Anyone seen Grot's brace for the ones for the future? Well taken, confidence boosting strikes and watch him in a season or two. Could be a player.

got all the stats to be a good player and looks impressive, I am hopeful he will come good and be quite the handful with the class to match

Two well taken goals Lucas. The boy will come good in time!

12 Mar 2018 20:26:58
See heckys gone public on what he said to under performing players after the game in the dressing room. I don't agree with airing that sort of stuff it's bad for morale. Steve evens used to do it. What's said in there should stay in there. Good way of deflecting attention away from himself I guess

Believable8 Unbelievable8

13 Mar 2018 09:12:22
Agree with all but the last sentence Martyn! The players have underperformed too frequently this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 10:29:44
Yes bright the players have and would probably admit it but would hecky?

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Mar 2018 10:30:34
Don't see a problem with it if it gets a reaction from the players.

Agree1 Disagree2

13 Mar 2018 11:54:39
Would you like it at work AL if your boss told everyone what he'd said in a private meeting? And told everyone he'd bollocked you? You wouldn't find it humiliating? Wonder what he'd do if a player told everyone what they said back to him? Couldn't disaplin them as he's only a coach not a mabager

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 11:55:51
And what if the reaction is that their heads drop even further?

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 12:37:44
I get the impression that you don't like Heckingbottom, Martyn

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 13:05:16
I support Leeds notts but I've never liked heckingbottom from when he was a player to a manager but I still want Leeds to win regardless but I think we will struggle as this clubs chewed up and spat out bigger names than him

Agree4 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 13:29:16
They're not underperforming though. They're playing to their ability. Has Wiedwald ever been a goalkeeper? Has Liam Cooper ever played like the ghost of Beckenbauer? Has Okane ever even scored a goal for our club? The only underperformer as far as I can tell is RV.

Agree4 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 14:16:48
Please share Martyn, what has he done (or not done) for you to have such a low opinion of him. As George has alluded to Guardiola could not get a tune out of our shower of s****

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 15:48:34
So Hecky and Steve Evans have both done it? Both good and successful managers so I am behind it. They are not his players and if not doing it for it I think call them out. Mourino also does it a lot and it has not been too bad for him either

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Mar 2018 16:51:11
Both good and successful managers? Berm it's his second club and the one he left looks doomed as would we be if he'd been here long enough

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 17:12:14
Come on Martyn give us some insight, why do you hate Hecky so much ?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 18:58:00
Because I never heard him have a good thing to say about us. Intact even as a player he came across as hating us with a passion but now our money pays his mortgauge. Think the word I'm looking for is hypocrite. even Barnsley fans say he's a phoney

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2018 15:53:57
Interesting read on Victor Orta and his time at Middlesbrough in there Gazette and how he interfered seem to have more power than anyone else to make decisions and caused unrest within the club and its fans, looks like Boro on the up again and getting there act together now he's gone from there.

Ideguchi would get more experience being loaned out to Ossett Albion.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

12 Mar 2018 16:56:19
It's a strange one because at 21 you should really be playing in the first team if your any good and be more or less established, only exception is the keepers at 21 there still very young for that position.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Suso never made the breakthrough until last year at the age of 23 and he is now Milan's best player. This is why English football fails, is this lack of patience with youngsters.}

12 Mar 2018 16:56:30
He'd see more game time being loaned out to Leeds City.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Mar 2018 19:05:27
Totally agree there Ed1.there's a lack of patience these days with developing players, and then a "perform or be destroyed" attitude from many. That said tho, how can the lad be going to the World Cup if he's not getting game time, and just as importantly, why is he not getting game time? Buoy came back because he wasn't getting minutes, so I really think we should be bringing this lad back too.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I just wonder how he is meant to learn English when he is sent to Spain?}

12 Mar 2018 20:30:57
Yep! Agree again Ed. it's one of the most ludicrous plans of the regime to date! Get him to the teppanyaki by Mister Craig's, and learn the lad some Leedsish!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ah good point, he has probably got a better chance of learning English in Spain than in Leeds...}

12 Mar 2018 20:41:39
They speak English perfectly on Merseyside, don't they Ed001?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - god no. That's why no one ever understands a word I say.}

12 Mar 2018 21:31:07
That's because they spit when they try and talk😜

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Mar 2018 15:50:17
I agree with Ed my only worry is his age to the level we are playig at. Kane took a while at spurs and suso at milan but they are class. At our level should a player be able to do the job in order to move onto better things if good enough, like Lewis cook and Charlie Taylor for example? I am worried this fella was a publicity stunt more than a serious player

I see the NRA have negotiated gun rights for Greek football games. Unfortunately its only for owners. Imagine if all supporters were granted the same rights, It would make VAR unnecessary for a start.

If it is true and Ortas family are receiving threats then all I can do, on behalf of all sane supporters, is apologise. I myself do not know the man and may well stand him a pint if I ever met him. My criticism is of his professional judgement as a supporter of many years. With the caveat that I am on the outside and do not know the machinations at Elland Road. In fact I most fervently hope that next year I am left with egg on my face as several of his "ones for the future" step forward and sweep us to the Prem. Can't see it myself but, that is the lot of a true supporter; living in hope.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2018 13:49:54
Really paying the price now for our lack of vision when it came to finding defensive cover. the loss of Ayling a massive blow but all season we have struggled at CB because we never bought a partner for Jansson. Injuries have compounded the problem a bit but really we have been too light in that position because we haven't got enough depth in the squad there.

Disappointing that we couldn't finish the job at the weekend but encouraging that it sounds like we are starting to improve in some areas, albeit against a poor Reading team. can't help but think we are just too small physically - haven't we got some quality in the youth ranks with physical presence that could help us change things around?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

12 Mar 2018 15:02:00
Midfield is where we are physically lightweight a couple of big guns in there with Forshaw but with talent Ayling been a big miss in defence need him right for start of next season.

12 Mar 2018 16:00:44
sarkic up top, is probably the answer for a physical presence

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2018 11:42:15
PLEASE, Phil Hay (or any other journo) PLEASE, ask Radz what is happening with Ideguchi. Right now he is on holiday in Spain, not kicking a ball, not learning English, not learning Heckys ways, not bonding. WHY? Somebody has to get an answer. The man might be rubbish but he's our rubbish. Let us find out. If he's not going to kick a ball let him not kick a ball in Leeds. I don't care if he doesn't play he needs to find his way around the Nightspots of the City. He needs to get his face known in the local and does he realise the waiting list for a council flat in Leeds these days.

HES 21 YEARS OLD. why isn't he at least in the 23's? makes absolutely no sense does it. completely agree leo if he's such a good talent and will be at the world cup he muct be worth a punt, surely, even if he can't speak english football is a game of intelligence and knowing where other players are going to be, playing around experienced players like hernandez and forshaw will surely help him? makes no sense imo

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Mar 2018 15:03:58
He certainly won't be in any fit state to shine for Japan with no game time behind him. I just wish some journo with access would ask the obvious question.

12 Mar 2018 07:48:03
Not sure what most of you would think to this but hear me out. BPF gets the number 1 kit, unnanounced in summer, suggests were not looking to sign another keeper. lonergan goes, and we do sign a backup. Wied gets axed completely, and sold early on in january back to a german club. Pontus stays, ayling is back fit, and becomes captain, we sign another foregin CB who compliments jansson, and berardi remains at LB with pearce the next best option. Pearce begins to play more towards the back end of the season, and becomes a regular. forshaw is partnered with a revitalised klich next year, phillips stays, okane moves on to a new club, ideguchi and vieira come back in to fight for spots. hernandez signs another deal with huge bonuses if we go up, and makes it his last year playing, and then stays as coaching staff for a year before leaving to go back to his sunny villa in spain. saiz is sold for between 9 and 12 million, and we use it to sign bradley dack, and oztumer. two players potentially good enough to replace him under hecky. alioski stays on another year, and is a bit hit and miss, in and out of the team, relaced by dallas on occasion, and the right wing spot is never really cemented. Antonsson comes back from loan and stays, lasogga doesn't sign for us, he signs for a pl side like stoke. roberts comes back and is fit. grot continues with 23's up top with sarkic, who both get their chance later in the season. ekuban is sold to another championship side. cibicki, sacko, roofe, de bock, all go. Is that too unrealistic or could anybody else see us playing with either antonsson or roberts next year. two players i think could be good, but will they be enough? they're certainly not a gayle, or a murray, or a mitrovic, or a wood, but they both chip in with 10 goals a piece. as for league position, who knows depends who stays and who goes in the league. i'd like this team a lot more if BPF was in, ayling was captain, klich performed better, ideguchi was an option, antonsson performed, we saw tyler roberts, hernandez stayed, and saiz left.

Very good mystic meg. Are you Bradley decks agent by any chance?

Agree2 Disagree6

12 Mar 2018 08:44:16
All quite realistic if you ask me, only major changes are that saiz goes and we sign 2 new boys to replace him. Ayling becomes captain, not unlikely, and we sign a new CB, not unlikely.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Mar 2018 11:18:12
Agree with most of it Samo just a few tweaks. If we don't get a new keeper then I can see Lonergan as back up tp BPF. Personally I would try Forshaw as Capt. Nothing against Ayling but I always think that the Capt should be in the middle of the park. Bera (or U23) should be at RB with Pearce at LB. Saiz going for big money, who knows. but we must have at least one creative midfielder with a good touch. I suppse it's just not in the locker of that sort of player to track back and defend but if there is one out there let's grab him. The only way I would keep Alioski is if he; beefs up and stays vertical and goes at/past defenders with ease. Possibly all our surmising could be affected if some of these "ones for the future" grab their chance, Shaugnessy, O'Connor, Stevens Kun, Clarke etc. etc.

Keep BPF in the shirt, lads done well, 180 minutes and no wiedwald classics, no drops, looks confident kicking, mixes it up with dead balls, not afraid to run out at an attacker. First goal admittedly wasnt great to concede from a keepers point of view, second he couldn't have done much about, thought all in all though, at 1-0 down he kept us in it for large parts. It is proving so clear that we need a striker. Look at the top 4 teams, they all have 2 if not 3 if not 4 proven championship strikers. wolves, bonatini, afobe. cardiff, zohore, madine. Villa, kodjia, hogan. Derby, bent, nugent, weimann, vydra, jerome. Fulham, mitro, ayite, fonte. You get the point i'm making. We never truly replaced wood, barts or taylor, we've all said it. I think it'll be an interesting summer, let's hope orta is as good as selling rubbish players as he is at buying them.

All he is is a young lad showing a lot of promise. I just hope that when he has a bad game, and he will, everyone does not immediately crucify him. To a certain extent a good goalie is only as good as his defence and once that is sorted out whoever is in goal will start recording clean sheets.
