I know a win tomorrow won't make us mathematically safe from relegation but Wigan & Blackpool are so far behind us there is only one relegation place to worry about.
Does anyone else think that if we win tomorrow then we can relax a bit & give the fringe players like Adryan, Montenegro, Dawson etc to see if they are good enough for next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't care who scores, as long as we win. Wooton hat-trick, Sol Bamba brace. Who cares would take an own goal victory tomorrow. We can't afford to experiment until we are safe. Unless someone cannot be ignored and deserves their chance.

2=0 comon mighty whites

Danum
I agree with what you are saying, but even a win tomorrow will not make us safe. But yes, if and when we are, give the players who are likely to feature more next season more of a chance

that will only happen in last couple of games safety comes first 16games and we need 10 wins

Agree0 Disagree0

Love to get 10 wins from the last 16 but we won't need 65 points to stay up. Donny finished 3rd bottom last season on 44 points! The average 3rd bottom in last 10 seasons is 46 points & the most points to go down in that time is 54.

Hey lads
Given the chance
Who would
Start next season with reddders?
Or
Use close season to find a better. More experienced. More tactically aware. More willing to change. More used to winning coach for us??
Just wondering? Unbiased!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As long as we finish mid table I can't see Cellino not giving Redfern the chance of a full season in charge to prove wether he can get us up.
Also Cellino likes do do stuff on the cheap so a better more experienced coach would cost too much. We know he takes chances with coaches. I think he keeps hoping he can unearth a diamond & then just dumps them if they're no good & move on to the next one.

what ever happens they need to bring in there own players not mc picking them as that will not improve us and will other players sign for nr??

Agree0 Disagree0

Redfearn will be sacked come end of the season. If we get top 10 then he won't but overall, he's been very poor and Cook has kept his job safe as the fans adore the youth players

Well I am baffled. We must be the only fans who are ok with their main striker not scoring any goals as long as he is doing a job for the team. Baffled as to what job it is, defensive attacker? All forwards get back and help out at corners free kicks etc. Keeps harrying their defenders, forwards do this on a weekly basis. My point is that Morrison needs to start scoring, no goals for Leeds in two years is laughable. We rely on midfield to score goals, what happens when Murphy is injured or suspended, or Byram who will score. When we get to the back end of the season and teams battling for playoffs realise they only need to stop our midfield runners what do we do. Yes its working at the moment but don't think other clubs won't pick up on it. Any striker needs to contribute by scoring goals. Our defenders have more goals than Morrison. I really hope he goes on a spree and scores a hat trick every week but can't see it happening. My point is he has two or three chances every game and needs to start putting them away. mot

Agree0 Disagree0

I sympathise wish your statement but I would take Morison not to score this season if Leeds win 2 0 every game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly micky!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that strikers need to score but who would you play instead of Morison in the current system (already asked Ausman this). Changing the system will be difficult as our midfield seemingly can't play as a 4 (too weak). If you can't play with 2 strikers then you struggle to accommodate Sharpe and Antenucci. Suggesting that Sharpe or Antenucci could play up front on their own would not work as they can't do that role. Morison is not the long term answer and probably should be sold in the summer but the squad here and now does not have a replacement to play the lone striker in the current formation.

I am not saying that Morrison is the long term answer to our problem as he clearly isn't. And yes I'd love it if he scored more than he has done, but for me he's doing a job for the team at this moment in time. First of all we need results & we are getting them by being harder to beat and I believe (with Redders) that Morrison is part of a team that is working hard for the cause. Bairdy wasn't prolific but he did a job for us & is still a cult hero 25 years later! I like Sharpe and Lucy but they can't all play & they can't play the role of lone striker. Sorry for banging on but hope Morrison scores 2 tmoz in a 4-0 victory!

mmmm some interesting odds for tomorrow's game re first scorer.
One bookmaker (who shall be nameless, but it has 3 identical numbers in it's name), has Zan Benedicic at the same price to score the first goal as Lewis Cook and Caspar Sloth. Maybe they have inside info that he's miraculously recovered from his injury, has been flown back from Italy, has been secretly training with the squad to get match fit and Redders has been so impressed with him that he just can't resist starting with him tomorrow, and managed to keep that to himself during is pre-match press conference.
Great news if that's all true. On the other hand. maybe they are just clueless

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Morison for 1st goal and 2-0 win, what's the odds.

There ought to be performance related or goal related pay bonuses.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh that's just great, let's criticise the lad for saying that.

He has been a RB for the majority of his career and Scoring was probably the last thing on his mind. And if you look at where he got his goal last week, he was a yard out from the oppo post. A location not very familiar with a RB, especially during open play.

With him being pushed up on the wing his mentality has to change, so I would think it only prudent for the manager to guide and advise him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably means he encouraged him to get forward int scoring positions and have a go, sounds like good man management to me. Setting a target and having confidence in him to get it is probably ggod for Byrams self confidence.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blinking heck upup

The coach gave an encouraging chat to a (young) player, getting used to a new position. It helped. He scored. We won. AWAY!. Do you want a pint of his blood as well, or maybe a midnight sacrifice?

Reddders reckons morrisons going to break his duck saturday
Sweet. Prolific. So far 0 in 6. We will never keep hold of him come summer!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ausman, I suspect your comments are tongue in cheek and I agree that a striker is measured on goals however in this current formation Morison is doing a job for the team. Having an attacker who defends from the front and harries defenders allows us to get a foothold in games that we previously struggled to do. Agree that in a promotion chasing team Morison would need to be more productive in front of goal however he is the best we have to play the lone striker role in the 4-5-1 (or 4-2-3-1) at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

good as for duck he might eat one

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate. Team of 11. All have their jobs!
Call me old fashioned
Play with 3 strikers. Then they can share
Play with 2 strikers. They can help each other
Play with 1. He needs to be bloody good goal a game striker
So what if we have won a few games
Purely because reddders stumbled across a winning team and now is too scared or inexperienced to improve or change it.
I'm happy with form and points. But
All is not roses in the garden!
And finally
I like Morrison. He has toiled for his turn. He has worked hard once he got his turn. But. But
Not a striker and we need one for when midfield stop winning games for us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ausman, I did not say all is roses in the garden and I agree that Redfearn has stumbled across this formation after trying (and failing) with the poxy diamond. However, with the current formation who would you play up front? Changing to 2 up front did not work i.e. against Brentford because our midfield is not strong enough to play with 4 in it. Horses for courses at the moment. Easy to criticise.

Agree0 Disagree0

We haven't got a top drawer striker but I would rotate em all and see who scores! Give Morrison 55 min to score and tell him he is off and 5th in line for a recall. Make them all sweat for their pay!
I would sell or get rid of every one. Poss exception. Ant.
