I've just seen that Redders has got Mowatt and Cook to stay at Thorpe Arch over the international break.

I think this represents exactly what redders is all about, having the confidence and respect of the players to tell them, and for them to listen, that they are not joining up with the international teams to benifit themselves.

The intelligence to be able to understand what these young lads need, and how they will develop them the best

And finally the respect of other coaches out there, even at international level, where there is none of this PR debate about players not playing for there countries etc, and the relationships between club managers and international coaches (Rodgers Hodgson)

It may only be Under 18's and Under 20's but even so. I think it is a well thought out decision, and full respect to redders for having the balls to pull them from the teams without injuries etc.

Top work Redders

I think if this comes in it will be an absolute tragedy:

The FA Cup third round Saturday on 3 January, widely regarded as the most romantic day in the football calendar, is set to have a raft of ties moved to Sunday or Monday in order to accommodate a full Premier League programme on New Year's Day. (Daily Mail)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well the premier league is the same anyway. Only 3/4 15:00 Saturday kickoffs these days and they are only games that the small sides play in. All the big clubs get to play on Sunday on TV thus earning more money. Shouldn't Southampton be on TV every Sunday instead of Man U, after all saints are 2nd and are the better team.

There's games on Saturday lunch time, tea time, Sunday lunch, Sunday afternoon and Monday night. All games should kick off at 3pm except for two games on a Sunday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree about southampton. Good luck to them! Deserve all the success they get.
It will be 5-10 years before we see the once mighty man u at the top again. They will now be like arsenal. Promise without the delivery.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well pleased for saints, does show new manager and lots of forgien players can gel without time if good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

I too have respect for Southampton. i'd pay for them to finish above Liverpool and Man Utd

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think you are going to have to pay em to finish above either Smitch

I don't understand Giles's latest rant about Cellino wrecking Leeds?

He seems to have been quite happy with Bates behaviour then?

And as for Cellino stopping the old Leeds players going to Elland Road, I thought it was just that he wasn't going to pay them for doing so any more? Why should he, to be honest?

Besides, when was the last time anyone actually saw Giles at Elland Road?

I may be out of order here and I do have respect for all the ex-players of that era (I remember watching them!) but fair do, what has Giles ever done for Leeds since he left almost 40 years ago?

Sorry, Giles, you made your money and name out of Leeds United, but you have no right to knock someone who is investing so much into our club to try and get it back up where it belongs, whether you agree with him or not.

Leeds4alongtime, I Agree with your point about Giles kicking off over managers being VERY VERY ODD!.
Surely he would have raised concerns about the GFH & Bates regimes if he is so concerned about Leeds United and the lost generations of fans.

Is this media mischief, or Johnny venting his spleen at Cellino shutting out Legends of bygone eras.

think Giles was badly done 2 when he left. he and billy applied for managers job chairman thought billy was captain and should hence take over , the DON thought Giles would be the better manager. we ended up with old big head.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree think giles needs to keep out of it, bad mouthing club and mc is not good even if he is correct which I do not think he is. also mention old big head still think losing him is the saddest day in leeds history imagine how good we would of been had he been allowed to stay the euro cup would definatly made its way back to ER.

Agree0 Disagree0

BW. Totally agree about Cloughie
He did come in like a bull in a china shop, but was only trying to stamp his authority. If he'd have been slightly more diplomatic, and stayed - god only knows what we would have achieved under him

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree about Cloughie BW, believe if he had been allowed to just get on with the job his way we would have far more trophies in the cabinet and often think we would not be in position we are in now.

Does anyone else wonder why Levi did`nt chase up this £150,000 unpaid debt from Bates, seems very underhand taking it out on the football club.

Hey ho, at least it`s sorted, just seems very unfair at how it was sorted.

Onwards and upwards, GFH out.

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Few things seem underhand but do not really understand it fully but certainly seems fishy and that leeds can be targeted in a way any othe club could not. cloughie made a few mistakes when joining the club in the way he went about things but his class is undenable, although he is no redders mot

BW
My memory isn't quite what it was. Just refresh my memory regarding the list of coaches/managers that you wanted us to go after- when you have an hour or two that is!
Not saying it will necessarily work out but the man with the job atm is the one who should have been offered it in the first place- but I'll forgive MC for not really knowing who was who when he first arrived

Agree0 Disagree0

I always believe that Clough joined Leeds a year too early. That team had one more crack at the European Cup and they weren't prepared to let anyone dismantle the team, least of all Clough.
If he'd joined the year after they would've all walked away quietly and Clough would've gone on to keep Leeds at the top.

Good point iPad

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing Cloughie did wrong was not bringing his side kick Taylor with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey speedy, I am pleased redders got job and think he deserves chance to prove he is good enough (i think he will do well) the managers I wanted at start of the season were (in rough order) Pulis, Steve Clarke, malky mackay, or someone with experience in getting team up even like curbishly I would not of fancied redders however in short stint he got us playing well and got us the results and think he will do again so well played mc for finally giving rdders the chance. Agree about taylor they seemed to work well together
