Stats say we pulverised them again.
Lots of chance to win easy.
What was game really like?
Back on top lads. Love it.
Bit concerned about Bamfords drought though!

We did dominate, Biesla moaned about our finishing after, but other than Bamford’s weaj Header and roofes One onnkne I don’t remember anything else clear cut, Bamford was a bit of a disappointment if I am honest, being realistic he’s going to need games, Pontus, Cooper and Phillips did well, keeping those 3 together could be the key to us going up, Harrison looked fit and lively, Klich was good for an hour and pressed really well before tiring, would have been nice to see Brown for 10 mins, and had rooofe scored to make it 3-0 with 10 to go we probably would have, it’s going to be whoever holds there nerve now, could even come down to goal difference! .

Aus, a great night where we played some wonderful football but the fans are still hanging onto their seats and praying for the whistle. It should have been 4 goals for us at least. Harrison put in a good shift, as did Aluoski and KP and Pontus wonderful. I think the game summed up the season so good in lots of the game but still hanging on at the end. Wonderful second goal, great quick movement from Aylingto Alioski to Harrison. But the three points combined with The Norwich result is amazing.

Just to put the mockers on things, we could be in third place on Sturday, but if the football gods finally give us a smile for a change, we could still be top.

Expect us to be in 3rd place come Sunday, but promotion is still in our hands which many would not of thought this time of the season would be the case. This 10 day break should be a blessing and should allow some of our walking wounded to get better.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2019 08:43:06
Thought we looked far better with Bamford on the pitch . There was one moment when Alioski looked up, edge of the box and seemed shocked that he had the option of playing the ball to a centre forward who was really showing for it . He got a great ovation when coming off, which always says a lot and he did loads of good work. Once he settles in to the team, he could be the real deal.

14 Feb 2019 09:12:02
Never really worried at all, until their penalty. The game just proved the efficacy of scoring first. We dominated Swansea and Kiko was a spectator for most part. Standout performances from Pontus and Kalvin. Good to see (a slightly rusty) Bamford get a game. Only disappointment is not seeing Brown for a few minutes but I guess the pen stopped that move.

Wex Hardly by far. Canaries can play, the Blades have a Sharp edge to them and Brom have some very good players but manager still learning. Rest of teams in the mix much of muchness. We'll be a serious threat to teams once B&B start serving up some treats.

13 Feb 2019 22:22:20
Great result, but did we need it! Hate to criticize any player but Tyler Roberts doesn't fill me with confidence, gives the ball away too cheaply and could have cost us today!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 Feb 2019 23:24:55

For George, this is a SEASON DEFINING fixture with our current poor results, lack of goals and failed James transfer. No motivational team talk needed. You want to go up? Beat them! If we win, there's really no reason why we can't hold on to 2nd spot come end of season. Draw or worse it's the playoffs for sure. Time to score goals!

If we can pick up 10 wins or 30 points it means the teams below us have to win 11 or 12 of their last 15 games. Do not know if that is possible. Think it will go to the wire, have we enough in the tank,9 wins and a couple of draws might be enough? Think we can do it.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

13 Feb 2019 17:38:09

why does everyone keep posting these 'we need x number of points from x games so i think if we draw 7 and win the rest blah blah blah'posts? i don't really see the point just wait and see instead of driving yourselves crazy with all possible connotations between now and the end of the season.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 18:13:18
We have been up near the top of the league for a large part of the season. Some of our performances of late have not been great but despite this we have dug out some results. Can we finish the job . We can beat every team is this league on our day. Can we put in 10 winning performances in the next 15 games or Wins 9 Draws 3 Losses 3, this is achievable. This means the teams below us have to win eleven or twelve of their remaining fixtures to get 89 or 90 points. Their win ratio is about 50% with 25% draws and 25% losses . Eight wins four draws and only three losses would give anyone of them 28 points added to their current totals of between of 53 and 54 points. This would put them anywhere between 81 and 82 points. So any of these teams have to perform better than this if they are to get above 88 points. They would need 10 wins 4 draws and only 1 loss to the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 19:00:45
Agree Alf, can only play one game at a time and the Brum result last night shows anyone can beat anyone in this league. All the points need to be earnt and predicting is foolish.

13 Feb 2019 15:39:46
We need bam bam and Roofe and Pablo on form if we’re going to do that. Don’t think we will spank them, but will grind out a win, which is essential tonight. Clean sheet would be a bonus. I’m on 2-0. Twitchy ring time for the next few months, as unpleasant as it is!

Gonna be a bit of a roller coaster from here in.
I think top 6 places will change up and down regularly and the team that are consistent and hold there nerve will prevail.
At present Bristol are the in form team and poss Norwich. The rest are prone to dropping points. Let's hope it's our turn for a run!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

13 Feb 2019 11:41:34
I am looking at the teams below us dropping points as you say they all do. Not too concerned about Norwich as i am happy to be in top two with them. If SU finish in in top three i will eat Georges shorts. Bristol bang in form at right time and i think teams from 5 to 9 have it all to play for so will . be some interesting results.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 12:05:49
Really, the only team we need to worry about is ourself! We have shown enough so far this year despite the challenges to show we have the ability to play good football and fight until the end for results. If we can keep that fight going and improve our conversion ratio, we don’t need to worry about anyone else.

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 12:31:07
Just read a piece which said that judging by form over the last 7 matches, Swansea are 7th, whilst we are 19th. We should place too much faith in our league position tonight. I keep reading where people seem to casually assume we will get 9 points from the next three games. Early season yes, now less likely unless Bamford and Brown hit the ground running.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 12:48:15

13 Feb 2019 13:15:13
I agree Tory. I'm concerned about our recent form. We're only 8 points (and goal difference) above 7th place.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 13:17:51
Don’t think we should assume that we will take three points from any game. All about us and how we perform and how much we make of the possession we have and chances we create.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 13:47:53
I predict Brizzle to "hit the wall" soon, the six-fingered farmers are due to hit a bump as well. As for the Blunts, they'll lose more than we will before the end of the season.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 14:17:21
Also, West Brom have drawn 5 of their last 7 home games. Hardly division winning form.
Still think Bamford will come good and hopefully Brown come in and score a few. This could be the difference between being top 2 or playoffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 17:43:59
Agree spanish, if we win our matches then we can go up. We really need to just convert some of the possession into goals, stop trying to walk the ball in the net and try a few shots from range. But we are Leeds and we don't do easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 18:15:15
When we won 7 in the trot didn’t mean that we would win the 8th. Managing the impact of past performance is the domain of the coaching team. The last 7 results haven’t been as bad as the previous 7 were good, if you get my drift.

“If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same
You get automatic promotion by Easter and
You’ll pass Huddersfield on the wane!

I’m sure those were the words, long time since I did it in school!
