i was hoping that brian mcd would be able to tempt Alex mccarthy back to er permenntly. I thought we had a chance until the way he played 2day

Believable12 Unbelievable1

I only saw him at ellend road twice and I wondered why he was even on the pitch. I was also there when he played for Ipswich against us and he got sent off. Maybe he's done alright today but I can't see why anyone would want him back. Can't be that good if reading loaned him out to Ipswich last season.

Agree1 Disagree16

Id love to see him back he had a cracking game today!

The life or Brian - Part One.

I was unavoidably detained elsewhere today and didn't even find out the result till around 4-30pm, never been happier in the whole of this season, especially when I found out we went a goal down.

Like most of you, I think, I am happier about McDermott who has signed up for 3 years than I ever was about Warnock who was chasing his own glory.

Lets just step back a little, and give GFH a little room, as I don't see them putting a foot wrong so far in 'real' terms?

Okay they cancelled the fans forum and they are not the most vocal company ever? They have to try and appease the most expectant fan base in the country?

But do you seriously want a 'mouth' like Warnock that features on every thread of 'News Now' and spend the whole of the time talking himself up and the team down?

For once in the past nine years or so I am now looking forward to next season, and it is STILL mathematically possible to reach the playoffs.

But I seriously won't hold McDermott to account if we don't actually reach them?

Dare to dream now Warnock's gone, let's hope Bates follows suit.

So he is the messiah!

Agree4 Disagree1

No he isnt, he's a very naughty boy.

Agree5 Disagree1

No, he is just a very, very, naughty boy. lol!

Agree2 Disagree2

Watched Warnock on Sky this morning. He was speaking about his years as a football manager. It was Sheffied, QPR, and all that and he's affilliation to Leeds was very evident in so far as we didn't get a mention. Good Riddance!

Agree6 Disagree0

This calls for immediate discussion!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not with this naughty boy stuff. what's it about?

Agree0 Disagree2

"Not with this naughty boy stuff. what's it about?"

You need to watch the film 'The Life of Brian" to apreciate it, well worth the effort.

Agree1 Disagree1

Good post mate, When is part 2 available?

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The reference to Life of Brian really made me chuckle. top reply. Don't worry fella there's a lot of ignorant people on here and subtle humour is not greatly appreciated!

Agree0 Disagree0

What an intelligent response! don't like python lady

When we win in future we should sing from the kop " always look on the bright side of life " de dum de dum and hold a flipflop up! for our messiah! lol nickybee

SEE? that's what happens when we don't play hoof ball? well done lads and brian welcome to LUFC

ESSEX WHITE

Believable15 Unbelievable1

Good use of substitutes worked as well, something NW never got the hang of, beat Burnley on Tues and that should banish any fear of relegation, great timing bringing Mac in, think NW would have taken us down, just hope GFH back him in the transfer market.

Agree10 Disagree0

No, that's what happens when we don't play brown!

Agree3 Disagree3

Brown is better than tonge

Agree3 Disagree9

Thats what happens when we substitute our new barn door. morison is worse than paynter

Agree6 Disagree0

Browns our best player I wish they were all as good as him we would be above cardiff

Agree0 Disagree1

Who cares whos the best, we won, support and don't slag

Agree2 Disagree0

"Browns our best player I wish they were all as good as him we would be above cardiff"

So good that he can't even play for the next game either due to his own stupidity. Well at least that's two games we might win before he comes back and gets himself sent off again.

Agree1 Disagree1

Browns been sent off once this season, same as tom lees same as jason pearce. They a red car waitin to happen aswell?

Agree3 Disagree1

"Browns been sent off once this season, same as tom lees same as jason pearce. They a red car waitin to happen aswell?"

Probably not as they don't spend most of the game chasing the opposition in order just to try and kick them off the park.

i think its almost certain bristol city are going down this season and think we should put a bid in for adomah can't imagine him costing that much.

MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Just ask yourself why Bristol City are going down then?

Agree1 Disagree5

Personally I don't know much about Adomah but what a stupid response. Look who was playing for us when we went down from the premiership. Teams often go down with good players on their books. I despair.

Agree7 Disagree0

Ow so it's all adomah fault then is it?

Just a bit of banter, good bit of work from the owners by sacking warnock and getting in mac d. I think we could have been in real trouble had warnock stayed, I mean a serious relegation battle? Agree if you agree.

Believable25 Unbelievable5

How many times are you going to say Warnock was sacked?

He walked of his own accord!

Maybe he jumped before he was pushed but he WAS NOT sacked!

Agree3 Disagree10

Sounds like he was sacked judging by today's programme notes.

Agree4 Disagree1

Of course he left of his own accord, our owners had absolutely nothing to do with it, they said " stay Colin please, your doing such an amazing job"!?

Agree3 Disagree1

Who gives a f**k if he was sacked or walked, move on and support ffs

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Apr 2013 07:06:54
To the second poster - please read Warnock's own column in last weeks independant and you'll see he said Harvey & Patel were waiting for him in the tunnel after the Derby game. They told him it was time for a change. Ie They sacked him.

Agree5 Disagree0

Second poster, he was definitely sacked you are wrong and you should admit it because you are wrong. What you said was wrong as warnock was sacked, so there. {Ed013's Note - Warnock was sacked, but sacked or resigned lets not turn this into a playground argument. Everyone be United together and support the new man}

Great 3 points today. Good all round effort from the lads. And the main thing elland road just felt like elland road again for the first time in a long time. Mot.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

A full elland road would be so much better though come on guys is that so hard to ask let's fill the ground up and create a fantastic atmosphere for the last 2 home games

Agree5 Disagree0

Until Bates has gone the answer has to be yes, I am afraid.

Agree2 Disagree5

Yet another person making excuses its got nothing to do with bates be different if we were in prem all the fans would turn up then your ment to follow your team through thick and think

Agree11 Disagree1

Actually I HAVE supported Leeds through thick and thin for over 40 years mate! Untill Bates has gone though I'll just have to wait and be patient.

Agree2 Disagree8

Ok then you do that I for one love my club to much to stay away ill be there tuesday singing for the lads and brian

Thought Green was excellent today in his favoured central midfield position. Also I have to admit I am Austin's biggest critic but I thought he was really good today even when he went to the back. JD

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Rule number one?

Let players play in their own position?

If we can't cover a position that's a problem, but why move other players out of their position to accomodate it?

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Apr 2013 00:15:29
Austin was rubbish. Gave the ball away about 90% of the times he had it. Said it before and I'll say it again. No point being a great ball winner, and he is a great ball winner, if you're just going to give it straight back to the other team.

Agree5 Disagree6

Its a wonder anyone wants to play for us with persons like you slaughtering em even after winning

Agree3 Disagree2

Thts why I feel austin is best at center bk or deep mid, because he does break up play well, just not great at passing or shooting

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes, I'm sure all players make their decisions about who to play for based on an unofficial banter site. Get a grip. If you don't like banter, go away.

And just because we won it doesn't mean everyone played well. I stand by what I said, Austin gives the ball away a lot. If you don't agree I suggest you count his pass success rate on Tuesday.

Interestingly, here's thread about his international performances going back before he signed for us. It seems I'm not the only one who can actually count.

Now I might be very wrong here and I have been to only one game this season, due to distance and job commitments. I listened to the. game on 5live today and I have to say, the atmosphere after the equalizer was electric!I would just like to thank all the faithful who managed to get to e. r. today for rousing the boys and being the twelfth man!I'm quite optimistic for next season if b. m gets the backing he thinks. he will, and ill be honest don't think he will need as much money as other managers!playoffs next season would be great and a push for automatic the season after would be fantastic. I just hope for a decent solid season for a change!mot forever!

Great touch from McDermott going on to the pitch at the and and hugging all the players. JD

Believable14 Unbelievable0

Thought his tactical changes in switching varney and Austin and bringing on diouf were much better than the hug? But if you like a hug you like a hug! {Ed003's Note - can't beat a good cuddle}

I agree with the tactics mate but I'm a big softy and love a cuddle. JD

What a nice win against Wednesday to usher in the start of the McDermott era. Congratulations to Brian and Neil and all the playing staff. please keep it up and make all the Leeds fans worldwide proud. Another 4 points from 12 should see us safe and then we can build for next year.

Believable14 Unbelievable1

Were already safe unless we lose all of our games and then Blackburn win all theirs

Agree3 Disagree3

You'll have to use very sophisticate maths to bring us down now - even then almost impossible!

Agree1 Disagree2

F**k the four points, we could still get into the playoffs, mathematically?

Won't hold it against Mc Dermott if we don't though.

Dream high.

Agree2 Disagree2

Are you using a calculator, a slide rule or an abacus?

Even Wolves COULD overtake us?

Bristol City are the ONLY team that cannot possibly overtake us?

How does that have anything to do with Blackburn.

Get your facts right, or ask a three year old to teach you basic maths?

Hopefully we have a better chance of reaching the playoffs than we do of being relegated now we have a proper manager and not a 'colin'

Agree5 Disagree1

Get real. NO team has ever gone down over 52 points. One team on 52, one on 50, every other team in the last decade has been in the 40s. We are not going down.

Agree1 Disagree1

First time for everything. Reckon this season could break the 52 point record.

Agree2 Disagree0

Fact. We don't win many on a Tuesday nights. Fact. No first half goals in 17 games. I think I'll stick with my original 4 points from 12. If i'm wrong i'll be the first to hold my hands up and say it.

Spare a thought for Kevin Blackwell and Bury.

Believable9 Unbelievable10

As warnock said ' I will spare a thought after I stop laughing'

Agree4 Disagree1

"Spare a thought for Kevin Blackwell and Bury. "

You seriously think any of them care about us then?

Agree4 Disagree1

Kevin Blackwell & his family are all Leeds fans FACT so of course they care ffs! Kev was in an impossible situation with Bates and nearly succeeded but for some of our so called stars who bottled it big style in the play off final - probably because they knew they'd be out on their useless f'in ears if we'd won. Jimbo MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

Nothing wrong with a bit of humility.

Agree1 Disagree0

Whether other teams care about us or not is irrelevant; sometimes you have to be the bigger man. Do you honestly want fans of other teams to go through what we did? When you get a bit older and more mature you'll realise that the people you hate for supporting another team would be your brothers if they were from Leeds. Same as us in that they have passion for their team. #football love in

13 Apr 2013 14:03:54
very encouraging. Mcdermott set up the team the same way as Warnock to see where we were going wrong. made changes when needed and turned the game around. TACTICAL KNOWLEDGE

PPPHHHEEEEWWWWW wot a relief, I don't care if its new manager syndrome or what! that is a massive relief

Agree12 Disagree1

Who dve thought varney would av bin hero today, keep up the good work, MOT

Agree13 Disagree1

Well well well. Those players can win! well done team and mcd. From the text, looked like we actually held on under pressure. What a difference 24hrs makes. Its just one game but it is so nice going into a game believing we can win. I haven't done that for a while. And I know its only one game but how nice to have a tactically aware and astute manager. I am so bloody excited. Roll on next year!!

Agree5 Disagree0

Diouf made all the difference.
Yes - great substitution but I don't see why anybody couldn't see Diouf best position has been RM.
Why Warnock tried to play him as a forward later in the season to accomodate other players I don't know.
I would even play Diouf in CM with Austin so that Diouf can spread the ball more to the left as well.
Although if we get a decent young CM player with the ability to last 90 minutes then Diouf should continue on the RM.

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Apr 2013 15:48:14
Fantastic result, at last we have a manager who makes changes and can read the game, shows how one dimensional Warnock was, completely no idea. With financial support from the board maybe just maybe we are going the right direction and next year we can take the league by storm. Back the manager with some cash GFH. MOT

Agree6 Disagree0

Tuesday night another big game let's turn up in are numbers and sing our hearts out for the lads

If diouf was played at the end of each match or as a sub we wouldn't have conceded all the late goals, he kills off games as he did today

Welcome mr mcd
Youre the man trusted to return us to the prem and I've every confidence in you.
From now on let other teams see elland rd as a point if we play badly.
Let other teams think they need 3 goals cushion with a munute left to be sure of a win.
Let our midfield win tbe ball and head straight for opponents penalty area like strach, mccall and speed.
Return elland rd to a place not for the feint hearted.
Attack attack attack
I can feel the next few years are going to be great
Footballs coming home boys
Get behind mcd. he's the man!

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Sometime Ausman you talk b*******, but if you ever were at Elland Road when Strachan, McAllister, Speed (and Vinnie) were around you'll understand why that hits home.

I watched the home game against Hull City where Vinnie scored his only goal and things just erupted after that, we knew we were going up!

I had to sit in the car park for hours before I calmed down enough for the long drive home.

Not sure if my heart could take that sort of pressure these days, but what a happy way to go.

McDermott has been told he has a 3 year contract and he has full support from gfh including shiny coins to spend he has also said he wouldn't of taken any other club in Leeds position but because it's such a big club he said he couldn't refuse and McDermott was the only man Leeds approached for the job he also has a track record of getting cheap young players and selling them for a huge profit
