I agree, thing is with graham tho, I never forgave him for the way he treat yeboah. But graham did made Leeds rock solid at back. Molenaar,wetherall,radebe,Kelly,Worthington.....by heck they weren't bad pickings. I think burridge worked with the goalies, martyn and robbo ? David oleary was also a superb coach,

Just a thought: no matter how dire things get, Bates isn't going to fire Warnock cos it would be expensive: pay off his contract and his staff appointees' contracts, possibly compensation to present club for any new manager and more bodies on the payroll.

Plus he doesn't give a stuff how dire things get (though he should - it will end up hitting him in the pocket).

fatfreddyscat {Ed013's Note - Warnock is on a rolling contract so would go for pennies}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Ed - okay but general point would still stand. It would cost one way or the other and Bates doesn't do things that cost.

fatfreddyscat {Ed013's Note - Yes mate, everything costs but it seems Warnock has the backing of everyone behind the scenes so I cant see him being sacked. Although I did hear Peter Taylor's name mentioned if things are as bad after xmas}

Agree0 Disagree2

Getting rid of NW is not going to change the fact. Bates and his cronies are taking LUFC for a ride down the wrong end of the league. These people will have to spend some wonga to get the fans back onside.

Just listened to George Graham giving a master class on defending on the Monday Night Club on radio 5 Live. It was great. That man knows his onions. He was referring in particular to the increase in goals conceded in general in English football-both in the Prem and lower leagues. He made the point that even the Man UTDs and Man CIty have lost the art of defending. Basically it's not fashionable any more. Hence why English clubs are poor presently I'm Europe. Also the same point made by Danny Mills. Graham was saying we ahold employ a more specialist system- defensive coach, midfield coach, attack coach- all reporting to a head coach. Specialisation. I know the game is quicker and more entertaining than ever, but we don't want to see cheap goals. Defending is part of the game.

From a specifically Leeds point of view, how often do we keep a clean sheet, or even look like it?! We could do with a defensive coach and a more structured and specialised coaching set up. That seems favourable to me above a stream of "jobs for the boys" contacts of our recent manager. Booze hounds such as Mick Jones, Iain 'Dusty' Miller and Snodin hardly seem the type of coaches to make a difference. Just mates of the manager.

I know it's never likely to happen but how great would it be to have a hungry, technically minded young coach. One who can handle modern players and tactically aware. Supporting him someone like Graham, a specialist coach who knows the club. Anyway, could happen. Pigs might fly. The takeover might be completed!

I did the Championship score predictor (where you enter your predicted results into a system that then calculates and displays the table as a consequence of your predictions) up until the 20th game of the season, Uddersfield. I tried to be as realistic as possible, and showed no biased towards Leeds. If the results up until the 20th game reflected my predictions then Leeds would be lying in 19th place with 21 points and 5 points clear of the relegation zone. The Leeds scores I predicted were a 3-1 defeat to Millwall, 1-3 defeat to Palace, 1-2 defeat to Leicester, and a 2-2 draw at Huddersfield (do you think they are fair)??

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that this is what we will have to endure over the season unless drastic changes are applied to the team. If Warnock doesn't pick up a win in his next three games, I can't see him surviving. Lads, have a go on the predictor yourself and comment your outcome (if only takes a couple of minutes).

Believable6 Unbelievable1

I think Uddersfied will beat us with goals from Clayton and Beckford. I am a half glass full sort of guy so we might get a consolation from Becchio.

Interesting to see the comments on both pages and the ups and downs as far as supporters of Colin are concerned. I will still give him the benefit of the doubt but........ the real p*ss poor decision was putting on the two subs at the start of the second half. White, who was dire in the first 45 minutes, deserved to go and should have been the one sacrificed rather than Green who seemed more savvy in the back three than either of the other two. Was Diouf that injured? I don't think so. Colin ousted him for pace but to risk no injuries for 45 minutes when you didnt need to was a poor decision. one he may come to regret if we continye to struggle. Watford were there to be beaten and unlike the trashy redtops today with their opinion that they were the better team even before the sending off I thought we played some classy stuff at times. TeeCee

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Totally agree. If we lose next three games then I think his position will become untenable. He promised there would not be a repeat of the Forest games last season and here we are again with his team and his tactics. Cant keep blaming Bates and takeover saga, he has to take some responsiblity.

This player n that player gets talkd bout but no1 mentions a c/half.imo pearce was the bad buy this summer not cos hes a bad player cos we have a good young c/half-lees what we needed was a quality experienced c/half a leader a captain.nws qpr kept 24 c/sheets when they got promoted if we had kept a few more we'd av more pts higher in lge etc etc

Believable2 Unbelievable5

For me it went wrong when we signed Pearce and not Chambers

Agree with first two posters. Pearce has been a massive disappointment. Not commanding dominant enough decison making poor and lacks pace but apart from that he is great!

We need a current manager who inspires, plays great football and is exciting. I like warnock, I really do, he's witty and tells it like it is. However I can't help feeling that because he has been there done it and wore the tea shirt, that he has lost interest in football i.e. the team he has built. Is that what we want our manager to be like, not bothered about results with his heart no longer in it? He was so enthusiastic when he came to us, now he looks and sounds like a downtrodden man, a bit like Grayson at the end of his tenure. Here's hoping that he gets some money and his mojo back or else we are done for this season.

Neil Warnock .
Games played, 30
Games won, 8
Games drawn, 9
Games lost, 13.
Goals scored, 36
Goals against, 48.

Awful record.

Are Leeds playing good football ? No.
Has Warnock sorted out the defence the former manager was blighted for ? No.
Have Neil warnocks signings been better than graysons signings? Results prove otherwise.
Is Neil Warnock the man to take Leeds forward? His impending retirement would say otherwise, results would definately say otherwise.

Take off your rose tinted glasses Leeds fans, we need a change of management before we get relegated before Christmas.

Believable16 Unbelievable7

12 Nov 2012 20:40:08
I don't think we will be relegated by Christmas but what is clear is we are not heading in the right direction. We have our fair share of bad luck some would say if it was not for the bad luck we would not have any, BUT the record speaks for its self under NW we have gone backwards the results don't lie. I think we have better players in the team than last season BUT NW does not seem to be getting the best out of them. To say that he had lost interest in the game after the injury to Austin says it all, would Fergusson, Morrinio, Venger (get well soon Rudi) or the likes have said the same in similar circumstances (don't think so). On top of this he has opened his mouth over the Chelsea referee issues which had no consequence for LUFC and now De-matteo should not need much of a team talk at our cup meeting in December. It like the Woodgate, Boyer days all over again - Who ever the owners are come January there are some big decisions to make to prevent the football club we all love sliding backwards and realistically into Division 1

Agree4 Disagree1

Bad luck? What about the two penalties from fouls committed outside the box?

Nothing to do with bad. Rather more to do with bad management.

So here we are then. a new week and hallelujah! The takeover has finally happened like all you world wise sooth sayers said it would.........er........actually none of this has happened. What a load of old brown tooth paste that was.
Bates still in charge, looking to illicit his yankee mates' attention regarding a counter bid.

The only thing Bates will understand is a boycott. No solution which maintains Bates involvement in any capacity beyond a takeover will bode well for Leeds.
The man is a cancer at the heart of our club and must be eradicated.

Only game you're looking forward to. I'm expecting 12-1 as they are twice the team Watford are. Only thingI will be looking forward to is the final whistle, fed up of being embarrassed to be a Leeds fan no matter which manager we have in charge, still same end result.

Leeds fans have very very short memories. I remember in June/July Neil warnock saying he bought varney and co as squad players.

These purchases were never ment to be in the starting line up for as many games as they have been.

Bates out and a little investment is the only hope we have.

Amazed that grumbling about Jenny only just after that heavy defeat. He seems to have Velcro on his feet as he never leaves his line on crosses and even his shot saving shows suspect positional play - cannot understand why warnock rates him so highly .

Grayson got sacked because the chairman demanded promotion, and felt all his free transfer signings weren't good enough, they fell out when Bates wouldnt sanction a 200k defender when he'd just sold howson for couple of million....he then said he feels Warnock could get better out of the current crop of players (basically it was graysons coaching that meant we were seventh and not top )....Warnock came in and transfer listed every single player.Finished 15th. Ken Bates suprisingly backed Warnock in the transfer market and Warnock bought a whole new squad of players. Current league standing, 18th. Am I the only person in Leeds who feels Leeds are going down if we don't change the management ? Never mind chanting Bates out.....Bates had told us he's going, he's carefully trying to negotiate a sale. But Warnock is lauded by Leeds fans as our saviour? Seriously am I the only person who has sat and watched the worst football and results the club has seen in its history ?
Joe Jordan, Gus poyet, Owen Coyle, Gordon strachan all out of work. Curbishley/ redknapp if we dare to dream ? Radebe ? When you look at who is available, the sacking of Warnock doesn't look a bad thing.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

The problem here is that one of those mentioned would want the posioned chalice.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree, we look currently like a relegation team. We need to sign some quality players and even get a new manager.
I'd personally ask Lee Bowyer to sign till new year. If he doesn't want to stay after that fair enough (as his family is down south), but I think his range of accurate passing and creativity is something we lack in the middle and he would do a job until the transfer window opens again.
p.s. I'll take the job if Bates needs a new manager ;)

Agree1 Disagree2

To the OP - I don't think Gus Poyet is out of work mate. Also Jordan and Strachan have both been strongly linked with the Scotland national team job, among others too.

we need this takeover and fast, warnock has scavenged from the lowest points for our players, we are almost a cross of shef united and portsmouth, its ridiculous, a league 1 side playing in championship. if you ask me we are gonna need to spend quite a bit in january, if GFH have the dosh. shaun wright phillips, max gradel, faulin. a decent LB and put tom lees RB, also need this loan deal for jerome, GFH need to put their money where their mouth is!

Just a quick on for all of you jumping on NW's back........

Who ever knew about Austin before he came to Leeds?

Who ever knew how good Byram was or who he was before Warnock came?

Who ever thought El Hadji Diouf would be one of our best players this season let alone Leeds fans even liking him?

Nobody give Warnock some chance his records as a manager clearly shows he's got a bit about him, it can't be easy for him with the suspensions and injuries we've had this season, and we haven't had any money to buy a decent squad, also this takeover talk really won't be helping the team morale and the feel around the place........ Have some faith Leeds always come bouncing back, it's a sticky patch all teams have it! We'll be in and around where we want to be come May, just takes time! Leeds United forever!

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Austin is good, but he's no world beater.

Byram could turn out to be a one season wonder, time will tell. you don't become a good player playing in a poor team.

Diouf was a desperation signing, that happened to pay off for a while. but he's now likely to jump ship.

Warnock has lost it, we are in the same predicament we were when Forest put 7 past us 6 months back. half a year and no improvement is terrible management any way you look at it.

To top things off Lees gets an Under 21 call up. He wasn't fit enough to start on Saturday cos of an eye injury ??? Comes off the bench to replace an out of position player in an un-tried formation and goes on international duty. Neil, I am so baffled by your starting 11 at the weekend.

Rubbish manager think hes lost his marbles

Agree5 Disagree4

If we lose to Milwall that is it for Leeds. Even when Milwall playng well they look awful but then we don't know what we look like when we play well not a single good game all year. NW is only buying players he has managed and he still thinks they have it in them to play well. Rubbish. Tonge is decent granted but Peltier is awful and a poor captain. NW better get some prem standard players Jerome is a good player been linked with him. need defenders and tricky wingers now without this money Leeds will be fighting a relegation battle and probably losing thats how poor were playing.

I'm dreading the rest of this year. It is abundantly clear that most of the players we have are either crap or aged I. The wrong position. We have our best ayers out injured or on loan and only 3-4 decent to pick for a start. First time in my life this team has embarrassed me and I have a SJ k feeling that we are going to get pummeled every week.era pray whoever is in charge come loan or transfer window. Knows how to spend money wisely.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Supporters like you embarrass me, we lost heavily because we had 9 men on the pitch, these are the same players who went unbeaten for 7 games

Agree1 Disagree1

Have to agree with you, seventy five percent plus of the players NW brought in this season are "Rescue" players, rescued from football oblivion, or no longer required (age) by clubs who really should be in our shadows. maybe there are no loans coming in (the footballing family) know leeds are in truth in disarray, there seems to be no direction, aim, short of a personal financial one for KB. the T.O IF it ever comes off will NOT save this season (promotion) firstly we have to get enough points to avoid the drop, (I know there are many who will say, thereĀ“s time, 4 more good players, we will buy in january), smell the coffee folks look at the squad (at this minute in time) if it were another championship team, you would relish playing leeds right now, be honest. get the chelsea game out of the way, we need to concentrate on poits from every league game, become hard to beat. leeds fans do this best when backs are against the wall, fight, fight, fight together. M.O.T (BLOOD PRESSURE COMING DOWN NOW).

We are shocking at the moment. Watched us against the Owls and Brighton - terrible(unless you like the hoof it and chase method employed by NW). We need the takeover -fast, and we need a new manager to steer us into the Prem as this one is not going to do it (I know he's got previous, but never ever in 1 season). All you fans out their with blinkers and rose tinted glasses need to get a grip and stop lamenting on how wonderful NW is. Rick MOT

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Its starting to look like it could be another relegation for warnock rather than a promotion . hes never been a good manager really , its took him how many yrs to get this good , grayson 3 promotions in 5 seasons and looking to make it 4 .warnock 7 promotions in 30+ seasons and he has relegation as well

Gotta go Warnock and give a new manager funds

Believable13 Unbelievable9

This is my personal opinion.
Warnock does make some mistakes and maybe his tactical nouse isn't as sound as others.
I think with what he has had to put up with and with the budget he has had we should wait for some form of takever give to happen, give the money and then see how he gets on if they aren't still performing then we will see.
Loosing players like snoddy on transfer Mccormack on injury doesn't help.

Anyone know any definite news on the extent of Rudy's injury? I have read its a break and read it is not a break. Any official confirmation either way as yet and where does it say that?
PeteMOT

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Well if he has broke his leg in 2 places it wil be tibia & fibula that are broke .

Agree0 Disagree1

If it is the tibia & fibula then dont expect him back this season its at least 9 months and more like 18 months to get back to football so hope its not that

Agree0 Disagree2

They haven't said on the OS...even on the NHS an X-ray would have been done on Saturday and diagnosis would take a few minutes...IMO probably not a fracture due to this but I didn't see the onset or his ankle after so my guess is as good as anyone's at this point

Agree0 Disagree1

If he has broke his leg in 2 places he will not be out for 18 months. That's just ridiculous. It all depends on how bad the break is at worst he could be out for a year. That includes rehab and being back in training. A leg break takes 6-8 weeks to heal. The reason for being out longer is the rehabilitation.

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of people say its not a break but more likely he won't feature till next year I saw him go over and his ankle looked like in bent in half so maybe suffered bad muscle damage. Source- I was sat behind goal at the game and could see
