Can anyone explain why the FL has such an obsession with Cellino and finding him unfit to own Leeds? Because it is beginning to seem like they have a vendetta against them or him.

They don't seem to have any problems with Ken Bates, who has led a number of clubs into monetary problems, even Chelsea had to be rescued twice during his time. Once by Matthew Harding and the second time when Abramovich swooped in to buy the club. They are also quite happy to allow Geoffrey Richmond to be involved, despite his fleecing of Bradford. There is also Peter Ridsdale, who I am sure none of you need telling about, still heavily involved.

Yet Massimo Cellino, who has proven himself to be a safe, if eccentric, pair of hands in Italian football, is being hounded by them! I don't believe there is any vendetta against Leeds, this does seem to be a very personal thing.

The fact that the club have already given Ken Bates the broadcast rights to Leeds games, suggests there is some kind of attempt to force Cellino to oil the wheels to smooth his passage into English football. I am sure he thought he was moving away from bribery and corruption leaving Italian football, but it seems English football is just as bad!

No idea ed. A bit of tax evasion is bugger all really I don't know anyone who hasn't done it either with a company or just a bit of cash in hand work. If you helped next door move house and he buys you a few pints for doing it you are technically in breach of tax evasion laws as it is an undeclared gift/gain for your services. Anyone had a paper round and didn't tell the tax man or a Saturday job and didn't declare it. I find it very odd indeed. Gary Barlow and most other stars all admit tax avoidance schemes. So would I be right that Gary Barlow would be blocked from owing a football club too? I doubt it tbh. Also MC could be director of any company within the UK but the FL are trying to ban him from LUFC very odd indeed.

I think it goes well beyond Cellino ed, its all things Leeds United, and not just the FL, its members of the press, even football commentators, probably stemming from Don Revies side, even today, only grudging recognition is paid to that great side, yes they were hard but could play teams off the park as well, I believe whatever they throw at us, cellino will come up trumps, MOT with Cellino.

So. Massimo has been found guilty and appeal killed on Tax evasion.

One school of thought among the rich is "everyone does it and taxes are for little people".

Another is that taxes pays for schools and hospitals and that tax evasion steals from the people.

Me. I think it is a bit more complicated. Like Leeds perception interest press/media and supporters/non supporters.

I like that he is positively engaged. I would like to think he has made mistakes based on bad tax advice/misconceptions. And I hope he will lead us to a new dawn.

But. Experience has taught me to be cautious of hope.

And I hope I am right.

ED01
Is that the same FL that are sponsored with Barclays Bank who miss represented millions of people with the interest rate fiasco!!
So wouldn't the money they paid as sponsors be tax evaded earnings they duped honest people out of? I mean if you dig deep enough it wasn't even Barclays money to give the FL.

Money talks and Barclays pay too much for the FL to investigate or even comment on ;(

{Ed001's Note - I fully agree mate, it is a case of do as I say, not as I do.}

Ed 1 you might have forgotten Richmond was also a bankrupt when he was at Leeds.
I think he was an adviser and not a director but his son David certainly was.

{Ed001's Note - I was trying not to get too distracted on the rant by getting into details. Hence why I didn't mention Carson Yeung running Birmingham from inside a jail cell......

Very good Ed 1,
However this is just the start.
If we go back many years David Sullivan ex Brum and now West Ham was jailed for living off immoral earnings or something like that and now he's seen as a gentleman and pillar of The Sport society.
Bet there's dozens more Angels in football.
Soccer ownership is an ego trip for the rich and sadly not owned by the people who actually pay for it.
The great fans of all our clubs.
