there are only 3 strikers with a lower minute per goal return than Lasogga at present. maybe he is a bit better than we thought?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2018 15:11:40
Think with Lasogga he's a bit lazy and doesn't look to do owt in some matxhes but he knows how to shoot and if given a chance he will with the right attacking service he will score goals.

Yep that's the problem over the last few seasons by previous coaches or managers or whatever you want to call them the obsession for one up front that's why I keep banging on about why no one gets hammered at ER Clarke without Jones, Jones without Clarke it would never happen.

Lowest crowd of season expected this weekend against Bristol no surprise there our home form been abysmal again in front of our biggest average for years, Brentford is an A game as well club shooting themselves in foot for a mid table clash can see crowds back to low 20 thousands with no atmosphere.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

12 Feb 2018 11:25:01
If PH has any balls then the Bristol line up should be interesting. Logic says that certain (Roofe, Alioski, O'Kane) players should be rested while other (Roberts, Ekuban, U23s) players are given a run.

At first I thought Leeds were doing the honorable thing by sticking to there word and leaving Ideguchi with Leonesa but the more I read of his lack of game time the more I think, what's the point. If he is not playing because he doesn't communicate in Spanish then bring him here. He is not going to be fluent enough in the next few months and after May he will only need it for weekends in Magalluf. Whatever the reason then the obvious move is bring him here anyway. If he is not going to get meaningful gametime then he is better off immersing himself in the PH culture, bonding and attending language school. Let him pal up with Samu and Adam. Become the three musketeers, on and off the pitch.

12 Feb 2018 18:28:25
Yes but if he's not playing then who exactly is benefitting?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2018 18:38:26
Based on that let's take it he's struggling to impress them enough to warrant more game time, I wouldn't be expecting too much for 500k tbh, although he would have to be poor to be any worse than o'Kane.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2018 10:44:11
Cultural leonesa struggling at bottom of Spanish league 2 and ideguchi struggling to make an impact. can't wait to get him on board next season. I see the 4-4-2 posts are back again. Altho it would be good to get back to basics our best players are hernandez and Saiz. I can't see how they would fit in to a 4-4-2.

Too many cooks leo. No room to play both playmakers simultaneously. Again, remember this is the Championship. It's about reaching a level of steel and creativity. Too much creativity not enough steel costs dearly. Proof is TC stats, red cards, early goals conceded, late goals conceded. Classic signs of imbalance. Also, try think of who we miss? That should give you a clue. It's Bartley, Wood and few years back Clayton. They could play and mix it up.

Agree7 Disagree0

12 Feb 2018 17:40:02
If Ideguchi is struggling to get in a team near the foot of the table in the Spanish 2nd tier, what makes you so certain he will be a success for us? .

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2018 18:32:18
Yes wouldn't it be good to have a ball playing tiger ala Billy, Johnny. Until then I still think you can play two creative players in the same team. The it's harder to man mark two than one and you can always protect them with a "minder".

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2018 10:43:49
We are overly endowed with defenders for next year with Ayling, Berardi, Coyle, Pontus, Struijk, Pennington, O'Connor, Shaugnessy, DeBock, Dallas, Denton, Similarily for midfield with Ideguchi, Hernandez, Saiz, Forshaw, Viera. Upfront there is a choice of Roberts, Ekuban, Lassoga, Grot (Dallas) . All that, I know, is assuming some loans made perm but it also ignores the blossoming of many U23s and a couple who are out on loan. So if we do recruit, even more so it should be be one or maybe two, Quality buys only. It will be interesting after the summer break who he thinks his first team is.

Couldnt agree more, were stocked up now, should be looking to seel waste rather than buy waste to replace it. no point getting a new face in to replace someone if he's no better. Also i believe this mbakogu deal is done now, interesting that its clearly not christiansens choice as they've still gone through with the deal despite hecky being in, wonder if that highlights the power orta has?

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2018 12:55:46
The recruitment as to be done in midfield Phillips and O'kane need to be moved on there not good enough I'd keep Vieira for now only because he's still young but needs dropping from first team squad he needs to learn how to pass to his own team mates.

Agree7 Disagree1

12 Feb 2018 18:36:59
Gelderd, if O'Kane/Philips are dropped we still have Ideguchi, Shaugnessy, Forshaw and I also think Dallas could do a job MF left next year along with Viera. Fronted by Hernandez and Saiz.

12 Feb 2018 10:33:38
And so all of a sudden, it appears we have a few strikers available again. Can see hecky using a 442. Think the whole 433 thing was a temporary and to try and expose sheffield uniteds CB's more than anything as they always seem to bomb on up the pitch. The idea of a 442 is pleasing, so long as the right players are deployed. For next week i think a 442 would best suit: wied (been better with distribution recently) Anita, Jansson, Pennington, (thought pennington was solid and very composed on saturday, works well with PJ) De bock (had a poor game saturday but overall i think he's adequate and definitely good enough as a squad player, think bera would be arguably favoured at LB though. RM dallas, again another that impressed me out of position at the weekend and i think he's finally getting his deserved place in the team. CM Forshaw and Vieira, Forshaw again a great performance, proving to be the best buy of the lot in jan, and vieira i think with his combative style could do a job here. Hernandez coming from the left for obvious reason, a real threat and class on saturday, shame we haven't got the same player from when he was 26 as he could have easily been the difference. Your top two, lasogga, again proving his worth with a good fo a header as I've seen from a leeds player all year, maybe dallas' better against sunderland. and Ekuban to work his socks off again. i'm not sure on the situation with roberts, but think he could be benched for this one, and hopefully a late sub for ekuban. Also want to see roofe benched as he certainly does not deserve his place. That tackle on their defender which he was booked for proves he's 1, lazy and uninterested, and 2, ill-disciplined and not committed enough. Needless bookings. PH was right to take him off for pablo as he wasnt up for it 'injured' and booked. Alioski the same, we are praising a winger for getting back and sometimes winning the ball or a cheap free kick. A winger should be threatening, awful to defend against, like adomah has been this year for villa. think the last good alioski performance was boro at home, and since he's been lucky to be in the team. PH will again make a lot of changes for bristol in my opinion and so he should. Ekuban, Lasogga, Dallas, Forshaw, Hernandez, all deserve a start.

This time last season I've checked we are 10 points worse off. we have scored exact same amount of goals and conceded 7 more. So considering we let green, bartley, taylor and wood go that isn't really that bad. And considering we have lost most of our games recently because we missing half a first team through suspensions and injuries perhaps there is some hope.

Roofe is poor. I thought one of his assets was pace. He hasn't anything like what is needed in the championship. Always regarded Vierra as a very good prospect. He can't pass yet but it is hoped that will improve. Unfortunately the rest of his game has slumped recently - it should recover. Alioski has been good but lightweight and very poor. Maybe he misses Saiz. Phillips has an all round game that is average at best in the championship. He is reckless and can be hindrance on occasions. Hernandez has class but is inconsistent. I like Forshaw in the midfield. O'Kane is OK but he makes too many mistakes in and around our penalty area. Dallas is not great but is a decent all rounder. Good squad player. Jansson is good. De Bok? I hope he is still settling in. Was found wanting a few times in his first few games. Ayling and Beradi are fine when they manage to play. Cooper is average at best Goal Keepers? We could do better. Lasogga is a class finisher but needs service. Taylor hasn't played but he's a stiker who couldn't get into an Albion side that can't score goals and was at Walsall. Hope he can step up better than Roofe, Bottom line. We need a keeper, at least one decent winger, centre half and a strong creative midfielder and maybe a striker for starters. Hope Orta can sort it!

For me 2 loan players leave, bring in a CH like Bartley, def mid field,2 wingers with Roberts Ekuban and Roofe up top one more striker, the u23 's will start feeding through . Would let PH see if he can improve Cibiki Gomez Grot and Sakho if not ship them out with these new faces added we would have the makings of a starting 11 with some reasonable depth to the squad . Think by investing in 5 decent players it would totally transform the whole team and with the added benefit of the investment in the U23's to hopefully come good .

12 Feb 2018 01:33:05
Based on a previous post Yeah for me I'd only really keep Ayling Berardi Janson Coyle Viera Foreshaw Dallas Saiz Hernandez Phillips (he has his heart in club and I think will become better) We have literally no worthy strikers in squad for next season. Lassoga is ok but obviously only on loan.
