Hi guys, firstly well done to GM and the boys on a good work out and win tonight in which apparently Roofy and Sacko caught the eye.
My main point is this Cookie was lured obviously with the promise of premier league football and I understand that. BUT! a big added financial factor was the guarantee of £30,000 a week wage he was offered, what grates on me and tell me if I'm wrong is as a bigger supported club like Leeds United football club cannot compete with the likes of AFC Bournemouth is down to one thing and that is the payments that is handed out to the premier league football teams is outrageously disproportionate with the rest of the football league and has to be brought into line in proportionate fairness with not just the Championship but the whole of football league, Yes there needs to be a hierarchy of PL gets more etc but when our club cannot match the wages of the likes of the Bournemouths and Burnleys of this world and I don't mean any disrespect to these teams as I admire the board, manager and ethos of the way Bournemouth operate, then something is very very wrong, or am I just bitter and jealous and Twisted? Lol sounds about right! IMO it's not right, it's not clever and it needs changing! Peace fellow leeds optimists MOT 😎.
{Ed003's Note - great post DJ - I don't admire Bournemouth simply because they broke rules (even if it is a nice story).The FL sorry EFL or EDF or whatever they call themselves now have a serious problem with just accepting any monies every time a new deal with broadcasters is done a tough problem because without it they're stuffed but to just bow down and accept and not fight for more is just wrong - the pyramid is more important than the prize piece on top,if a few blocks are removed below the pyramid will topple which is very worrying. #grassroots }

i agree in principle and would love things to be fairer but our beuatiful game is a business and this is how things work, look at my industry hollywood films make billions and actors millions then west end stage is 450 a week and fringe stage is lucky if you get paid, sure many buiness models work in this unfair way but way of the world, prem is a great marketable product worth millions as people want to watch it sunday league is not. it is a shame our game had to become a buiness but that is just what it is. I agree about grass roots but truth is cream will always rise to the top (like cook) and when they rise they want that money. I think since money has been a bigger factor and got wider in gap uk's youth has got stronger so dispite logic it seems to be working.

I agree Ed, I think there should be a general vote like the general election from all of the FL members and supporters of all 92 league teams as to who represents the fairness to all clubs regarding financial payouts, at the moment it's power to the self imposed few and boll***s to the rest of you, it like government here and around the world, power, greed, and CORRUPTION! But hey its only my opinion, I'm only a meagre lowly championship Leeds United fan, What do I matter to these nonchalant self important detached group of people running our game, they'll just scoff and snigger over their prawn sandwiches and fake champagne, OMG now I really do sound bitter, until then and fairness personifies all we and I can hope for is Promotion to the PREMIER LEAGUE!
