearn, worrying times at LUFC in my opinion

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Grayson created his own downfall, he created one of the worse defences ever seen at Elland Road, I think we would have still lost yesterday had he been in charge.

after watching leeds yesterday its obvious that redfern is not the answer he should of made changes long before they scored and there was no point getting rid of grayson if hes not going to be replaced by an experienced manager half the names that have been touted are a complete joke we need warnock in to steady the ship this season and with a bit of money take us up next year

Believable4 Unbelievable1

We lost by an injury time goal. that's just bad luck. stop over reacting.

Agree3 Disagree4

Oh that's ok then thought we just played for 90mins

Agree3 Disagree0

We were average at best, they weren't much better and we never looked like winning the game, hardly an over reaction considering we are the home team!

Agree3 Disagree0

We lost by an injury time goal, bad luck! Did you not watch the game? Both teams were poor, but we weren't unlucky pal. We were as consistant as we have been all season

Agree3 Disagree0

That game yesterday [Brighton] clearly told me what i have thought for a while, our players are Simply not good enough or up to it, the biggest part of them are SG's signings, we have at most a hand full of quality players at best, come next season we will be in a relegation battle due to the quality we loose in the summer, and nothing coming back in.......MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2012 13:06:30
An experienced manager needs to be installed ASAP.,This season is beyond repair, we need someone in to prepare for next season ,someone who can access the squad ,get rid of the inadequate players and install suitable ones..Redfearn is not the man for the job.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

An experienced manager like Terry Venables or Peter Reid? I don't mean to be rude but personally I don't think that just having experience is the answer. I'm not bothered if the new man has never managed before, or if he is relatively still young in management as long as he is the right man for the club. Lets just not as fans start to get on whoever the new managers is back when he is appointed just because he is not seen as a 'Prestige' or 'big' name.

Agree1 Disagree1

So we get in someone that has never managed before, I don't think so not with this squad, someone is needed to get the deadwood out and the right players in ready for next season, someone with good knowledge of this division and knows the right players to get in , this will only come with experience , a novice with this squad would be up the creek without a paddle.

Agree2 Disagree1

I agree totally - we cannot asfford to gamble with Redfearn - we need someone who can grasp the nettle and leaving that to the end of the season means that whoever takes over wonn't have seen enough of the deadwood to make decisions regarding the huge CULL that is required in order to prepare for next season.

Agree3 Disagree0

I think there is a middle ground between Refearn and someone nearing on getting a bus pass to be honest. Knowing this league is a myth, some teams get promoted playing passing football, some teams play ugly battling dogged football, some teams fill the squad with experience looking for once last hurrah, some teams fill it with youth looking to make a name, some managers like warnock or mccarthy have been around for ages and some are relativetively young like rodgers and Lambert. There is no click your fingers do it this way and guarentee. Personally i think completely fresh eyes are needed from whoever we appoint. Redfearn to me so far has not done enough to change from the way the last regime played, I think any set of new eyes will see something in the squad players and in the team to move us forward, whether that is someone of vast experience or little is of no regard. I think ruling some names out for not having vast experience is wrong if they are the best man for the job. Without dwelling on it again, Venables and Reid came to leeds with all the experience in the world and failed. I'm not saying experience won't work just that there is no guarentee in football at all.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2012 13:06:24
1-2 down with 3-4 mins left so lets bring on an attacking midfielder in Nunez. Good move until you realise that NR is taking off McCormack our most dangerous player! You need an equalising goal with little time left; take off a defender not your most potent striker! NR the way forward? I don't think so!
You might also want to ask why some of the teams in our 'illustrious' Academy at one point had only 7 footballs between them and why players had to buy their own winter thermal gear!
There's something rotten in the state of LUFC!

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Your forgetting that Grayson did this on numerous occasions when chasing a game

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2012 12:55:20
People banging on about Grayson haters and moaners about loosing at home to teams that are in form, the plain facts are that we are in the hands of an old demented Leeds Utd hater KB, he's sitting there loving every minute of pulling the club apart whilst he is the only person that is going to get anything out of it. People say he saved us yes because he saw a great potential to buy Leeds kick the guts out of it and leave with a very well stocked bank account, he isn't worried about Leeds Utd it's a meal ticket for him a toy to mess around with, the man will leave one day but not until he has had is fun at watching us squirm.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

There's something criminal in what you suggest! I for one would welcome athorough auditing/investigation into how the club is being run!! A police one if needed

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2012 12:30:00
If we are honest Redfearn is not the man, is he? He is not what w envisaged as the next step, the great white hope, to take us forward? We didn't want to get rid of SG so we could have Redfearn, did we? Sad but true.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I think Redfearn knows he is not the man, you would have thought if he really had a chance of the job he would be at least trying to make his own mark on the team. This is not happening! i think because he has been told he is just keeping the seat warm!

12 Feb 2012 07:32:59
If Leeds got promoted this year, we would need to heavily invest in the first team.
The only players I would want to keep at the club from what I have seen would be
1 Andy lonergan
2 Tom Lees
3 Danny Pugh
4 Charlie Taylor
5 Robert snodgrass
6 Adam Clayton
7 luciano Becchio
8 Ross Mccormack
9 davide somma
Possibly Nunez, rogers and varynen as I ain't sen much of them so i won't judge them.

Everyone else I would get rid of.
If white signs a contract then I would jeep him too as he has potential. But personally apart from pace and ability to beat his man I can't see anything else in his locker, he can't Mark, tackle, head or shoot, cross or pass.bit like walcott LOL

If we went up, I'd bring in etherington, Adam smith, delph, lichaj, alan smith, Robbie KEANE, woodgate, Ben haim, higginbotthom, kilgallon.
That wud give us a squad of 20 or 21 and wud easily keep us afloat and wud not cost much more than 10m to bring all them in.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

IF Leeds get promoted. Dont see it myself we have too much catching up to do and with the team playing the way they are it ain't gonna happen. (So go out there and prove me wrong !!) MOT

No need to speculate fella, we aint getting promoted with this squad no matter who we get as manager.

It is no coincidence thats Leeds home record is worse than the away record.
Fortress Elland Road? Don t make me laugh. If I were an opposing manager coming here, the team talk is easy,... 'just keep patient, at some time the fans will start getting on the players/managers/chairmens back.... they re a very young team and so will be tense and scared to make mistakes.'
Easy, job done....3 points.
Maybe some of our fans need to take a long hard look at themselves. If we re not careful we ll become part of the problem, not the solution. Teams usually get better results at home because they have the backing of their supporters cheering them on.
It s hard on Redders... if we d have comeback from 1-0 down to win 2-1 with a last minute goal, he d be thought of as an inspired coach. Brnging on Nunez and Townsend and looking for the win was actually a brave move. He could have put on 3 defenders and settled for a draw....., so I personally respect him for having a go. It s not naivety, hopefully going for a win is his style of management and I for one am happy with that.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Bates out chants avnt been all season so whats the excuse for when they wasnt slaggin him off we just after except the team isnt good enough

Agree1 Disagree2

Are you kidding, nunez was brought on in the ninetieth minute.

Agree3 Disagree0

A brave move the substitutions what game were u at
redfern stood on the touch line like a lost dog not knowning what too do ! he brought nunez on after there goal on 90 minutes and he brought townsend on at 80 minutes giving lads a ten minute run out is not brave he has not got a clue
he did not know what to do the game was crying out for a change after 55/60 minutes the midfeild were playing far to deep u could see that from graveleys fish shop ! redfern is not the man graysons team graysons tactics probably graysons tracksuit so nothing has changed

Agree3 Disagree0

The fans can see what's going on ,far too many players just picking up a wage and not giving a toss ,Refearn said so him self during his interview, well these players need transfer listing now,do you think warnock would put up with it ? no !

I have also been a Leeds fan for 47 years now, I have never known such a load of bs coming out of elland rd, Leeds need a manager in now to build a squad for next season redfern is not the answer, if we were flying and had time for redfern to gain the experience needed to run a club like Leeds I would say great but we do not have that luxury. Bates knows if we get promoted it will cost in back dated debt and the only way his plan will work is to stay were we are for the rest of this season, you all know at heart that this is true it's been well documented, as much as redfern is a good guy he is not experienced enough to build a team for a big push next year, we do not have time to mess around waiting for redfern to learn his trade, bring in a manager now that can plan for the coming season and make refern his number two, still a big bonus for redfern and he will learn a lot quicker than he will from trying to do it on his own. All of you that say give him till the end of the season know in your heart of hearts that if you had your choice it would not be redfern.

I have been a Leeds fan for 37 years i read all comments on this rumours site.I would like to say i am more down now about my beloved club than i have ever been, even when there was a real chance we could go out of business forever. Then at least we all hoped of an investor to come in and save the club. What did we get Bates. The biggest problem is in his time at the club he has not appointed a experienced manager who knows the lower divisions. We have had wise/poyet,mccalister and grayson all young and inexperienced and probably cheap because of that fact. What has happened again we now are giving Redfearn ago what a joke.Threre are several managers available at the moment who know the championship inside out.Warnock,Davies and Jones are at least three.Yet we are giving Redfearn ago why because he is the cheap option. Now is the time for Bates to come clean about the future invest in a good experienced manager, invest in a good squad and keep our best young players or invest in a hotel WHAT WILL IT BE.

Gwyn Williams is very pro readers -probably because he can control him
The interesting fact is that despite all the hype Ken has interviewed ZERO candidates and intends to interview ZERO candidates
Bar 3 losses readers has the job
I hope Neil is good enough - but it doesn't detract from the fact that Ken lies regularly
We won't sell players without replacing them with better quality- LIE!
We need to get rid of simon Grayson to bring in a manager who can do more with the players If this is readers why wasn't he in the Job sooner - it's just another LIE

I love Leeds and will support redders in the job but I am sick of being lied to and treated like an idiot
