I'm happy with the start of the season and I'm confident we will be a tough side to beat. However I don't feel we will finish any higher than 6th to 10th. I'm not being negative just logical really, I think we struggle to create chances from midfield and like most people on here believe we need an out and out winger.

That said I'm happy with how GFH are running things and not trying to rush things too quickly. Also I'm loving the atmosphere at the moment, haven't been to a game this season yet but looking to start a few runs from down here in nottingham early september.

Next season is ours, let's just build slowly add 4-6 new faces throughout the year (and lose a few) and its silverware 2014/2015 :)

Maybe not a popular post given how well McD is doing overall, and given its early days but. Anyone share the view that whilst Hunt is no doubt a trier and brings a good influence and mentality to the Leeds camp, it was possibly unwise to ship out Morrison to bring him in? I personally think SM with a full pre- season and having had time to settle in would be a better option and a far greater goal threat than the boy Hunt. Just a thought.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Only saw Morrison play once; at Portman Road, last season (I live in Essex and can't get to too many games) from what I saw IMHO he couldn't hit a barn door from 6 yards out let alone a shot on target but, as I said IMHO and I don't get to see many games

Agree0 Disagree0

Morrison never looked like he wanted to be here, but I take your point about hunt.He does seem to be a hard worker, but we need goals first and foremost, don't think hunt will provide them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree to some extent. all we've done is saved a annual salary and replaced it with what to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring poleon into the starting lineup then drop noel hunt to the bench for the game this weekend see how that goes

Agree0 Disagree0

Hunt & Varney are real grafters. We might need goals but we also need players who will work for the team. You talk as if these two are incapable of scoring goals! GFH and Brian are building for the future. try get behind the team instead of constant negativity. try buying a ticket once in a while too! We don't need anymore strikers. We need a centre back.

Agree0 Disagree0

I recently spoke to a season ticket holder from norwich, we got on about ex leeds players, ie snoddy, howson ect, and morrison came up, I said that he never looking interested to me and he said he was the same at norwich and was pleased to get rid of him,

Just paying respect to my number 1 team leeds . m.o.t!. credit to gfh and brian. good start to the season . Unbeaten in 3 and also looking a lot stronger and more of a spirit than last season already. I think with the signings we have got afew have still got to blossom but with a couple more additions to the squad I think we are definetly in contention for the play-offs. MOT.

Every body is up beat and all "who d'you reckon we should bring in and when d'you think and didn't we do reasonably well considering?"

Answer: 2/3 damn good players better get in bloody pronto or we're stuffed for this season.

We were seconds away in first game from us only having only 2 points after two games right now. and that against a mediocre Brighton (Brighton FFS).

If you want "the probability of making the play offs" you had better be carrying a side that has a pretty good possibility at auto-promotion.

The weakness in the back and the lack of reliability in goal scoring up front -basics of football- have to be solved this month. or this is yet another "building season".

Sorry lads. Still not satisfied.

What are you talking about. Over the last few seasons brighton have been a very good side. Good attacking football and we took 3 points off them. Might not have been pretty but being pretty doesn't win you promotion. Hard graft and team work help along the way. I am satisfied with the start so far and long may it continue

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people never are! We all have pipe dreams but we are Leeds utd for God's sake, not some big money outfit and are doing what we can with the resources we have

Agree0 Disagree0

?"We are leeds not a big money outfit"?

Listen to yourself man.

We are Leeds. we want Europe and Premier League titles.

?"Brighton have been a very good side"?

Key words are "have been". all that Gus Poyet palava then this season, narrow loss to us followed by losses at home to Derby and the titans of Newport FFS County.

OooOOoooh. we're as good as Newport.

We are Leeds. but we won't be any good and up where we belong unless we demand better than this.

What happened to everyone promising to come back after Bates had gone? its a local derby yes well be on TV but we need the intimidating atmosphere we had against Brighton what's happened to all the positivity? its a piss poor effort at moment. For those who can't afford it fair enough I've only just come off the dole myself but wild horses wouldn't keep me away. we need a good support guys to help the team

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said mate its about time we all started to march on together again ill be there again saturday and will try and get to has many games as possible this season the team and brian need are support

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we are badly lacking in width and creativity in the final third of the pitch. Until this is rectified I think playoff football is a distant possibility. But defensively big improvement first two games and Brian getting the best out of what he has.

I know a centre back and a couple of wingers are seen as priority, but with people saying we need an out and out goal scorer, what's peoples thoughts on an odemwingie loan? Training with the reserves and doesn't feature in clarkes plans and could cause real problems in this league. Obviously the deadwood need to move on first. what's your thoughts?

Charlie brown

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Made a right fool of himself last season with the proposed transfer deal but I think you're right he would cause a lot of problems to the championship defences but yet again wages would be the clincher unless somebody could cut a deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid, he's going to find a club who can offer more wages. he's not an out and out goal scorer and he's unreliable. no thanks. can think of a lot better if we were 2 offer silly wages that's 4 sure

When Diouf returns from injury would he be likely to play the creative midfielder role and Ross push further forward? Or would they rotate with Diouf being an impact player? I was thinking if we could get Sharp, a front three of Diouf, Ross and Sharp could be deadly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And what about varney hunt smith poleon? just waste away in reserves whilst paying their wages? good idea

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 16:34:15
Well have Diouf in the reserves 'wasting his wages?' someone has to be on the bench mate, why not have your best 11? Sell Varney and bring in sharp.

Agree0 Disagree0

No 1 will push smith out, smith and mccormack with diouf as the cam is our best option. sharp is not needed.

Who do you guys think our next signing will be I think we need an experienced center back to go along side lees or Pearce and experienced one with a bit of quality, Pearce and lees, I like them there always committed they stock there face in front of the ball and stuff but we need someone who plays a bit of football what do you guys think and who.

Del Boy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sol Bamba or wes Morgan would be good I know they ain't that creative on the ball but they can sure defend well or the defender from Swindon with the long name.

What's people's thoughts on poleon for varney in starting line up?

Poleon gives me the feel he's always going to do somthing when he's on the ball. Varney makes me hope something happens when he's on the ball.

Plus I think varney will be better when the opposition is more tired!
What's your thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I trust in McDermott's judgment, it's worked fine in the 3 games so far.

Marching on Together, were going to see you win na na na na na na na, we are so proud, we shout it out loud, we love you LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good chant, where did you think up that one?

Keep thinking we need a new striker. But what if the following were to happen. McCormack, Hunt, and Varney 10-12 goals each. Smith and Poleon 7 goals each. that's possibly 50 league goals with the 5 forwards we have. McCormack playing a deeper role so that is why I havnt said 20 plus for him, but with a glut of penalties who knows! All of the above is not beyond the realms of possibility. So instead of a striker let's get a top quality centre back and maybe even 2 of them. MOT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can't see Hunt or Varney getting 10-12 goals, here's my estimates:
McCormack 12, Hunt 7, Varney 8, Smith 5, Poleon 10, Murphy 6, Austin 4, Green 4, Lees 2, Byram 1, White 1. 60 goals for the season, would that be enough?

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney and Hunt will not get 10-12 goals each. Maybe combined. Ross 10ish maybe as he is in a deeper role. Poleon and Smith are still unproved so unsure, but don't expect too much from these two just yet at this level, as it will take time for them to get used to playing at this level.

Agree0 Disagree0

Byram will get a lot more than 1 goal I can assure you of that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Matt smith will get 12-15 easy. ross 15-18. hunt 3-5. varney 5-8 poleon 7-10 diouf 7-10 byram 3-5. austin 7-10 murphy 7-10 green 3-5. white 1-3. brown 1-3 norris 1-3. lees 5-7. pearce 2-4. warnock 1-2.

He doesn't get much credit but I thought pearce played well v leicester, he tried to push the defence when too deep and did a lot of talking on the pitch. Well done rudi too, he looked fit and probably our best player on the day, I for one have been on his case in the past. If we win on saturday were top! For a while anyway. MOT, Vinny. PS, well done BM and GFH for not selling one of our best players for terrible money. Oh yeah and poleon should replace hunt on saturday, no brainer for me.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed re Pearce. Showed great leadership at the back, and Rudi was awesome tracking back too!

Juanmi from Malaga, Spanish under 19 international surplus to requirements at la roselada, not a goal machine but a creative type player and wouldn't cost much! If Ross goes then got to go for billy sharp
