Tonge is a good footballer. Should be a decent addition. Don't know why people are moaning. Who did you think we were gonna bring in?? Xavi??

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Would have preferred Jenas. at least he has international pedigree.

Agree4 Disagree10

Good signing for this league no doubt. The lads only 29 and will have a point to prove. Plus is, SWarnocks worked with him before. So he will know what is exspected of him.
mot4life

Agree15 Disagree4

And he will be along side the best midfielder in the league, rudy rudy rudy!!

all these people talking about a boycot if there do and leeds get to the playoff final at wembley it will be the same so called fans crying because there cant get a ticket

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Dont blame the fans because they are boycotting try blaming someone who has a big white beard and sucking are club dry time for change in lust we trust keep up the good work lads!

Agree19 Disagree19

Like we are going to even get to the playoffs with Bates not spending?

I have faith in my team, but enough is enough as far as Bates is concerned!

Agree8 Disagree6

Well we finished 7th with a worse overall team 2 seasons ago! and in LUST we trust? wow as much as i hate to us this word there is only one word to sum any person that would say that up 'moron' LUST as almost as bad as Bates they should have lost all credibility to anyone with any common sense yet people still choose to follow their dillusional visions that LUST are the messiahs. Well ive got news for you all they aren't the messiahs they are very naughty boys!

Agree10 Disagree7

You can always get tickets if youve got money

Agree2 Disagree2

Do we have a better team than when we came 7th ? im not so sure .

Agree7 Disagree3

Ofcourse we do we have lost Gradel and Snodgrass since but midfielders have been replaced with better ones as has the defenders and first and second choice goalkeepers are now much better.

Agree1 Disagree3

And a better manager..... LUFC Spud

Agree1 Disagree1

The team is more workmanlike and can defend well but we are missing that bit of flair which you need against the better defences to cut them open. Without this I can't see us making the playoffs as we will start to drop points against the bigger clubs in the league. Also the other thing missing is useful back up in some positions. Last year we at least had someone who was competant in reserve, but this year we are already looking a bit thin on the ground in midfield with only a couple of injuries. Also we need competion for places, if we had a good backup for some of the positions it would push the starting player harder as he knows he could be replaced if he wasn't doing his best

Agree2 Disagree1

So we lost the ability to create and score goals, but our defence is slightly less leaky. how does that make us any better than back then?

Agree2 Disagree0

We still havent replace either gradel or snoddy as of yet so i dont no why you would post that when you know its not true leedsmad!

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Sep 2012 19:18:09
To all the posts saying the only reason we got Tonge was because of Bates. You have no idea that Tonge is the only signing Bates would allow, more conjecture that serves no purpose but causing friction.

Warnock said that he would wait for Tonge, sounds to me like he wanted him, in fact the only player we know of that NW didn't get that he wanted was Joel Ward, and Peltier is better.

Love Leeds. Don't talk crap & ignore bates. Best way forward ladies and gents.

Macca72

Believable16 Unbelievable4

Sorry, but Peltier is pretty shocking - Bring back Danny Mills!!
he would have atleast hacked down the Blackburn w**kers before they got through on goal, although it would have been red cards all round lol.

Agree0 Disagree19

Thats not right warnock said himself that he wanted noone, maynard, ward, scannell just to name a few and what about danns and jenas

Agree4 Disagree4

Yeah so they are players he would have liked but would have been upto £5mill which is well out of our budget, the point is he got the players he wanted based on the budget he had, otherwise if he had 15mill to spend i bet we would have a different squad!

Agree2 Disagree3

Stop making excuses im not saying spend 5 million as if bates would spend that much anyway he is oright taking money out of are club but he dont like putting it back in thats why fans have had enough of the way he is running the club time for a change bates out?

Agree5 Disagree2

To the guy who said Peltier is shocking please if you can't get to games it may not be your fault but atleast watch the ones on sky and watch Peltier before you pass a comment on his ability. Only game he was poor in was Blackburn but that was because Diouf was too slow to cover the left back Peltier should be defending against the winger which he was doing but then the left back stormed up and unfortunately Diouf was exploited.

I posted this afternoon and questioned fans that want to boycott games, and slag off warnocks choice in players, where your loyalty was ? I also asked those same people would they actually come back when bates goes. The answer was were showing our loyalty by not giving bates our money so he'll go? I think some to just love to complain if it wasn't bates it would be something else. If yur staying away your staying away but for the ones that
Keep on going like me my son and our friends well show the lads they are supported no matter whos in charge because as proved against Blackburn when we went 2 down we became the 12 th man as all the team admitted because of the crowd and our support it lifted them. If you cant show the team your loyalty why should they a and the manager want to stay and give their all. THAT IS WHY I GO my hatred of Bates is as much as the next Leeds fan but it's not anywhere near my love for the team

Believable23 Unbelievable8

Top Post Mate Brian Mot

Agree16 Disagree6

Watching Leeds is the thing I look forward to week in week out, has been for the last 35 years,It will take more than Ken Bates to stop me going.

Agree13 Disagree4

Arm chair fans for you! Top posts and replies....! MOT to proper fans

Agree7 Disagree4

Ken bates here, thank you very much for continuing to support my team, I mean your team. Keep handing over lots of cash as my house in Monaco needs a new pool and you will be paying for it. I love it when you stay loyal to me, it just makes me want to stay and fleece you longer

Agree6 Disagree9

Don't you get it? He doesn't t want you to stop going, he loves it when you spend plenty to top up his secret stash

Agree6 Disagree8

There is a big difference in boycotting games and slagging off warnock?

Very few (if any) people have criticised Warnock in any way (and rightly so) however, we all have the right to Boycott games to try and stop Bates bleeding the club dry.

Having supported Leeds for over 40 years, through good and bad and up and down I totally refuse to allow Bates to make one more penny out of me.

I have spent thousands of pounds (willingly) watching Leeds, but not a penny more till Bates is gone!

End of story. Leeds will be around a lot longer than Bates will, hopefully I will too!! {Ed013's Note - What a lot of people are forgetting is that most season ticket holders have already paid back in Jan/Feb time. We go due to the fact that we have paid, but I understand the frustrations. One thing I do know is so far the atmosphere is so much better than last season already}

Agree6 Disagree2

To the last reply about very few if any have criticised Warnock just read this page and the rumour site the amount of people moaning we have got Tonge on loan and slaggin Tonge off = slagging Warnocks judge of a player to me. The boycotters are just glorified armchair fans imagine we get to the play off final we get paid by sky to cover it are they not gonna watch it on sky because of that? and not go to the game because we get a share of gate receipts? No you'd all come back if you could or watch it on sky atmosphere is better now as less of the persons that seem to only know the Bates out chant are there and fans are getting behind the team while the game is going on.

Agree5 Disagree2

I live in brighton so i dont go to many games but someone stated how vital the fans was at blackburn when we comeback, that alone should be worth it. i do hope alot of the people on here are not leeds fans cause your embarrasing

Agree3 Disagree0

How to get rid of a scrounger - stop giving them money/freebies .bates = scrounger

Agree1 Disagree4

Look if you wanna boycott DO IT! But i don't i want to go and support my team football is a game of opinion so boycotters boycott and stop trying to push your opinions onto others its as simple as that.

Agree3 Disagree0

I have this theory right and here it is. When old Norman took over. He did say he would throw out all the the chancers and parasites and free loaders from the executive seats and more importantly those real fans that turned up for years in the family stand getting subsidised seats for them and their little cherrubs. The problem was their little cherubs were mansized beer swilling foul mouthed moaners and boycotters. I have been and will continue to be a Leeds utd supporter, both financially and verbally. That's my default position I can't help it. It's what I do come matchday. I am leeds born and bred. The fact that I now live and work in Scotland makes no difference. Come match day I will drive for 3 hours full of optimism and sometimes on the way home it feels like 10 hours. I don't care that a small minority want to make some noise because they got found out fiddling, claiming a family stand season ticket when their off spring if they ever had any have never been anywhere near ER. Then they have the temerity to accuse Norman of trousering their money. Remember the boy who cried wolf? In the end nobody believed him. A word to the wise and LUST followers.
Jedburgh White

Agree0 Disagree0

We ALL have the right to do what we feel is right.

To Ed. I know there are people who have season tickets, I wish I lived close enough to justify getting one myself.

I actually applied for one myself this season, despite living 150 miles away, hopefully you can work out the costs of getting to the ground far outweigh the ticket price though?

I stick with my decision, I asm not going to put money into Bates pocket but I am Leeds through and through.

Bates is only here for what he can get out of Leeds, I'll leae
ve the rest to you... {Ed013's Note - I understand that mate and fully understand both sides. There are people that say they won't go to the games whilst Bates is in charge, but some of them never went anyway and just like to stir things. For the one's that don't want to pay Bates, go to the away games if it means getting your fix of Leeds Utd}

Agree1 Disagree0

We all have aright to do what we feel is right?

I won't go back to Elland Road unless Bates puts some of MY money back into the team, so far I don't see it happening?
A lot of people (obviously) go each home game, but if you had to pay £60-£70 on top of the ticket price to get there, would you go?

Be honest, would you lay out over £100 a time to watch Leeds?

So don't kick the likes of me for boycotting games until Bates goes?

Untill my money is seen to be invested back into the team I have supprted for 40+ years, the leech is not going to get any more of MY money....

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Sep 2012 18:21:20
I agree...there really is no pleasing some people! I am a realist...as a lifelong Whites supporter I know I will never really have any say on matters behind closed doors in the boardroom. The 'Bates Out' boycott mob will disagree with me I'm sure but as a realist I'm more concerned with what I CAN influence as opposed to what I CAN NOT!

I live over 100 miles from Elland Road and I'm an emergency service worker. I don't make every game, but I do my best to make those games I can. I was there for the Peterborough game away, and the Blackburn game at home. I've already got my tickets for the game against the toffees. The atmosphere at Elland Road during the Blackburn game made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The wall of noise was as intense as I've ever had the privilege to witness in the flesh! That noise was generated by around 24,000. Imagine what a full Elland Road could generate! Boycotting games will do nothing to support our great club. The 11 men wearing the shirt week in week out need our SUPPORT. Not by staying away in a feeble attempt to force Unkle Ken out, but by attending games and generating that electric atmosphere I experienced at the Blackburn game on a weekly basis! Turn Elland Road into a fortress again! Make teams fear our twelfth man more than any other! And more importantly show those lads chosen by NW to wear the shirt that we are behind them! THIS IS SOMETHING I CAN ACTUALLY HAVE AN INFLUENCE ON!

Let the boardroom sort itself out!

IN NW WE TRUST! MOT!

Believable20 Unbelievable3

Mate, you should have been there for the play-offs under Bremner. 39,000 fans shouting, screaming, sing till they were horse! Mexican wave the works. It was a feeling that will never leave me. I know what our fans are capable of if their given the fuel. Warnock knows that if he gets his players to give 100% the fans will respond.

Sod Bates, Sod the takeover, It's about us and the players and the manager for now. Protests should be left outside. Once inside it's 100% Leeds United... UNITED being the operative word. so spot on mate!

Agree15 Disagree3

The best post Ive read on here for ages, some people on here would rather bang on about boycott this or boycott that ,or post stupid commments about the takeover but the vast majority of our fans are the best there is,and more concerned with supporting the team, theres way too many s=it stirrers and guy from other sites on here, either support the boys or f-ck off.

Agree11 Disagree4

You lot are mugs you clearly havent seen lust's latest statement on there website have you take a look for yourself its doesnt make good reading if your name is ken bates

Agree5 Disagree7

LUST are full of crap!!!!! o.w

Agree8 Disagree5

According to LUST the takeover was off ages ago! Oh wait.. they changed their mind when the OS actually came out with a true statement although i hate bates as the next fan LUST are just pure 'pub speculation' in Bates' words he is the least truthful person i have ever come across but he was speakin the truth in his not so subtle dig at LUST in the programme notes.

Agree6 Disagree4

Lust only said the takeover was of so the club would then after put a statement out and when they said the above the deal did collaspe at the time so whats your point leedsmad!

Tonge - Doesnt he play left side of midfield? Predominatly left footed? I dont get it, we have White & Diouf for that position don't we? I thought we need cover in central midfield?

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Tonge is right footed if I remember rightly ( no pun intended )

Agree3 Disagree0

He is a central midfielder..

NW wouldn't have brought in Michael Tonge if he didn't think he had quality. I be Tonge proves all the doubters wrong.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

13 Sep 2012 16:44:59
As I said..... days ago about Michael Tongue joining on loan as he cant get first team football with Stoke and he has worked with Warnock before at Sheffield. Well announced today...

On the Takeover.....dont shoot the messenger as this cynical but it is dead in the water and is being kept quiet not because of the NDA but so that as much money comes in from Ticket and merchandise sales.

As a Leeds fan for nearly 50 years .... we have two options 1) accept it and move on giving 100% support to the team and wait for Bates to retire.

or 2) Protest and try and force him out...this would mean not buying tickets, shirts etc

Ask yourself the question how many millions does Bates make a year from Leeds - I believe with transfers of young talent between £5m to £10m a year. So why would he sell Leeds Utd for £38m paid over 3 years, not counting tax breaks etc.

Believable0 Unbelievable12

Nonsense, I think everyone knew a few days ago that Tonge was a likely signing. You also didn't sign off with your name.... Oh so you are that guy in the know. Thanks for the updates

Positive news coming out about takeover today. Be patient and stop talking rubbishe

I don't think some of you understand what we've got in Neil Warnock, that he can get the best out of players that other managers can't. This is an opinion shared by a good many of other managers in this division. Under Warnock Tonge was considered to be the next big thing. Dioufi thinks a lot about Warnock and WANTS to work with him. Whilst so many of you are about boycotting games and slagging players off before they put the White shirt on, I have
One question where the fxxk is your loyalty.
I wonder just how many of those who say you will come back when Bates has gone actually will come back?
Support the team and the players and your fantastic very experienced tried and tested manager.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Our loyalty is being shown by trying to drive Bates out of Leeds and not giving him our money. We support the team but not Ken Bates.

Agree5 Disagree9

Who are you to be questioning loyalty. From what I see about you, you do have loyalty, and master bates loves you for it because he can count on you to be loyal to him by giving HIM your cash cause it's not going into LUFC. Well done

Agree2 Disagree7

You right we have the best manager we could hope for, and some great players brought in by him for little money. But don't question people's loyalty. It's about getting our money to help our great manager and the team not line bates secret stash. Seems your loyalty is to him

Agree4 Disagree5

I bet these boycotters if we was one game off winning the title/automatic promotion under Bates would suddenly come back! Or if we got back to the premiership and had Man U Chelsea etc at ER they would come back under Bates or otherwise. So they are affectively just glorified armchair fans in my opinion.

Agree8 Disagree2

Armchair fans? You sure you don't support manks united. Yes I was at the mu game and the Liverpool but you know what, I was also at the Exeter game and the orient game and many others while in league 1 paying lots into the club but it wasn't the club or team that it was helping, it was your best mate BATES. Go on and waste your money whatever way you like but stop slagging off others for not being a mug like you {Ed013's Note - Bit harsh that}

Agree0 Disagree3

Hows turning up to watch your team wasting money?,if you choose to stay away thats your choice, but theres a hardcore of about 25,000 who will turn up whatever,Im sure youll be sadly missed on matchday.

Agree6 Disagree0

Mug? i have not missed ONE single game home or away in the last 4 and a half years and im damned if im gonna stop going just cause some little school kid is calling me a mug if i go that doesnt have the slightest idea about what it means to be a Leeds fan. I hate bates but i love Leeds much more and Warnock could have walked out on us over the summer and decided to stay because of the fans, well haven't you boycotters paid him back brilliantly im sure he will be so happy he stayed for you now. Also tbf the 24000 fans at blackburn made a hell of a lot more noise than any game last season and much better atmosphere so at the same time im happy because boycotting is gettin rid of the pessimistic doomsayers that just constantly whinge and moan at everything the team does wrong.

Agree5 Disagree1

Bet your wrong, numbers are dropping already. Didn't even get that for the Blackburn game.

Agree0 Disagree1

Numbers are just that JUST numbers the atmosphere is far better now certain types of fans are boycotting. I am not saying all the fans boycotting are bad but most of them are the bates out moaners that dont shut up and get behind the team in the game shout bates out outside the ground not inside.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Sep 2012 15:31:32
groundhog day... the transfer window shuts with the Leeds squad severely lacking. first thing the manager does is go out and loan a mediocre but versatile midfielder from Stoke.

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Why disagree? heard of Danny Pugh?

Agree1 Disagree2

What a person! he was awesome under Warnock at Sheff Utd and everyone was suddenly taken notice of him also people like you need to remember stoke are a midtable prem team so if there players aren't good enough for them doesnt mean they aren't good enough for us. Go support another team! You haven't even seen him kick a ball in a white shirt yet and you already slate him imagine if he saw all the comments from people like you already! Warnock can get the best out of players and knows a hell of a lot more about football than you yet you say his judgement is poor? Well i will be a FAN and stay behind our manager until he actually starts doing a very bad job which we all know he isn't the manager to do a bad job at this level is he.

Agree3 Disagree1

Again, Danny Pugh. not good enough.

Agree1 Disagree2

What has Danny Pugh got to do with it Groundhog day is about the same thing/day happening again.. Tonge is far better than Pugh as well as the fact that Grayson signed Pugh and he isnt as experienced as Warnock, Warnock is a far better judge of player than not just Grayson but probably every manager in this league.

My god! Is anybody else as sick as I am with all the doom and gloom around Leeds United this season?

Put the takeover to one side for a second, our squad, imo, is much better than it was last season, we've managed to achieve this without getting ourselves too out of pocket.

At the begining of the summer I'd have been happy if we kept White, Snoddy and McCormack. Not only did we keep 2 of those we added a Premiership quality 'keeper, we've got a back 4 which is young enough, and capable enough, of playing for another 7/8 seasons and we've signed one of the best midfielders the club's had, in fact, the best, since our Premiership days. If we can add a few players on loan, that would be great, if not we'll have to rely on youth .. Sam Byram has shown that our youth isn't the worst!

Keep the faith! MOT!

'C' {Ed013's Note - More of these posts please!}

Believable24 Unbelievable5

Excellent post and my thoughts exactly! Way too much doom and gloom going on! I am sure everyone is sick to death of Bates and the takeover saga but is it not more important to get behind Neil and the boys that are at the club. We have started well, the guys are fighting for every ball and if we all put as much effort into supporting the team as we do lambasting the running of the club, we can make all the difference as the 12th man!
